  1. It's not so much a matter of them not liking them as much as the folks not wanting to be caught using the bait ANYONE can catch with. There's not much talent needed to catch fish with these and some feel it reflects on their skill to still be in the running but not because of the trick stick because they are versatile enough to still compete WITHOUT it. Many people have won tourny's on Trick sticks and think they are good when in fact they are very limited, closed minded anglers, I think these guys want to avoid being lumped in with that class. Personally, I'll use what catches, I have nothing to prove to anyone. :-? That is not the reason I do not fish them, I simply do not like fishing that slow. Do they catch fish? yes. Do I leave a fish or two behind by not 'finishing' a spot with a Senko/Trick Stick/Yum Dinger/etc? Probably. Am I ok with that? Yes. FD Makes alot of sense, they just don't fit your style. There are more like you I'm sure but many haters for the aforementioned reasons also. I can relate to your reasoning though. It's not MY style, but I can relate.
  2. Dude,...my dad's plate is MrT. Literally and Mom has MT (marilyn)
  3. To answer Tin and Matt in one shot, it's long enough to wear in a pony tail now Gene-It's only OWNED if I were not being given a choice. The only ones "owned" here are those w/o gore-tex in a good storm with a steady bite. That won't be me At least that's how I see it,lol My ex Michelle, lives downstairs, is an old pro at airbrushing things on it when it's ironed out. I'm gonna ask her today if she can do the BR logo, never did lettering, I doubt it but, hehehe Maybe a maroon/green/tan stripe....... C'mon people, have a sense of adventure, it's only hair, grows back quick
  4. Someone needs to invent a motor that runs on used plastics
  5. ok, so my North Face contract is up in July. It is not being renewed as company restructuring has it where they are dropping the bottom 4 levels of sponsorship and beefing up the top 2. There are ZERO hard feelings as this was all explained to me awhile ago and it was done with utmost respect and appreciation for a job well done up to this date. I commend them on handling this aspect with such professionalism, it was a pleasure to learn and work with these folks and I will continue to wear/purchase and promote their products in the future because in my HONEST opinion,...they're just that good. So anyway, one of then head honchos was watching a vid and asked if I was the same guy they used to sponsor for US Freestyle, the one with the Mohawk? My rep replied that it was but my contract was expiring soon. So he threw an offer at me. Wear a mohawk for the remainder of the contract and get "X" (very generous) amount of points added to my account. Now this couldn't have come any other time as my hair has not been this long in about 15 yrs. So guess what,..... Change is a comin',lol (And yes, I explained that I was 40 yrs old but he countered with "we've always marketed you at the 15-30 yr old crowd,...start chopping" lol)
  6. Catt, we kind of do the same. We meet at Erics dads house, where we keep the boats and we will take 1 car from there, alternating each trip. The issue is, even then, I am driving 20 miles to dads house and then another 20 to the lake at least 3-4 times a week. Still adds up, especially on weekends when I go there and back twice a day, that's 320 miles/weekend. I already own 2 tents, 2 air mattresses and enough propane accessories for Emiril to cook a 5 course meal in a hurricane,..... at night. I need to find a spot on the lake where I can set up camp and not be illegal or intrusive to the residents,....or start to make some of those trips to some of the closer lakes.
  7. Shhhhhhh, gonna offend the tourny guys, lol (many are still coping with losing to a senko angler this weekend)
  8. lol,....not everyone's goal is to be on stage at the scales I guess... ;D Whatever works for you man
  9. Thanks guys, Dan, email of font files sent (well, it's the links to them, it would be easier for you to just d/l them yourself, they're free) Thanks again folks!
  10. Tin's got it,...gonna be a screwy yr but a good one by the looks of it. They should kick off a little sooner than usual, I would expect to see beds by the beginning of May if these temps keep up. The moon isn't till the 3rd week, I think many will not wait for it.
  11. For all you folks getting blown around.....buy a Drift sock!!!! (worth every penny and then some!!)
  12. Roadwarrior has lots of luck with these, he's the guru if you need help. I've caught a few fish on them but they only seem to catch the small ones.... : ;D (poke poke RW,lol) (couldn't resist)
  13. lol,...it's certainly not MY way of thinking mind you....just trying to explain why some folks are dead against it. It took the tourny circuit and made it into something any Joe Blow could win and that has rubbed a few folks wrong. But that's life folks.
  14. Matty, we hopped in there the other day for a quick 2 hour stint. We found your Birch Dirk got a 5.1 off it and I pulled two 3's off it while he dealt with the hook,......that's one helluva Birch tree, lol. Being on that sunny side helps though......can't wait till that newly fallen pine starts holding a few. We need to build a temporary dolly for the boats though, too heavy to carry that far, maybe something we could keep at Erics dads so either of us could grab it when needed. It will come in handy at a few other places too. Bought a 4runner yesterday, going to be looking into lots of other places to fish due to the cost of gas and getting to lake X or Y is gonna be costly. I'll come up with materials and a design, get the welder ready.
  15. It's not only extremely rewarding for both you and the jr anglers, it is the future of the sport. Well done and well spoken Sam!!
  16. Thanks for the detailed explanation!! Couple questions. Is it the 3x plastic in any of the Rage baits? Do you know Chris Brown? (He really hooked up the kids at our ground breaking CAST for Kids event here in Providence, I like to put that out there whenever the opportunity arises seemed like a great guy)

  18. What timing,...I bought a 4 runner yesterday. I'm going from my go-Kart 4cyl 5-speed jetta to a 6 cyl luxury cruiser. We were discussing lakes closer to home while on the water yesterday, another option in the discussion was packing the goods and camping at the lake for the weekends instead of making the routine 4 trips/weekend.
  19. I notice you represent RageTail but not other S/K products, is R/T like a subdivision or something? How does that work? Also, would you care to give me a quick education on your products please? Thanks!
  20. my mistake slomoe, I bought a truck a few days ago, been consuming my time (the hunt, etc). I got a bunch and will reply to them all by tomorrow night. But we want MORE!!!!
  21. No, evidently, you are taking a conversation about reeling personal. The above is your quote, if you were quoting someone else, it didn't "quote" them, just you, in your reply. But more to the point, don't take it personal, whatever way is best for you is the right way. As for the pro's doing it too, yes they do, they were also conditioned when there wasn't a choice. Again, it obviously doesn't make anyone less of a fisherman,...it's a personal preference.
  22. HAHA, fooled you all with the title,....kinda. I'm surfing through this section and it certainly has been heating up with all these big fish being caught and guys having banner days and learning stuff and so on so I gotta step in and make another appeal,...... I NEED PICTURES!! For the 15k Members video!! Please read HERE and send me your trophy pics!!!
  23. What a pretty old girl :-* Nice pic of the release, that'll make a nice memory
