  1. he used it on a episode of City Limits Fishing
  2. I like the magic swimmers and have heard good things about the koolie minnow
  3. It's a swimming jig that has a pretty wide wobble...Iaconelli uses them with finesse worms
  4. Personally I would say that its a good deal even with the extra shipping....The code is a great reel and is a steal for that price with shipping
  5. I have a 7'MH Senko Special (mine says small swimbait special but the same rod) and like it very much. The Magnesium rods are light rods and really sensitive. It doesn't get used as much as it should, I tend to use the 7'H more, but a great rod for smaller plastics and jigs, I have used it for shakeyheads, small jigs, weightless plastics, and weighted up to 1/4 oz. Not so great for spinnerbaits, the original reason I got this rod, that and a great deal here in the flea market but I like a stiffer rod for spinnerbaits and it fills a plastics void quiet well.
  6. A FIFTEEN FOOT CRAPPIE?!?!? I like those Storm WildEyes. They're great around here in the 3 & 4" Shad color.
  7. Recently recieved one of these as a birthday present and have no doubts or regrets...definitely a great rod I have a 7'MH that I use for medium-deep divers but see they added a 7'6''H...guess I jumped the gun a little quick http://www.***.com/descpageRODSCLUCKY-LCCR.html
  8. definitely a great price for a code and a rod
  9. I only use braid on one setup, my flipping stick, so I'm not one to answer your question because I don't really like it. The responses on what type are gonna be Power Pro, Suffix, and Fireline for the most part and many people will ask you why you would stop at 20lb and not go to 50lb (12lb dia.). Personally I dont understand using anything less than 30lb, what the use in using braid if your not going to use the extra strength. I kind of understand 20lb for spinning but would go higher for baitcasting.
  10. I don't understand why this bothers people either way. If you like a left hand retrieve, most manufacturers make a left hand version of their reels, no big deal. I know some people are bothered by switching hands after casting but you reposition your hand after a cast regardless of what hand you cast or retrieve with.
  11. that they do, I likt 6.x reels but the two have it covered
  12. I think the majority of people here, unless new to fishing, are going to have a rod setup for certain techniques that they can go to and change without adjustment. That could mean just two rods 1-t-rigs and jigs and 1-hardbaits (spinnerbaits, cranks, topwater). You can have just two rods and they could be technique specific, depending on what you fish. I'm not gonna have a rod for each color and size of bait but I have a shallow crank/jerkbait rod, deep crank rod, small t-rig rod, larger t-rig and jig rod, spinnerbait rod, tube rod, swimbait rod, and flipping stick.
  13. I love my Pflueger reels, they are about half my arsenal, but I wouldn't buy below the Asaro, although I have heard good about the trion for $99, may be a good choice for 5.x:1. I think it would be better to take an extra $30-40 and get a power version of last years energy. Some dicks still have them for $80-90 and can also be found on ebay for that price.
  14. For which technique ? :-? well I mainly fish senko type baits, grubs, creature baits, ribbontail worms. Either t-rigged with small bullet weights or weightless. I won't be fishing into heavy cover with this reel. 6.4:1
  15. I use either a 6.3:1 (smaller t-rigs in more open water) or a 7.1:1(Larger baits in cover), oh and 5.8:1 (tubes)
  16. I was watching worlds greatest fishing show yesterday on DVR and right before the show Mike Iaconelli was yelling at me to fish on the edge and try a cutting edge technique called POWERSHOTTING with 1oz weights, 20lb flouro, and big baits fpr big bass.....FISHING ON THE EDGE BABY....YEEEEAAAAHHHHH....fishing on the edge brought ot you by castrol synthetics.
  17. Doesn't Cabelas still sell the Aquaglow baits that glow in the water? You may look into them, from what I remember, they are rather cheap.
  18. Some of my rods pull double duty but for the most part they are technique specific.
  19. Yes, they are very smooth on retrieve and yes, you can set the brakes and leave them be.
  20. I have a friend with a 6'M Quest rod which used to be the Dicks in store brand, not a bad rod at all. I think that the rods are basically the same, just with a new name. Probably wouldn't be a bad choice, especially for the price they are.
  21. Yes....a very good deal. The supreme is better than the president and lighter and at $70 can't be beat. IMO, the President is the best reel in it's price range, it's smooth, solid, and can take a beating. I bought my dad on fir Christmas and it's still kicking strong as ever. He's tough on reels too, loads them with 20lb mono, tightens the drag, andhe gets bit, he swings for the fences. I think it's even been catfishing a few times with great success.
  22. Have one of each, E7 on a flipping stick and E5 on a deep crank rod. The E5 sees way more action and is very good for it's job. No problem throwing most cranks without adjustment, smaller cranks require a bump in brakes but for the most part the brakes go untouched. Both are great reels and well worth the sticker price.
  23. That he did, throwing a yum dinger. Evers uses dingers, KVD uses the ocho, and the list goes on, it's mostly a sponsorship thing and alot of companies make a variation. Didn't the stick bait play a big part at falcon? I thought there were guys gluing the 7" baits together, I know Paul Elias was using jelly worms but the stick bait got alot of play.
  24. I can't lie, it put a smile on my face. I can see it now "High School Musical 7: The Wedding"
