  1. A go to striper bait before it hit the freshwater scene but if you don't like the fluke as compared to a bass assasin (essentially the same action IMO) than I doubt you'll like the sluggo or the Fin-S
  2. well now, that's just cheatin' .....I think there are a few army surplus stores that have small amounts of C4 left if those don't get it done for you,lol ;D I've honestly never seen those before. Interesting.
  3. My "experience' was out on our lake about 3 am. Whatever it was, it could move at a speed of unknown proportions. It was just a light up in the sky that shot down to the horizon line in a split second,...stayed there for about 5-10 seconds and then shot off like lightning,...gone. I was out with a friend who happens to belong to a VERY prominent motorcycle club. (hint- they don't like Mick Jagger much) Needless to say, there isn't much that will make this guy cower. He demanded we get back to shore immediately, he was freaked out,...his exact words were,.."get us to shore, at least we'll have a chance on land" He WILL NOT speak of that night to this day. I will, but not without getting an eerie feeling. Like Robert said, not claiming it was extra-terrestrial but it sure wasn't anything I've ever seen the likes of before or since.
  4. I refuse to associate "guilt" with anything that gives me pleasure,...it's counterproductive
  5. Yup, and we've had about enough of that. This is not a tone we want here. There is no need to attack or provoke another member. Don't worry about "post count", we appreciate every member whether they are a daily part of the community or a someone who only pops in when they have a question. There are all kinds if members, but we're all equal, regardless of something as trivial as post counts.
  6. GO GIRL!!!! AWESOME. On one of your baits no less,...nice
  7. Rookie.... : :) Beautiful FC!!!
  8. whats an echip?
  9. I'm going to have to say "Women's" White cars and white sunglasses have no place on a male.
  10. Slow crankbait around the the deep sides of a flat. I'm finding them about 15 ft down in slightly colder water. (40) If you're on a warming trend, check any shallow, dark bottomed coves.
  11. No, unless you falsely say that you are and any money that comes to you from said affiliation, you may be liable for. But in short, if you just want to promote someone for free ( ), go for it.
  12. No, I certainly didn't mean to slight the workers of the industry, more an attack on the ethics of big biz. Sorry for the confusion. (Just like if you had a beef with UPS policies, it's not me, or the guy that brings your BPS order, that you're angry at. )
  13. I agree. Deck to rear of middle bench seat, add a foot control t/m. Make a floor (like the ones in my boat) for between the middle and rear bench.
  14. I believe I have.
  15. Funny http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_jvD6hrFrE
  16. Big enough to accept the mount on your particular motor
  17. Coming from someone who is too old to go, .....we care, and we appreciate your sacrifice. Our troops and their families are in my thoughts daily.
  18. I've seen that. I remember thinking ..."forget thinking outside the box, this guy was thinking inside the tube" lol My nomination would be an NGK spark plug. I chiseled the lead off of a Pogie snag hook and crimped it into the gap of the spark plug. I was clamming, had a rod, no plugs, bluefish were everywhere. That was the day I learned we can catch them on ANYTHING and started making the our "Woodies" (below)
  19. Understandably,...you catch the smaller fish..... ;D : (a joke of course ) We are neighbors and you're right, in New England, I would say 8"+ for freshwater
  20. Circle hooks are designed for ZERO hookset. You close bail and start reeling (with even pressure) and slowly let the rod load up. Fish on,..it's that simple. ps- Settiing the hook will result in some missed fish. You'll pull it right out of his mouth before the point penetrates. Originally used for live bait and large fish (saltwater, Tuna, etc) they are very popular for shiners and wacky rigging. Basically, any rigging where there is a high risk of a gut hook.
  21. Exactly. Even in saltwater, we have been using 9,10 and 12" shad bodies on umbrella and spreader rigs for cow stripers for years,....they cost about $.80 each!!!! lol Now we call the same thing with a sexy paint job a "swimbait" and pay $50 for it. :
  22. More importantly, don't just add something if you aren't absolutely sure what you're doing. Adding grease where oil should be or oil where grease should be can ruin your reel. Seek the advice or service of a professional before opening your reel.
  23. Water temps at my lake have not broken 36 yet (RI) I've found 4 fish so far, 5 trips out. All came from the same area, off the bottom on the base of the slope that comes off our main flat. We have a shallow water pattern that is fantastic, it involves the shallow, dark back coves. The magic number here is 48 degrees. We've NEVER seen or caught a fish in that water before the water hit 48. I've been back there on 3 of my 5 trips out to scout and so far zip, zilch, nada. Keep in mind this lake is the last in the state to warm. It's deep and it's elevated. I can't wait till it lights up back there, it's some of the coolest fishing of the yr. (literally, lol)
