Anyone watching this series? Michelle and I look forward to it all week, I think it's awesome. Some of these kids should have some very proud parents at home,...others,...not so much.

3/8 cdx, cheap stuff, that's all you need. Coat it a few times with polyurethane and carpet it. Using the thinner plywood keeps it light. Keeping them removable is the way to go.

Fishing charters
The first one I would do is a smallie trip to Winnie, during the spawn, with a guide for the day. If you had your own boat, I would say to do the 1/2 day and then go apply what you learned with your own boat but seeing as how you don't have one, do the whole day, you won't regret it.

Sounddomain.com Clusterhearaches.com Swedespeed.com fullspeedfishing.com neurohealth.com Strokelandrecords.com BumpCity.com These are the most frequented ones I have joined. There are multiple other ones I have joined to learn about something specific like plants, recipes, etc Forums are by far my favorite resource for ANY project I undertake. Speaking with a variety of people with actual experience on the topic and no agenda,...priceless.

bullet weight size question
The main factor for me is the weed base you are fishing. If I want the bait to get down in the weeds so I can pop it out, I'll go a little heavier (1/8 and up). If I want to get it down but not penetrate (rest on top of weed bed), I go lighter (1/16-1/8). If you are looking to punch it through thick, floating matt, go 3/4 and up. 1 oz is common for punching. Second factor would be the depth you are fishing. How fast do you want it to get there (are you targeting fish on the bottom? you want it to get there quicker) if you are targeting fish that are suspended in the column, you want a slower fall to keep it in front of them longer. 3rd would be, how do the fish want it. If they are hitting something falling slowly, less weight, something fast, more weight. Lastly would be to adjust these guidelines according to the buoyancy of the bait you have on.

What issues do you have with the ribs? The floors go ON TOP of the ribs. This allows any leaking water or water from the anchor, to flow UNDER the decks, thusly keeping your gear, or anything on the floor, dry. Where the ribs come from the floor and go up the sides, you simply notch out the wood to allow for them. Now they serve to keep the floor from shifting also Be sure to cut a 1/4 inch extra off the perimeter of the board to allow for the carpet to wrap under, this includes the notches cut for the ribs. I use a big piece of cardboard to make a template first. Good luck.

NEW (AND BEST EVER) SOUTH FLORIDA GET TOGETHER
I wanna go Also, in the spirit of Christmas, perhaps a $20 lunker pool. Winner takes 1/2, the other 1/2 can go in the salvation Army can at the local grocery store or (something that has worked well here) go to the local tackle shop and ask the owner if there is a certain kid that has been coming in a lot who is worth hooking up (pun intended) Guys, have fun, be safe and post pics after!!

Use your head
Excellent. We contemplated buying a small ceramic heater (12v) The torch will fit the same bill and be more resourceful (Starting fire on shore, etc), cheaper and easier to store. (plus I often drop my Cigarette lighter into the wet part of the boat, lol) Sidenote- as with a fire extinguisher, store the propane cylinder as far away from the fuel source as possible,...and store it securely. Excellent. Thanks

John, Adding floors, to an alum "V" is VERY easy, VERY cheap and makes a HUGE difference in comfort. Having a level floor is priceless. I would try this first before dumping that boat and getting a flat bottom.

Pickerel...... darn snakefish !!!!
Lone wolves. You may find them concentrated in certain areas but that is because they are using the same structure/cover. They do not travel or congregate in open water together.

You CAN do it but it would be a much more comfortable and safe boat if you did floors instead of decks.

Fishing charters
1. Mass. is loaded with productive lakes. 2. the 6 person charter does not break down like you think. If a 6 person charter is $600, that does not mean that 2 of you can go for $200. The boat needs the $600 to leave the dock, it will be $300 each if you want to go with just 2 guys, but that is saltwater. 3. Come to Guntersville with us. 4. Going to El Salto, the cost runs in the thousands. Just some points.
