BR Elite-member profiles
We have come up with something we want to try this year. We want to pick special anglers out and do a profile on them so we can all get a little deeper look into the lives of those we respect. The number 1 requirement to be one of the BR Elite, is to be a positive role model for the youth of the site. For all of us for that matter, but especially the youth. Secondly, they should be avid fisherman who are consistent, positive member of the community. We will feature 1 angler/month thusly forming the "BR Elite 12" for the 2008 season. So stay tuned for the announcement of the January Elite member, we hope you enjoy this new feature. The Staff

Ever get Bit by a smallmouth?? it hurts!!!
I took a friend to the hospital who had a mishap with a Bluefish. Put your finger in the mouth of anything over 6-7 lbs and you'll have 1 less finger. Not just a cut up one,....a missing one.

I got a new rod!!

Any experience with this Penn spinning reel?
Ditto. I've owned Penn's for years, from International 130 2 speeds to Power graph spinning gear. I've NEVER owned a Penn product that I didn't have complete confidence in. That reel looks perfect for inshore spinning. Nice looking too, something Penn has never been known for (except the Internationals,....they are drool worthy but at 1k each, they should be) I'd say go for it and if you do, please keep us informed as to how you like it.

You know what grinds my grears
To be more specific, I train UPS drivers. One KEY thing that we can't stress enough is defensive driving. Of course, there is the safety point of view, first and foremost, but as a multi-billion $$ company, we need to impress in or drivers the fact that we are one big target for people who commit insurance fraud. We take defensive driving to a different level. Those guys swerving over usually use the UPS truck as a cut point. People take advantage of the fact that they know we will slow or stop if needed to avoid the accident and that they have a good chance of not catching "road rage" from a UPS driver. It's a screwy world sometimes....

Asking your wife's permission...
Ahhhhh.......The Single Life ;D The grass is always greener on the other side but this is one thread where I'm on the right side by the looks of it. Don't get me wrong, a few of you married guys have it set up right (IMO) but.....I know if I WERE married, understanding my "fishing" would have been one of the pre-requisites to her ever seeing the ring to begin with. .........Probably why I'm still single, lol I've also fished with enough women and had enough longer term relationships with girls that I got into fishing, to know that her being able to be a part of that aspect in my life,.....is something I wouldn't settle for not having.

You know what grinds my grears
Not only annoying, but the cause of many "avoidable" accidents. Use the proper lanes! Right lane- Exiting and entering traffic middle lane- Travel lane Left lane- Passing Lane Now, take it 1 step further... KNOW WHAT LANE YOU NEED TO BE IN BEFORE YOU NEED TO BE IN IT!!!!!

You know what grinds my grears
Dave , see the "sticky's" of each section i.e. Sticky in "Rods/reels" "Rods- Power and Action defined" As for personal reviews of product, that's what the "tackle", "Boating"and "rod/reel" sections are for. This is why we have a search feature. Asking folks to use it is a way to keep the board as clutter free of repetitive threads as possible. If the info you seek was not found through a search, then we know the new thread is pertinent and non repetitive. Adding sections to the forum, makes the board less appealing, believe it or not. Simple is the key. We do our best.

Buying a boat from another state
Not busting your chops TD, just saying that getting it done legally is just as easy as fudging it. Plus, how do you insure it?? God forbid there was ever an accident........

Buying a boat from another state
True, I know where my neighbor keeps her car key, I'm sure I could steal it without getting caught,...should I? I'm not being "over-moral" here, I'm just saying, why fudge it if you can get it done right. Who is to say he didn't steal the trailer?? Who is to say he didn't steal the plate? Who is to say he didn't steal the trailer and put the plate from his other trailer on it? Like you said, it's easy. That's why we have these processes of documentation

Help! How would i be able to do this?
Expensive and unnecessary. You live in a state that is absolutely LOADED with used boats. You now also have eyes in RI , Mass and NH if you need them (Via the members here) Let us know if we can help you find what you're looking for neighbor.

Great idea. Not for me, but great idea.

Buying a boat from another state
There are a few ways to "fudge" it, most illegal, like the suggestion above. I think he's looking to do this "straight up" or it would be done already. In RI, we contact the State Police and make an inspection appointment. THEY EVEN COME TO THE BOAT! They inspect and will either "pass" or "fail" you. If they pass you, they provide you with the paperwork needed to get it through the registry.

Patching jon boat holes --what a glorious faliure
Lesson learned? POST FIRST!!!! We could have helped you avoid this. I would PM Matt 5.0 and ask what you should do from here. He's an ACES welder and will steer you right. Good luck!!
