  1. That link would be great, this house was built in 1875. We each have our own hot water heater, they are the small ones. I can barely get a good long shower out of it, I would rather spend a little more money there if I could get a longer shower, any suggestions? The idea of overall energy savings, while appealing, is not my major concern. The system we have is old and I don't think it is accurate. I want to disconnect my apartment from using it altogether. There is 1 huge furnace and 6 circulators coming off it (6 apts here). Each circulator is on it's own meter. This is how he judges who used how much oil. I just can't see how it could possibly cost $200+/month to heat a 20x20 room on the 3rd floor.
  2. Thanks for the link KYbass. I ended up getting the DeLonghi oil filled radiator. It's just that my oil bill for last yr avg'd $200/month. I live in a 2 room studio apt. The whole thing is roughly the size of a large master bedroom. I'm on the 3rd floor but that "heat rises" theory doesn't apply much here. Main doors stay shut and the hallways are not heated so I really don't get any help from below. I figured, even if this thing costs me another $75 in electricity, I'm still ahead of the game. The only thing is that it is a low amount of heat that is put out, knocks the chill out of the air but it takes a while to get there. I am waiting on the first elec bill, if it has increased less than $50, I'll get another one.
  3. I will be going back to "on road" training, giving safety rides, in January. I got some tricks up my sleeve this time. Gonna make 'em think!
  4. Awesome report, Awesome fish, AWESOME JOB
  5. Really? I see a lot of people fishing live bait and catching little bitty fish, but I do know a few guys that catch some pretty good ones on live bait. <------------------------------------ : You bagged yourself, we all thought you EARNED those : DOH I think they should be separate. You drop a shiner in our lake and you will witness a disappearing act. When Erics kids were younger, we showed up w/ a dozen. (for Nick to play with if he wasn't into fishing, lol) 12 baits, 12 drops, 12 fish, 3 over 4 lbs. We felt guilty. We spent the rest of the day teaching Nick how to cast and he actually had more fun doing that. Our state record has been broken twice since I got into the game. Both times, by trout fisherman on opening day, using live bait. A meal worm is responsible for our current state record and that's just plain embarrassing.
  6. Welcome Josh. Sit down, we can help
  7. Be proud, be VERY proud! ;D Anyone else have any "Favorite Fans" pics?
  8. I've found that multiple gloves is the best bet. They WILL get wet so have a dry pair (or 3 or 4) ready to go
  9. no, he is referring to the "space cushion" between the 2 vehicles. The way it is taught is that you mark when the vehicle in front of you passes an object on the side of the road (hydrant, for example). If you are going less than 30 mph, you want to have a count of 3-6 seconds before you pass the same object. This creates your "space cushion"
  10. Yea, been there, freaks you out. I drove away shaking, unsure of everything around me that I took for granted. Gives you an appreciation for the guys that show up to save your life, they need to put that emotion aside and make cool calculated decisions.
  11. I second the vote for the Rapala pliers. The split ring tip is a savior, not just for split rings but for tracing the hook down eep in the throat and retrieving it.
  12. It will work to fix the leak and will flex with the boat but you need to stop the crack from getting any bigger first. Your best bet is a plastic welder but not everyone has access to someone who can do that. It will not be a lifelong fix either. the marine adhesive/sealant (5200) is designed as a waterproof glue. It will work for a while but this is not it's intended purpose.
  13. If there is no yield sign (there are a few on ramps in RI with them) then you do not yield. You should be building speed to easily enter the flow of traffic.
  14. Lucky me, I get to go over accident reports all day. There is one scenario that has come up twice and is totally avoidable. This is where your driving "tip of the week" comes from. 3 lane hwy. Right lane is the "exiting and entering traffic" lane Middle lane is the TRAVEL lane Left lane is the PASSING lane. Do not "travel" in the right or left lane unless you apply to their names!! i.e.- Driving in the right lane is NOT the "safest" place to be as many seem to think. It is NOT the "slower traffic" lane. -and as always, If the wheels are moving, the belt is on.
  15. I don't get it,.....must be a Southern thing ;D ;D

  19. Thompson's-YES As for the foam, I would glue each side. The Lowes carpet is what we use on our jons also.
