  1. Amen brother and may PEACE be with you I would think the tourny anglers would lean towards pushing forward and MAKING it happen as having a time restraint adds a new variable that folks like myself and Muddy don't have to factor in.
  2. It may be JUST YOUR OPINION, but it's my MISSION STATEMENT!! ;D You, my friend, are a Low Budget Hooker Good read Catt, I know first hand how intricate the world of patent protection can be when you enter the "intellectual properties" side of things. T-Rig- Being a "connoisseur" of baits, your opinion is different but highly respected. You are like my partner, he wants a bait JUST TO CATCH ON IT and then move on. He epitomizes diversity and versatility. I'm sure your experiences are different from mine as we fish 2 different worlds (not just geographically)
  3. This is more about size than brand. The 7" Gary's don't wiggle any where near a 5" Gary either. Something must change with the dynamic of the larger bait. Something in the resistance. The larger the bait, the less the wiggle. The wiggle they DO have is also slower. As Slomoe points out, WHERE you throw one is more important than the size, color or brand sometimes.
  4. "Back to basics", a term that saved my skiing career and a term I use often. After a big crash (skiing), it's tough to "attack". This is the only way you will win in the freestyle world, being aggressive. To REGAIN CONFIDENCE, my head coach taught me to "go back to basics" Rudimentary "Beginner" drills. This RE-established confidence from the ground up. Sure, at first I would feel silly doing "Stem Christy" turns with the letters U S A on your back, but it only took about 5-10 mins before I was ready to jump back in again. Applied to fishing, it has the same effect. Great point Catt.
  5. What do you do when you get in a slump? Do you walk away for short break, recollect yourself and re-assess your approach or do you "power" through it and fish even harder ? For me, walking away works best. Cool yourself, collect your thoughts, remember why you are out there and go give 'em another try. How about you?
  6. 10's are a tough sell. Not to shoot you down at all, just being realistic but I would pay no more than $100-$150 for a 10. JMO
  7. Catt- Is that a 20 yr old brand loyalty? Says a lot for a company to keep a customer that long and its not like Tommy only catches dinks Mattm- Why no 4/0??? That's all we use. Are you using the 4.5's??
  8. You've only named each extreme side of the scale. I'll take the quality baits that are priced realistically.
  9. Finding them. There other 2 don't exist if you don't find 'em
  10. A WIND ANCHOR!!! I keep a folding grappling anchor under the front seat to be legal but never use it (smallest, most compact anchor out there). I have 2 drift anchors that I use constantly.
  11. AWESOME GUYS!!! Welcome to the forum and to the "Little Boats, Big Fish Club"!!!!
  12. There is some very cool art to see there. This would be a big photography mission I think. Below is a link to a gallery of pics, each yr is in there. LINK

  19. Absolutely not. Stay tuned, this spring I plan on dispelling many "color" myth's (via video). Sure to make waves but,....it's got to be done, lol.
  20. The clothing tip I gave you only applies with 3-6 rods. If I bring 6-12 rods, I lay out a sheet on the floor, lay down one rod and roll it. Then lay down another, laid out with the tip at opposite end when compared to rod #1, and roll again and so on till you have one big bundle of rods, all separated from each other. Now, with the help of a friend, load the whole bundle into the tube. A sock at each end for extra padding and off you go. I have taken this tube, fully extended, on American, United (SUCKS!), and Southwest without being charged extra because of the length.
  21. Anyone ever go? Michelle is trying to talk me into going. We were going to go when we lived in Tahoe but I got shipped off to Japan to ski during that week. Anyone have any experience with this event?
  22. Brothers fishing together-Awesome.
  23. Correct on the bedliner. If there is a leak, eliminate it, don't "compensate" for it. It added a lot of weight and drag. Did not hold up either, it is currently peeling, 2 yrs later. It was NOT because of bad prep work, it just doesn't hold up to us dragging that boat on the rip rap. (I used it on the outside to protect hull while dragging. Most use it as a sealer on the inside.) Again, if there is a leak, fix it, leave this stuff at the Auto parts store. JMO and good luck FB (ps- way to go including your boy in the "mens" work. The boat will be that much more special to him when it becomes his later )
  24. I feel your pain, lol. I did the same thing (orbital w/ 35 grit) before I realized I was doing decked floors,.....wasted alot of time and 35 grit, lol. Before After
