SNOW!!
Welcome to our world here in New England. A few years ago, it was 75 degrees a week before opening day (trout season) I spent opening day cleaning ice from the eyes as we saw 5" that day. Sunny and 70 the week after. Snow on Easter is something we see every decade or so also. Happens all the time in New England, you never know what you're gonna get till you get it.

Anyone else enjoy fishing in the rain?
Only thing better than that is when there is a fall bite going on and it's snowing. Others say "NO", we say "GO"

How many people fish with a partner that outfishes them? (every time)
Fishing in my boat is always a team effort, it's us against them, not me against you. This whole mindset is what Team LBH is all about. (well, that and getting it done for as little moolah as possible, lol)

swivels?
Never, well,...only a 3-way for double fluke rigs (and saltwater trolling gear)

The loss of a pet/best friend
I've had 3 dogs in my life and losing them can really hurt but you have to remember that it only hurts because there was so much love there,...which, in the big picture, is just awesome. Now I have my 1st cat. She was due to be put down on Monday, but I adopted her the Saturday before and she's really special to me. My advice in these situations, and I know it a tough consideration, is to go get another Kitty. Go save one today, I'm pretty sure Felix would want that too. So, in short, I'm sure sad for your loss but I'm REALLY happy that you had the opportunity to know that kind of love. .

can you explain jigs?
There is never as wrong time to use a jig, never. well,...winter in Maine might be tough but other than that.... There are different types of heads for different uses. Swimming ones (swim jigs), ones that come through weeds better (finesse and cone shaped heads), ones for rocks(football), etc Below is a real quick, very rough vid I made for Muddy last yr. Just the basics to get you going. I think why the owner discouraged you was because jigs require patience to learn and perhaps he felt you were looking for quicker results. STICK TO IT faithfully and your confidence in it will build. When it does, you won't knoiw how you ever fished without one before. To begin with, I suggest using a 1/8 oz finesse jig by Terminator, Booyah, etc, they all work. Using this size first id beneficial because you will hang up on very little. It comes through grass and can be fished around rock, wood or any other cover like many other jigs but is very user friendly. Add a craw trailer. Spray with scent if that tickles your fancy. Good Luck JIGGIN VIDEO

You guys who are fishing are KILLIN' Me
Such a short season,...no wonder those little blue pills are $.50 a piece up there, otherwise the homicide/suicide rate would be through the roof, lol Seriously though, being from an area that locks fisherman out for 4 months a yr (Ice), I can feel your pain. Remember though, absence makes the heart grow fonder. Cabin fever sucks, but without it, we wouldn't know the excitement that spring brings

watermelon/black senko
Well, that's my favorite and a lot of other guys, but really, the only reason we catch more fish on watermelon w/ black flakes is because we throw it more often! I think I probably do just as well with black w/ blue flakes or green pumpkin w/ red & black flakes. Basically, any color will usually work. I fish "dark" or some kind of white! 8-) WE AGREE!!!!!! STOP THE PRESSES!!! People WAY over think color IMO Pick one,...throw it. (special video coming for any folks stuck on only having confidence with a certain color. Stay Tuned)

I simply love spring!

Bait Casting Contest
STYROFOAM??? We use thimble's and Dixie cups ;D Cool idea though. I suggest, all the folks who swear B/c is better than spinning, to let the spinning guys compete with you, side by side. I'm not claiming one side or the other, just saying. You could set up a flip/pitch section too, smaller, harder targets, some with "defensive" obstacles to get around, under or in.

New Boat is Done
yup,...you're doing it right, lol. I'm reading this and feel like I'm re-living a build, lol. I know what you mean about the Aluminum, My partners boat is stripped right now but his measuring skills aren't up to par. He thought he'd be able to get it thru the bulkhead at his dads house, to paint it inside. Nope. So he's waiting for a stretch of 75 degree weather but for now, it's a shiney alum. He is also planning on using the same rustoleum combo. We will be waiting anxioiusly to see your results before we begin so please keep us updated. THANKS and good luck:)

Question about LM bass lips?
Something I noticed, when I watch my Oscar. When I increase the temp, it tricks him into thinking it's booty time and the digging begins. I've seen him fan only twice but I see him "shovel" with his mouth, all day long. I honestly believe the bulk of the nest is made with the mouth, not the tail, but those are just my observations on 1 fish. as for plain old RED lips, there are a few theories, none proven yet. -Eating craws - From "Rooting" for craws and other edibles -cold water -Revlon had a sale on "Ruby Red" etc ;D
