  1. It will be in New England stores for the spring
  2. Awesome! You were close with the pics. I fixed the first one. All you had to do was highlight the link you had and then click the "image" icon (above the "underline" icon) If you go "modify" the original post, you'll see what it looks like
  3. Let me take you back. The year, 1989. Place: American Fish Culture, Carolina, RI (same place where now have the CAST for kids Alumni gathering) This is back when it was a private fly fishing club. I was dating Bill's granddaughter Michelle and he learned I love fishing. After Bill and Michelles dad Bob (from the striper video) each took turns taking me as a guest a few times, Bill got me my own membership-don't ask how, there was a waiting list. For the next few years I got to experience the art of fishing. On this particular day, the ice was going to be here soon. With frozen fingers, Bob and I had been working fish all morning. Soon, we see Granpa's Jeep coming around the corner. (Sideways, as usual, lol) Granpa came out on the dock with 3 steaming hot bowls of Beef stew, 3 coffees and some homemade Bread. We ate, we warmed, and I learned for the first time that I was just tricked into eating Venison! lol Been eating it and tricking people the same way, ever since
  4. Forgot to mention. This is the guy that GAVE me my first saltwater boat This was the boat we were using when the name "Lowe Budget Hookers" was born.
  5. Was it released? (just curious, I hear they are very good eating) That will sure make for a memorable trip, like FC said,....with a line in the water, anything can happen. Good for you guys! (Nice bass too!!)
  6. CGH- I don't understand how that will stop the crack, I've "sewn" one before (plastic canoe) and we did it like stitches. Crisscrossed all the way up the crack. Like shoe lacing.
  7. Thanks Jeremy. As we both know, tuna store the fat in between the flesh layers but this stuff is different, all in one place, so I wasn't sure. Odd, with stripers, it's red, but same area, same powerful taste.
  8. I have a friend that works at a sign shop, they do a lot of boat lettering. I got these last 2 for cost but the LBH one would be roughly $150 for 2 decals (1 for each side) and the "Rusty Hooks" is about $65 retail Gold leaf/blk trim Chrome/blk trim
  9. Ballast will only make the boat heavier, not so much stabler. Rear motors stay on full bore, steer with the front. (the multiple motors are only used for travel. Bow mount steers during travel and is the primary [and usually only] propulsion when fishing)
  10. 2 anchors will also do it. Be aware of how you set the boat up, concerning which way it is facing. If it's windy, always place the bow of the boat into the wind , especially when double anchored. Drop offs show as a downward line as the depth reading gets higher. Visually, it's depicting the graduating slope under the boat as the depth increases. It's the changes in structure like that which can often hold bass. Drop offs next to a "flat" are great. The bass will use that area to rest (in the safety of this deeper water) and then move up on to that flat to feed.
  11. Does anyone know (for sure) what the dark meat is that is on certain filets like salmon, striper, etc I always remove it, it is usually the culprit if something is "TOO" fishy. I always assumed it was a fat layer seeing as how it is always between the skin and flesh. Anyone know for sure?
  12. Below is a link to a page that is an organization that does a ton for kids. They have a new line of commercials out that really get to the point. They have a resource page, on it are a few links that can really help to keep you and your kids aware. Take a few minutes to catch up on the things you need to know. Links page
  13. NH rules Many from RI, Mass.,VT and Maine go there to buy their cars, boats and other big $ items. Saves quite a chunk
  14. Interesting. Might be a bit "hard" to rest your boat on but the the boat would slide off much easier. Hmmmmmm
  15. Uh-oh,....Idea for '09 video segment noted to self. Matt--Dirk,Tin and I will have to give you the pb&J dance every time you hit one with that jig, deal? ;D
  16. They almost look like a Peacock got in the bedroom
  17. I became a member here on May 12, 2005. Haven't had a need for a magazine since.
  18. welcome aboard! Yes, there is a good chance that the bite you have grown accustomed to has changed. Not disappeared, just changed. The bass will relate, most often, to what it's food source is doing. Wind can be a big factor in that. With an 8.5 in the boat, you're off to a good start though. Buy an anchor, find the deepest part of that 50 acres and start fishing (on the bottom first) If you're still having troubles, we have lots of Ga anglers who would love to come spend the day and show you folks a few new things to try. If not, I'm available for the 2nd week in March ;D 8-)
  19. I am on the same page with you. When I was using the extremes for jigging, I noticed one day that they were very tip heavy. I bought and slowly added the counterbalance kit sold by BPS. By the time it was balanced, it didn't feel right anymore. I'm going to go back and read DavidG's articles now and see why. As always Dave,, you're a great resource! Thanks
  20. He was a typical salty dog. A captain among captains. Ornery, demanding and it ALWAYS had to be done his way (which was usually the right way but no one would ever admit it ) Man, we miss him already
  21. Well, that covers Cali and Florida , but what about New England?? We need some help, we have our own way to hunt a trophy,....we throw snow balls at 'em
  22. Welcome Aboard!!
  23. This is how he works ,...in a nutshell. You think it's a bad thing to be at BPS every weekend, Mr Monkey (notice the term of respect) thinks there are much worse placess a kid could be. He's the good and the bad in all of us.
