  1. Anything can be fished on a spinning rig. The President is a great reel, any idea as to what size you are wanting? the 40 is a bit big for most people, although it's my preference, the 30-35 is where most people stay. It's very smooth and solid, IMO the best in it's price range.
  2. As Flechero said, it may look like his store rods but it could be something much more custom made to look similar. We don't know for sure. KVD has a spinning rod to match his new cranking rods but to my knowledge it's not available to the public

  4. I really like fishing with a spinning rig, I have many baitcasters and only one good spinning outfit but that one spinning outfit is my workhorse and goes with me on every outing. I can fish as small a 1/16 oz baits on my Sol/Carrot Stix Gold without much of a problem, and do sometimes, but I prefer spinning. I've actually fished yo-zuri snap beans with my sol, if you have ever used them, they are SMALL, not sure how much they weigh.
  5. Senkos aren't exactly lightweight, they weigh about 3/8 oz. That's what I was going to say. I use spinning gear for weightless plastics, jerkbaits, shakey head, and dropshot.

  7. BPS makes a 6' XH musky rod in the graphite series, not great but cheap. I've never musky fished, but I'd like to, have a pretty nice musky lake near.
  8. Definitely like the Little John type eyes...make all your baits look mad
  9. Tough he is on rods, he snapped a steez in half during the forrest wood cup. There is an episode of city limits that the camera man stepped on a LT rod and broke it, he was pretty upset
  10. Roland Martin swears by a color selector
  11. I'm not so sure about a 10'' but the 7'' are pretty big and many companies make them, ***, Yum, GYCB, SK. You could always glue two together like they did at Falcon
  12. I would suggest something with centrifugal brakes. The Citica is gonna be a good choice, might also add Revo S, BPS Extreme or Pro Qualifier
  13. Sorry, I haven't/can't see any clips right now. Did you see a clip of him specifically saying what he used? I read a blog, but that doesn't mean he actually said it. I've noticed ESPN quite regularly mis-identifies the equipment that was used in a specific tournament. I know for a fact in past instances where the fault lies because I've tracked the chain of info to the source of the problem. Unless you specifically heard Ike say he was using "X" rod, I'd say the issue is not with him. Before the new KVD rods came out, KVD almost always said he was fishing with his old signature rods but was almost always fishing an energy or tour pt rod. However, editing plays a big part in that, I have heard Ike and KVD, not to mention many others say they were using a certain bait or type of gear for them to set the hook on a fish and clearly not using the same bait or gear. I remember an episode of bassmasters with KVD fishing a jerkbait on a spinning rig, he sets the hook and swings the fish in on a baitcaster and a crankbait.

  18. Probably not gonna last long, I had trouble throwing mine on a 7'H Kistler Magnesium, I then threw it on a 7'6''H Castaway flipping stick but was still very weary. After about three casts you'll understand why swimbaiters use the gear they do.
  19. I have some of the Kreit Tail worms, they are nice, never caught anything on them but never really got on a big worm bite this year. They are huge though, basically a 5'' stick bait with a big ribbon tail
  20. I bought a Cherrywood a few years ago and it last exactly one trip, actually the first hour out with it, set the hook and it snapped in half, that's how I got my second Lightening Rod.
  21. .... This is Spinal Tap. here's one.... "Lord loves a workin' man, don't trust whitey, see a doctor and get rid of it." The Jerk "One semester we took Criminology, for Christ's sakes. What the #$%^ were we training to be, Batmen?
  22. My old Pro Qualifier is a 6.3, it's not the LTD version that yours is, but like other said, the IPT is more important to know. Just pull some line out, mark it with a sharpie, turn the hand one full crank, then mark it again, pull out to the first mark, and measure between the two...there's your IPT, just like stasher said
  23. I have had two for going on two years that have held up fine. One I use for crappie and bluegill, the other I still use for bass occasionally, but it's usually what I let my wife use when we go.
