  1. Also, If you strip one side of the feather off, you can use a little more length of the feather than if you don't. The inside hackle gets buried anyway, one side stands up. By removing one side, it reduces the bulk on the hook shank. As for size, how about a 1/64 adams? I once caught an old guy in the nostril with one of these on my backcast. I never saw someone wince so much from something so tiny.
  2. My thoughts are that prices make it so that pouring your own, after the time involved and the materials needed, costs about the same. So, to save time AND help promote a guy that still caters to the angler,...I'm going to keep getting my baits from RageTail. Of course, I'm always happy to demo new stuff, I'm sure I'll give these guys baits a throw too, I mean, they were made by my buds, how could I not?
  3. The "Boys" dept and "BABY" dept are different,.....punk. : (should you happen to buy one, once the site is up,.......... remind me to double your shipping) ;D
  4. I'm with Tony. Sit a jig on the bottom or go wade some streams. NATHAN_JAMES, a RI member, KILLED em 2 weeks ago going hole hopping. I got 2 nice rainbows for the table from him.
  5. We've got a good size crew here from RI, another from Mass. There are guys here from Ct, Tokyo-Tony for one. Welcome Aboard New Englander!!
  6. Got that right! Way to share Bizz
  7. With the price range you have outlined, I think you are completely nuts not to include the Tierra. I'm in RI if you are curious and want to try one. Best $130 reel I ever purchased. It combos for saltwater as well.
  8. Cliff, you need a "Low Budget Hookers Fishing Team" shirt. After that explanation,....I'm sure it will fit. ;D
  9. If you fish it before construction is done and they are "disturbing" the bottom,.....get down stream and set up shop. Here, when we are bull raking clams in the bay, the stripers sit about 100 yrds away sifting through all the sediment we stir up. Lots of food is released when you disturb the bottom like that. Just saying, don't be discouraged if they are working, just modify your plan to try something new.
  10. Its the place where God resides, I bet he gets a ton of mail, I would never want that UPS route!! Herbert Hoover, Johnny Carson, Ann Landers, Hawg_Hunter!!
  11. Sorry dude, no pity party for you, you have way too many fish under your belt. later in life perhaps, you'll realize how lucky you are to have a hobby you love that is not negative. It is rarer and rarer these days. In other words,....you could be doing worse things. either way, we're happy to have both of you
  12. You have to have it to lose it LBH ;D Well, I thought I did, but either way, I won't know if I still do till April or May-ish. ;D
  13. Gotchya. I've probably heard you mention it a few times also then, yes?
  14. I think we have a little confusion here. Mike is just saying,..."if you aren't gonna eat them, here's a tip help keep them healthy for release." (And it's a good one.) Is Pickwick a big tourny lake or just a big lake? It's name is awfully familiar but not sure why.
  15. Shouldn't you be somewhere else picking bugs off a close friend or something? My buddy bassnajr found a deal that will make you cringe, can't wait for the link. Can't argue with success, that trailer helped put you in the winners circle more than once, besides, young son,...your roots are still growing.
  16. GYCB Swimming Senko, Fat Ika, Kreature, Kut-Tail, Hula Grub and Flappin' Hog? : They runnin' a sale? Buy 2 of each and get 1/2 off a Ranger? ;D
  17. GYCB Swimming Senko, Fat Ika, Kreature, Kut-Tail, Hula Grub and Flappin' Hog? : Wait a second,....if one of you guys I was with Saturday had hit the lottery and didn't even buy lunch, ...... ;D Otherwise, nothing forgotten, but lots learned. Black is back and they're cheaper than crack! Brent, stock up amigo, it's that time again,.....roll film. RW, you're more consistent than yo-zuri hybrid! I love it!! (It's really great how a heated rivalry has turned around and turned into a great source of humor for both of us and everyone who follows it. It's gonna be a long, very funny season Gentlemen, rig your worm,....on your mark,....get set,.....)
  18. just a jab from the "color is irrelevant" campaign I'll be running this yr Buy lots of black, leave the glitter in the arts & crafts box, and pour em by the hundreds. It's getting closer every day
  19. Absolutely. I wish he wasn't into playing the fusion stuff so much, I just don't like the genre. Looks like DW was no fool and signed this kid up on their kits asap. Man, they make some beautiful sounding stuff, I love a mic'd set, but especially when it's one of theirs. ,...Dennis Chambers can't take his eyes off him. I love seeing the old appreciate the new. and yes Dom, it looks like this kid is one of the ones where if you give them 100 drums to hit, he'll hit all 100 !! lol For those of you who have never looked into playing the drums. is a clip to show you just what you can't see. It's not just a fast roll, every tap has a purpose and a proper position. NOW go back and watch one of the previous clips and think about all the stuff you can't "see"
  20. We forgot to grab that drift sock As for poppers, I would go investigate that ebay score that bassnajr found!!
  21. These guys are new at the game but they showed me some very nice baits this weekend. All those different colors though,....don't know what all the fuss is there,...no black? : ;D 8-) Keep pourin' guys!! Great job so far!
  22. Who could hate Michigan???? With all those toothy critters to catch, who cares about football!! I will say this though,...you guys sure get some tricky weather up there.
  23. no doubt. Like,...."Where'd it go?" shrinkage, lol It's kind of cool, this internet thing. I have HawgHunter (Darrin) in Iowa and Muddy in Pa. First I hear from Darrin, telling me what the weather that will be here in 2-3 days is like and then I get Muddy's report the next day and then it hits us,lol. No excuse not to be prepared, lol.
