some more topwater action
"Glide" as in like a super fluke does when you kill it? Can u link me to a glide bait? (doesn't have to be the one you used, just an example ) Many swimaits, I don't have the patience for. I know how deadly a hit on a dying bait can be, it might be the one that gets me in the S/B game. I know it will only take 1 good fish and my days of throwing for a dozen 2 pounders are over, lol.

Name 1 thing you learned
Everyone, keep in mind that many of the replies here, especially the detailed or specific ones, are things that are coming off the top of someones head. These "1" thing(s) are things that have brought many anglers to a whole new level This is like a "best of..." if you will so if you are here to learn, listen up.

Name 1 thing you learned
First off, I wan't to acknowledge that there are quite a few senior members here who aren't here so much to learn anymore, but nonetheless,...are a continuous flow of info for newer or "growing" anglers. From answering repetitive questions to sharing local knowledge (doesn't happen on just any board) to actually taking members who are primarily bank anglers, out in your boats. Well,...Thanks! We really appreciate your loyalty and dedication, for real guys, thanks alot on behalf of the entire staff and all the members you have affected. With that said, I would like you all to............. Name 1 thing you learned and give props to the member you picked it up from.

small, value based manufacturers
This isn't a "debatable" thread, lol. I am looking for the names of companies that you guys use out of respect, in short. Companies, distributors, manufacturers, hand pourers, rod builders, reel repairers, they all work here.

That one moment,...you knew
Another "root" to a lot of our stories, making dad proud. this is something Dirk is awesome with. He will make sure he tells his wife (Julie) all about how awesome the boys did and their particular achievements for the day, making sure they are juuuust within earshot. I think it's extremely important for a child to know they are respected in dads eye and this is such a fundamental and natural way for a dad to do that.

insanely leaky old jon boat
You need a few people, this theory may also work if you put weight on the seats while on the saw horses, the boat will flex, but not as much as in the water. It very well could be 3 or 4 that leak bad when flexxed and still findable. If you still don't find them, Next step is to completely dry the floor. Cover it in dishsoap. a bottle should do. Launch and look for bubbles. circle quick and get boat back out of water. It's illegal to enter many detergents into public water, rinse boat back at home.

Locks of Love
Many of you may recall Stratosdadri's daughter Delainey who raised the 1k for this yrs CAST event with a fund raiser ice out tournament/high school project and then got all the kids PFD's from Stearns when she made the Jr. World Championships this year and spoke to the right person down in Arkansas. well this is something that I think she has done before, not sure, but just did it again recently. It was the first I had heard of this org and thought I would post about them to try and create a bit of awareness. If anyone has a wife, daughter, hippie son, who is getting ready to "go short", please show them the link below. They take the cuttings (10" minmum I believe) and make hairpieces for kids who have lost theirs from medical treatments, etc. LOCKS OF LOVE This is Delainey before During and after Just another EASY way to make a huge difference in someones life. Self esteem is a big deal for kids of all ages and this is a pain free donation that really helps them keep that chin up. If you know anyone contemplating the big cut,....pass this along.

insanely leaky old jon boat
I used the bed liner and wouldn't do it again. It is ok as a layer on the inside for insurance but is in no way a marine sealant. I used it on the outside as an abrasion protection coat as we slide the jon over alot of rock to launch. To seal a jon with many leaks, provided they are rivet leaks and not leaks where the alum was worn too thin and cracked, there is 1 real easy, cheap, full proof method. -Buy a box of tapered head bolts, lock washers and nuts (stainless) 1/2 inch is fine, you don't want long ones. -put boat on saw horses and have a yellow or white crayon ready. -Place hose in boat -look underneath and circle all leaking rivets -drill out all bad rivets -replace from the bottom with bolt. Before tightening nut on inside, put dab of 3m 5200 (marine adhesive/sealant) on the threads of the bolt. (do not get this stuff on clothes. keep as neat as possible using tiny, clean dabs on each bolt) -You may want to deck the floors now because of the bolts sticking up a bit. Simple plywood cut to the shape of the floor openings will do. Covering with an inexpensive indoor/outdoor carpeting makes it even nicer. This also adds a ton of sound dampening to the boat, a must for all jons IMO Good luck, PM if you have any questions -

So what would you guys do ???
IMO, you are over-disciplining yourself. Diversify. Even if it means setting unrealistically crazy goals for plan B. At least allow yourself to explore plan B. Especially with the travel involved in your excursions.
