  1. Nicols mango jig with an *** fork craw trailer This jig is SUPERIOR in it's weedlessness. (cone shaped head)
  2. Yesterday, I think we could have caught them on a cigarette butt they were so easy! It was like the spawn, fantastic. we used everything from an assortment of *** plastics, Sticks, slim sticks, beavers and the 7" ribbontail. we also hsad luck with a few different jigs, topwaters (j-bug, spook) and a strike king s/b (wht/gold) This morning it was another story all together. The fish hadn't shut off completely but were much more tight lipped than yesterday. Seems they were quite picky in what the wanted, the *** sticks worked of course but the only other plastic I had luck with was the beavers. Dirk threw a tube for 2 fish also but the beavers were the highliner with 5 fish. Soon, within the next month we will be jigging and jigging only. There will be a crankbait stage in between there where we always have great luck with the old silver/blue/orange risto rap. Fall is around the corner,....leaves are changing in RI
  3. Get your butt home safe, we got bass back here that miss you badly!
  4. Burley, Although your reasoning is more than believable............ that policy has changed through the years. Now it is more of the drivers discretion after p/o ing too many moms with napping kids and disturbing too many dogs with attitudes who are now surprised awake by a stranger on their turf, etc. Now we aim more at making sure it is in your travel route. At the side door that is used for walking to the car as opposed to the front door, etc. A note on the door oe where previous packages have been left, when something is expected, will do the trick. Communicate with your driver.
  5. I guess at 40, "worn out" and "warmed up" look the same ;D Long night, Heineken on tap (Low Budget Style) Harvest Moon is a moon full of traditions for me and Dirk, it's fun no matter what, we do some stupid stuff, lol. Sam, it WAS down in the 40's at beginning of week, today was last day of strong warm front (topped at 90 yesterday). when we got out we were in shorts and t's, got cooler as morning came on. ANOTHER
  6. .....invite them to me 'n my sisters wedding, that way they are good and drunk when I show thems my Boonsville county award winning...
  7. Check out this fish from this morning, it's so fat, it has cleavage!!
  8. Well, I wasn't positive if it was the shirt or my new Bang Cologne but seeing as how you also slaughtered them on the chunk, wearing the same shirt......looks like I'll be wearing dirty clothes tomorrow, lol
  9. Gotta love it when the harvest moon ( a sure sign for northern fish to start feeding for the winter) and a warm front team up. we couldn't miss them if we tried this morning too!! Nice to see the wealth spread out!
  10. Just a quick note to say that I have reversed the Mook Shirt Mojo!!! Dirk and I hit the lake around 5 this morning, with this harvest moon, 85 degree temps and 5 mph winds, the recipe for success was already mixed, we just needed to throw the whole concoction in the oven, lol That's just what we did. 46 fish in 4.5 hrs with a 6.1, 2x5's and 5x4's. What a day,...the curse is reversed!!.
  11. Many people do not know that you can turn a laptop into a very good GPS unit. Great point Burley. Me on the other hand,....ain't so thrilled. As of last Monday, the computer board you see the UPS man carrying (DIAD IV) does WAAAAY too much now. I won't go into detail and bore you all but it's all based around tying GPS to every keystroke entered into that stupid thing. Now my supervisor can be 10 towns away and pull up my truck # in his palm pilot and see a. Exactly where I am on a map overlay, can even tell if I am moving B. How many stops are in my board, how many done, how many left, right down to the # of packages at each stop. YUK

  13. Well,...I know where the scratches came from (we got a little aggressive poaching the dam, lol) There was definitely something going on with the clear coat in a few spots, when I was there Ranger was already on the phone apologizing w/o having even seen the boat. Robert- What was the deal w/ the T/M? Bad Breaker?
  14. FishChris? Care to answer the man?
  15. Funny, one of the things that I noticed on my Cali trip was just how dry/arid the state really is. Rolling fields and hills of browned out grasses, etc, really makes a little more sense when we watch these huge fires back east, on the news,....Point being...lol, is that it is always clear and sunny in California. at least for each and every hour I was there, lol. Here in the east, a storm can rumble in and out on a sunny day in the matter of an hour, often leaving rainbows and many "wet" photo opportunities (water always adds to a picture) That "custom mode" could be enhanced one more level and give you 3-5 presets. That would be sweet. Luckily, when you set that up at home, there is a 88% chance that the weather will be identical when you are on scene. I still wish I had a mode like that, it would be nice for many reasons, even to use as a reference point when searching for al;l the right settings to deliver a specific shot. sidenote- Have you ever "tested" that dry case? I had the orange one (exact same as yours but next size up) it failed. Horribly. Careful. I now use my normal travel case and put it inside my North Face dry bag
  16. The smallies get bigger, the closer you get,lol....maybe a record for #500? Go in style!
  17. Those are certainly some odds that perk the ears,...no sightings in 40 yrs and then 4 in 2 days,...wonder if their food is getting scarce as we near the fall season?
  18. That's awesome man!!! Good luck and good health to all!!
  19. Refer to the chart the pros use,... the KU Graph KU Graph
  20. Awesome, thanks for the screensaver
  21. my kind of water!! Follow that sammy with a super fluke!!! Also, just because they aren't up top, doesn't mean they aren't there and aren't feeding hard. Get deeper into that school when they are submerged, cranks, husky jerks, weighted Flukes, etc
  22. Try January or February.... :-X easy guys...Dave is just happy to be here but is not as familiar with forum protocol as many of us. We ,as mods, are guiding him along and I think he's doing just fine now. Remember, we are here to teach/learn and help
