P-Line Floroclear
I pretty much fish some sort of P-Line EXCEPT spinning reels, its too much of a hassle. For spinning reels I use Yo-Zuri Hybrid, I actually use 10-12lb but I have larger spinning reels (40 in Pflueger and 30 in Quantum, whatever that equates to shimano and daiwa).

Reel trouble
A pflueger President is a nice reel for $50-60, I have two, never fished daiwa or shimano spinning reels but I have never been disappointed with the president

I have 12lb on two rigs and haven't had much of a problem. I used kvd on one spool and it made it stiff after it dried for a few days. I know its not as strong as cxx but as far as manageability, abrasion resistance, and strength goes I am pleased.

Boyd Duckett had nothing to do with my decision to buy one....I liked the way they felt and how light they were....plus I like orange and the gold matches my sol quiet well... I don't know what the cost of production is but I think they need to drop all three series down $50

I thinks it good that pflueger is donating a portion of the earnings toward breat cancer detection. I've been and ultrasound tech full time coming a year in Oct. and it's sad and scary to see women come in for an ultrasound because they felt something but didn't go to the doctor because they don't have insurance or they just didn't want to deal with it and you can immediately tell its cancer from the first picture.

- Advantages of spinning reel
I personally love a good spinning rod. My baitcasters outnumber my lonely spinning rod 9:1 but that one spinning rod goes everywhere I go, some baitcasters get traded or left behind but not my spinning rod. I feel that they are way more versatile than a baitcaster and way easier to operate. Some say casting accuracy is lost but I find I am more accurate with my spinning rod. Some guys don't like them and I cant understand why, it's like some people get the idea that a spinning rod is just for UL applications or nothing at all.- $100 range rod and reel combo or separate
If you have a Bass Pro near or want to order form the site or mag, I would suggest this http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_59170_100003002_100000000_100003000_100-3-2 Its a great starter setup at $130 I would suggest a 6'6''-7' M or MH- Daiwa Aggrest ?
Not even an exceller, it's a fancy strikeforece- Looking to Get Some new stuff.
you can get a good entry level combo from either cabelas or bass pro for a descent price. I started with a Bass Pro Extreme/Pflueger President spinning combo that retails for around $129 that is still being used by my dad today. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable spinning combo.- Swimbait/Big bait reel?
I have a revo toro 50-HS for such baits and really like it. Haven't got to use it much with work but from my experiences thus far, its a good purchase. Offers everything of the larger round reels but with a familiar low profile design, just slightly larger. I have small hands and to get the larger line capacity without the bulk of a round reel was the key for me.- powell ratings
I have fished the 704 and that is the ticket for casting jigs and t-rigs of most size.- KDM, NS Black Hole Rods... so pretty
nice....some people knock Korean rods but I have a Damiki Spinning rod and love it. That thing is my workhorse, I never go anywhere without it.- snagging carp
if its in a pond, its probably there for a reason....if you cant catch it fairly, I would leave it alone- best colors for certain times!?!?!?!?
Junebug, black neon, and watermelon red for all the above- When to keep fish..
If you are going to eat a fish, you might as well eat one that tastes good. There are a number of fish that taste better than bass....crappie, bluegill, walleye, and catfish just to name a few.- WHAT ARE THE BEST BASS COLORS!?!?!?!?!?!?
I don't get the choices....some are plastics colors and some are hard bait patterns so which does this refer to....I'm gonna say baby bass though...i have this color in almost everything I own- Need a new rod
I looked at these this weekend. These are some friggin' nice looking and well finished rods. The end-cap on the grips is a nice touch. I bought one as a back-up great rod for the money IMO I fourth this....the original Lightening rod is good too- Will this fish be okay. Number two.
Hmm... That's some sound advice! 8-) And how- Suggestions on crankbait rod. Help me spend money!
This is going to be my suggestion. I have a 7'mh that I got about a month or so ago and really like the rod. Have it paired with a curado e5 and fish Norman deep little n's, strike king series 5-6, fat free shads, and the occational dd22. Haven't had trouble fishing any of these baits. They just came ou with a 7'6'' h if you are looking for a longer rod. Also hear good things about the KVD rods.- Drag won't tighten sufficiently
That was going to be my guess, I did that many times whenI first started taking my cheaper reels apart- Powell Max or G-Blanks
I have a powell 705c and really like the rod, worth every penny and even more. Extremely light and sensitive. That being said, I have been looking around for a rod to match my Daiwa Alphas 103. I was looking at getting a purple rod, mojo perhaps, but have decided to give G-Blanks a try. I have talked with Larry and am thinking about ordering a 7'M rod, all black with purple accent thread.... sorry, didn't mean to ramble or hijack the thread- what the heck is boron?
Ballet is boron to me - Advantages of spinning reel
