  1. Yes, it makes sense but why is it any different than getting something replaced from any other company that had a screw up, ie, Shimano, Kistler, etc?? I don't see where Kistler deserves such criticism for a mistake when mistakes are common throughout the industry. I just don't get why they are singled out here. If they didn't learn from their mistakes or had bad service concerning replacements I could understand but they are stellar in both categories JUST LIKE the brands you support. So why are they singled out, am I missing something? (surely not being confrontational, I am just a bit lost here I think)
  2. On the Bienvillle show, he was pushing Frogg Toggs and "garbage baggy" boots. He had plastic bags on his feet in a med size rain storm,.....in Fla,lol. Hey Roland,....Gore -Tex comes in all kinds of shoes too!! Surprised the bags didn't say Frogg Toggs on them,...same classic fit, lmao But on a better note,.....the FISH, oh man,...monster after monster
  3. same here. Something to think about is, when we got the paddle as kids, what did we feel? GUILT!! We KNOW mom/dad didn't WANT to do that. I remember the words,..."this is gonna hurt me more than it's gonna hurt you" and although my thoughts at the time were "yea, right!"..... now that I'm older, I fully understand and am appreciative of the lesson. Now, every family is different, abuse is a whole different can of worms but when it comes to lessons necessary to get through life, I'm all for it.
  4. Now you do Tony, Fish Fish, Tony There, you've even been formally introduced, lol
  5. Are you saying Kistler won't make it right??
  6. Cool man, hope you guys fill the boat!
  7. I agree. Great rods for the $ (now)(and better service to boot)
  8. So would this time frame for you folks be the equivalent to our much shorter "fall feed" up north or is this more of the beginning of pre-spawn??

  14. Well, I have to say that the kids we take out on CAST events do pretty well on the bass boats. Pontoon boats are fantastic if you have lots of wheelchairs at once or kids who are tentative about getting on the bass boats (they do intimidate some kids, rare, but it happens) If you watch the videos in my profile, you'll see 2 CAST events and a NEPVA (paralyzed vets) event. These show a few different loading situations. This is the toughest part, loading your guests safely. So mods wise, there's nothing I can really think of, most boats work fine already. Participating in a CAST event or in any club events that do these kind of things is a big help on all sides as well. Not only are you contributing to the cause but you learn from other captains, some of the tricks. A couple suggestions. Give a launching speech. Explain safety, where things are on the boat, the fish finder (kids think it's a tv and love to just press buttons, keep it "off" to avoid losing stored settings, etc. Explain that you are there completely to assist them. Tell them to ASK QUESTIONS, you are there to teach, encourage it. Lastly, have a blast, you won't regret this
  15. Shimano had issues with certain reels too. Now I got great customer service from them too so I'm not picking on them but does that mean you'll never buy a Shimano either Raul? Things happen. Mistakes are made, it's how the company deals with you as their current and possible future customer that matters. Again, I got great service from both. Kistler also had issues with the 1st run of the spinning magnesiums as well and they were all handled the same way mine was. Replacement sent 1st. Has ANY other company done that? Not fighting, ...asking. These are the only situations I've personally been involved in. Which brings to mind that often it can be as simple as how you talk to them when you call but regardless, warranty shouldn't depend on personality.
  16. I think it's just the anglers call, especially seeing how the death wasn't intentional. If you keep it, you honor it, if you let it go, it still feeds the ecosystem becoming food for cays, turtles, etc Personally i don't like the taste of bass. If I knew someone that did, I would pass it along , cleaned of course, but I don't.
  17. No doubt dsa, they can catch a monster from time to time but it's claim to fame is throwing it at edges, under trees, etc, typical bank beating. Used in this application, you can fill a boat. Great numbers lure and great lure for bringing someone to the next level (lots of action and they can now learn how to deal with double trebles) I would do like Raul said and turn the one from your dad into an heirloom. Sure, it's an everyday Rapala right now but 30 yrs from now when it's sitting on your sons trophy shelf, it will have a whole different meaning.
  18. ok...i see. Thanks!!! And how often do you "burn" a jig. If anything, a ratio like this is an excellent suggestion for guys looking to get to the next level with jigs. This almost forces you to slow down. i.e. the next level, slowing down and creating discipline
  19. Correct me if I'm wrong Tin but wasn't it going to cost you an arm and a leg to send back 3 rods to Croix WHEN YOU WERE SPONSORED? Boat's not full of those anymore, lol. As for Kistler, I have owned 1, mag ts (spinning) Loved it. Called Kistler on it and the new one was sent BEFORE I sent in the old one. They said to use the new tube to send the other one back. I paid 1 way shipping, that's it. No "$30 replacement cost or surcharge or anything. I accidently kicked it overboard 2 days later but,.... Just my experience. Raul- Wanna sell those? Being a piece of junk, I'm hoping they are cheap? I'll use them for tent poles or something, $20-$30 a piece?
  20. I knew "TrimSpa" had no place in Bass Fishing!!! ;D
  21. Monster Bass dying of old age. Catch and release at it's finest
  22. Exactly how many people does that Porsche Spyder hold? ;D
