Craw experiment part 1
I did something similar last yr. I would give my Oscar a craw with arms, 1 arm and no arms to see which one he would eat first. I only did it twice as I don't feed him craws too often but, (and I know this was not the best control for this experiment, being a domesticated fish..) but he went after the "clawed" craw 1st, both times. Now this may be because the other 2 were all ready to be eaten so maybe they need less attention? Dunno, but the clawed ones DID go 1st. (It was also the one that landed closest to him.) I think it may be more a method of opportunity other than selection. Wasn't expecting that.

Senko type baits???
Folks, these senko threads are numerous and repetitive. For this reason, we have compiled all this info into 1 thread. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1121527643

What's on the menu tonight?
Tonight is a good one. I picked up some fresh sheets of pasta and a beautiful Tuscan loaf (very hard crust) this afternoon down on "the Hill" and a med sized lobster (about 2 lbs) down the street when my buddy came in off the water,...good timing So tonight, it's homemade Lobster Ravioli w/ a pink vodka cream sauce served with steamed asparagus. For desert,....(I'll take a pic when it's done) I'm making a white chocolate mousse pie wit a homemade chocolate graham cracker crust and a blueberry sauce drizzled over the lot. If this one doesn't work, I'll eat my hat, lol

This will be your "lightest" option but the more costly of your choices. If weight is your main issue, go alum like Wayne suggests

My "New" Boat Project
Did a little research couldn't find anything on Alum boat inc. Look on the serial number (should be a small alum plate riveted on the transom, could be inside or out). Anyway, the last 2 numbers are usually the year.

You can do floors like in my boat, especially for a 2.5 acre lake. I use 3/8 cdx plywood and I urethane it. It is light and stays light once it is urethaned. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1119359773/0#0

12 footer
If it's a 1236 (36" wide on floor) then I would suggest floors instead of decks. Below is a link to mine, they can be done up to be pretty comfy. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1119359773/0#0

300,000 Miles
I had an 86 Jetta go for 331,000. This current one (99) is nothing like the old one, I'm at 140 and she's limping. I think it might be time to try a truck, I plan on pulling the saltwater boat a lot this year.

Re: TBFA
10 guys, 100+ fish (dead) What is the limit in your state???? As for sponsors, good luck finding ANY company that wants to support something like this. Honestly,...any sponsor I've ever had, would do their best to AVOID being associated with a picture like the one above. If your state agency has set up a selective harvest for that lake, that's one thing and sure, I would help them but I would never post pics of it. It would be like pulling a splinter, something that hurts, but has to be done. However, if you guys just took it upon yourselves to come to the conclusion that this pond needs specific slot management, without having any kind of marine biology background.......I think that's rather irresponsible and if you exceeded your limits, rather illegal.

Clueless people and their views on "fishing"
I'm making a point.... : I've fed myself with my fish and didn't fret on which brand of high quality hook I was using. I still made lots of money and never dropped a fish because the hook gave out. I straightened a Gammy on a 1000lb slob but I had to push the pin on her,...my own decision in which I knew the risk would be a pulled or straightened hook or a fish going to market. Either way, my point is, it wasn't the hook's fault. More to the point is knowing where to be and what depth to drop your baits at to get the bite. Another example, a fish is going to smack a senko if it is in feeding mode and you drop it on it's head. IN MOST CASES, it won't matter if it's a yamamoto or an *** or a Yum, it also won't matter if it's black, green or pumpkin swirl. Hitting him in the head with it while he's feeding is the reason he ate the thing. I'll concur that on occasion, the crucial details (color, fall rate, scents, special dyes, rattles and so on), are very important, but more often than not, they aren't. JMO
