  1. Well, the rod isn't quite the same weapon as I have found the original med power shafts (the ones y'all see in many of my vids) to be. I hooked into this 5.4 on day 1 with the new combo and didn't even know it was a fish till it was 1/2 way up,lol. My c-bait was just skimming the top of the weedbed perfectly so I was grabbing weeds every few casts. I thought this was just another "clump",lol It'll work for now but a custom is in order when the cash flow returns, most definitely. ps- Another big thanks to Glenn for the gift, it got me my first 5 lbr. This reel casts a country mile!!!
  2. Teaching. I like preach4bass' answer too though, "knowing my weaknesses". Excellent answer
  3. At $400/mo, I think I'm one of the few people renting who, although I may not be making money, I'm not losing any at such a low cost.
  4. :-[ :-[ Too murky on bottom in that area
  5. I'm an equal opportunity Hooker. Anything with fins that's willing to jump on the hook and go for a drag is fair game in my book (within state laws of course) I DO NOT discriminate!!
  6. A series of rods made by Mitchell for spiderwire. Low-mid range rods, they retailed for $49-$59. Discontinued in 2004, they are often sought by previous spidershaft owners.
  7. I will do that when I'm leading the race into the Polo Pond. ;D You putting a sail on your boat cause I'm showing up with 3 endura 55's. I'll even give you a head start. I had 2 last yr and could have easily been the 1st one back there. It's all yours though, I'm not up for a circus. I hope the 1/2 stick of dynamite we are throwing in there on our way in, doesn't hurt your fishing though ;D : There's more than 1 way to level a playing field.lmao
  8. The general feel so far is that the technology works but the package is VERY heavy. Let us know what you think.
  9. I'm a big fan of Ande Outback Blue. Costs about $2.50 to spool a spinning reel. I am still using last yrs!!! NOT spending $20 to spool a reel has not affected our videos 8-) ;D Keepin it on the down Low (Budget)
  10. Dude,....you have no idea what you just said,lol...... 5bl-I got it from mrbirmi and he has another one, same thing but the top eye insert popped out-$30 My service from mrbirmi was impeccable. Pssst...only if you write with your left hand,....I don't (catch up man, this issue has been "resolved" since the mid 80's : )

  12. We would compliment each other well. There isn't anything a baitcaster can do that I can't get done with spinning gear. My weakness would be that I lose fish trying to capture them on film. "Filming" has become the priority over "landing". Something I'm ok with but wish there were a better way that was still within my "low budget".
  13. 649 lbs!!!! FORGET IT!! I employ small boats so we can get into many of the smaller lakes, here in RI, that's where the better fishing is found. We launch lakeside usually (no ramps on these ponds/lakes) and fish electric only so this much weight would be out of the question for us. If you fish on "Ramped" waters only, it may still be a viable option for you, but for that kind of money, you can get 2, even 3 times the boat.
  14. Howdy neighbor (East Greenwich)!! RI is full of used jons, I would personally prefer a jon to anything plastic. JMO Jons can be made pretty comfy too see HERE
  15. Good luck gooseboots. Our project is on "standby" due to uncooperative weather >
  16. I agree with Bruce, at UPS, we often get these US postal totes into our building (as they get ours, it's just the way it works) and although great for what they are designed for (light, carry cases for bulk letters, etc) the material they are made out of wouldn't support a young child, let alone a small adult, and certainly not a full sized adult.
  17. Around the same time I started noticing girls,lol....happened pretty much the same way too,..........one day,I found a magazine.... : ;D
  18. Go stick it.... ....To a Kentucky lake 7 lbr, next April!! ;D
  19. Well, thanks to Glenn, I took the new Revo STX he got me and put it on this 6-6 MH Spidershaft I found in "flea market". 24 lbs of drag, I hope I get the chance to use each one
  20. YEA BOY!!! A PopeyeCraft!! Good luck with her ya lucky dog,...you and Oliveoyl are gonna have some fun on that puppy, congrats!!!!
  21. I suggest getting that multi bank charger in a more protected area. Out of the weather. I also suggest keeping the decks as low as possible concerning center of gravity. Take a look at the stickies, there is one for mods/rebuilds. Might be a few ideas in there for you. With that in mind, document your build as much as possible, lots of pics and maybe we can add it to the list eventually so others can benefit. Good luck, lots of details!!!
  22. I would suggest this test be done standing on the bow bench. If you are comfy there, you'll be more than fine when you are centered on a front deck. Another reason it's great to be small,......my bow seat IS my front deck, lol
  23. Pretty cool!! How much does the cap change the action on something like the fluke? Thanks for sharing!
