  1. They are pretty good baits, the Sebile has a better action. I have three and they all seem to catch at front joint from time to time, especially on a slow retrieve but a quick jerk or speeding up break it free. For the most part the action is really good though

  3. This is who I bought my E5 from http://cgi.ebay.com/Shimano-Curado-200-E5-Baitcast-Reel-New-For-2009_W0QQitemZ370237461280QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item5633df5320&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
  4. If you can find an old Energy E750PT for less than $100 they are a pretty good reel for cranks. An E5 would be better and can be found for $150 on ebay
  5. So I have a Quantum Energy 30PTi-A that has been a great reel this year. Until recently I have had no problems but the last trip out it started making a clicking sound on the initial retrieve after the cast. It clicks maybe 3-4 times in 1-2 handle turns and stops. It's only on the initial cranks after I close the bail, almost sounds like the drag but it happens no matter how the drag is set. I also switched switched spools to see it that was it but it does it with both spools. It doesn't happen everytime, I'd say once out of every 6-10 casts. Any idea of what it is or what's going on? Anyone else had this trouble?
  6. Anything but the Revolution Shad and Bluegills.... >
  7. That's what I was going to say.
  8. depends on the lighting. It is a goldish yellow like the sol but in direct sunlight it is red. The TW picture actually shows the different hues very well
  9. There's nothing wrong with the E21 gold carrot stix. I have a 6'10'' MH paired with a Daiwa Sol that I use for jerkbaits and shallow cranks and wouldn't trade it for anything else, it does exactly what I want it to do perfectly.
  10. I agree with Dink, the 705c is a great all around rod. After this weekend I may have to get myself a 765 or 766.
  11. I really like it for my spinning gear. It's extremely limp and quiet strong. I use P-line on baitcasters for the extra strength but this is a good compromise between strength and manageability on any set-up.
  12. My Spinner bait set-up is a 7' MH Avid and a Pflueger Supreme and it ran me around $280 or so. It's a great set-up, the avid is a bit heavy but the Supreme helps balance it out nicely
  13. I got the P-17s with my toro and really like them

  15. There's no question that the Curado is the better ''VALUE'' as it should be, it's $100 less than the Zillion.
  16. For me it's a tossup between the SK Series 5 and a Bomber Fat Free Shad
  17. It's like fishing with a small shoestring....white above the water, white below the water
  18. in this case any ways http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090812/ap_on_fe_st/us_odd_fish_story heard this on the radio yesterday
  19. definitely sad news...an icon indeed
  20. I love the rod....goes great with a bit heavier reel to offset the tip..I have found it to be a dandy spinnerbait rod
  21. I have a 7'MH Avid and it's probably the heaviest rod that I own, with the exception of my swimbait rod. Even my glass cranking rod is lighter
  22. I have a Daiwa Sol and an Carrot Stix Gold that I use for shallow cranks and jerk baits. I have recently been using the Owner Cultiva baits, specifically the Savory Shad and Rip'n Minnow. These baits are light, the Rip'n Minnow 70 weighs 1/5 oz and the 65 sp even lighter, maybe 1/8 oz. This combo allows me to throw these about 50-80 ft, fish from the bank and the spot I fish has a treeline 50ft out or so, so I can place these baits where I need them without trouble. I also use 12lb P-Line Flouro-clear on the rig so I know a lighter line would result in a little more distance.
