  1. Who are you?????? ;D welcome back man.
  2. This has to be the same stuff they used on the Daiwa Tierra spinning, you described it to a "T" Good luck with those!! My boat is red and my custom rod(s) color scheme is purp/blue on black blanks,.....I want them both also!! lol
  3. He has decided to move on for his own reasons. He can be contacted through his site
  4. Not busting your chops but is this from an engineers report or your opinion? What ya really need to do is just find a couple Beavers
  5. You're a good sport man,lol The "lube" part, is that so the bait gets in the mouth cavity better or to help limit tearing or both?
  6. Same situation with a small community here, they have had a puddle for the last 3 yrs. When you pull into the rd that accesses the lake area, there is a "thermometer" type gauge that shows the goal and how much $ they have raised. They now have the $$ and I believe they start construction next spring. I believe it is 350k they are raising. Their dam is in no way as bad as yours, unfortunately, theirs only required a small portion to be repaired but it was a critical area, the outflow. That was 350k,just an example.
  7. Or... you could just buy the basic shad body baits if you're talking about stripers. Been using them for years,....it's the tail folks, sorry to say,lol Anything with a paddle tail works for stripers to 30 lbs or so. After that, (around here anyway) you need to go deeper for bigger fish, wire lining,.....too much drag w/ shad bodies. Many guys WILL, however, use a single 9" shad body to get that deep. No fancy pattern, no sexy eye, no hollow body,....just a paddle tail. HYPE-LOVE IT! l
  8. LMAO, on the same theory as my golf game,.....aim 3 fairways to the right and my slice will bring it back to the fairway in front of me,lol,
  9. OK, add "snorkel" to the list, lol. That's the problem, they rip on the cast. I didn't even know that swimbaits get torn. Now at 15-50 dollars a pop, THAT'S a product I would repair!! Out of curiosity, where do S/B's tend to tear? The only ones I've used with any consistency are Matt's and I've never had one rip.
  10. Lack of Shad syndrome, I hear ya! When I read reports from guys further south about shad being pushed into the back waters, I get so jealous I could pop. We have a lot of success with anything you can fish on the bottom and slowly. Jigs Shakeys drop shots Most soft platics The key is SLOW. And go deeper than normally. These fish bed down in the deep grasses. They often migrate during the peak warming hours to forage the bait that has gathered around the rocks. Rocks are radiators in the spring and fall, USE 'EM!
  11. Crestliner,...you take hitchhikers? (I'm in RI, can be there in 50 mins)(Quabbin)
  12. I think I'd rather see a few scratches than see linex there. Think about it. How are you setting up the bumpers? Also Are you tying with a spring line?
  13. I just want to add that my comments are merely my opinion based on MY experiences. I know a few guys here in RI that love their basstender type boats. There are more that own jons than tenders but still, the ones that like them are very loyal.
  14. And soap! The motor is more important. If you use a t/m,...it sure better be a saltwater one like a riptide. Freshwater models don't last very long once exposed to the salt.
  15. I was wondering the same thing! lol Man,...you remind me of the guy "Shleprock" on the Flintstones , the guy with the black cloud that follows him around,...."Oh me, Oh my...." Dirk got rear ended yesterday,..........I think the party is tomorrow night, lmao If you really didn't get hurt, it ain't such a bad thing dude. I was rearended at a light a few yrs back. Zero injury and I had to replace my trunk lid. I even found a black one at the scrap yard, loaded it with sound dampner and I was good to go. The insurance company all but begged me to accept the check for 5k to sign off on the whole thing. I explained ..."But I'm not injured..." and he explained that it is worth 5k for them to not have to worry about future claims. Well,...I ain't dishonest but moreover, I ain't stupid. Cashed and spent.
  16. I think they should mix it up a bit. Don't tell the teams which way they will run the track (around to the right or around to the left) till a few days before the race (to allow for car set up). I just think it would be a hoot. All your life making a left hand turn..........can they make a right? Would be entertaining to see,lol
  17. I disagree. What we have been left with because of these rules and regulations is a board with more "active" members than any other out there. That's a win to me.
  18. Michelle- Kudos on Kyle,....Money can't buy a smile like that!!
  19. Yup,...learned that one a long time ago. I meet and greet people alllllll day long at my job. I'm full of greetings like "have a great weekend" on Fridays,............"Ma'am" will get you some leers, lol. I really like Hanks saying though This is how we roll, if you don't like it.....BOUNCE
  20. My vote is for a jon. X100 The smaller plastic boats like KU uses have 2 major set backs when compared to an aluminum jon, space and leakage. The 2 we had in the past both ended up leaking at the seam (2 diff brands, one was a pelican and the other I'm not sure) No fun pullinh THAT thing up to the trailer full of water. A jon can be configured to give you lots of room. Below is a link to my current boat. Jons can be found by simply driving around in a lake community on the weekend and leave a note on every door that has a jon in the yard, you'll notice that many are overgrown with moss, etc. An offer of a couple Ben Franklins to remove what many homeowners see as an eye sore,...usually works. Many of these boats were left behind as kids went off to college. Just leave a properly written note explaining that you noticed the boat and if interested in selling to call (your # here) The note can be generic and you can bring a bunch of copies with you. You'll be surprised how many call backs you get. Good luck MY BOAT
  21. DOH!! Father and son,....can you feel the love??? ;D
  22. The stuff you are looking for is "starboard". It's a plastic based composite, used to replace wood in marine applications. The stuff is great, we used it for all the backing plates on the rod holders on the tuna boat. A piece that size will cost you about $15-$25. Worth it. you'll never deal with it again.
  23. I've used a 14 and 16 for years in the salt. Extra cleaning with soap and water is all you need. Like Boatnik mentioned, they don't make that model anymore but on a bigger note, they don't make them like that anymore,....period. Thicker gauge aluminum, deeper gunnels,...friggin bulletproof. I will not buy a jon that is less than 30 yrs old now.
