  1. Should be all set. I have a codec issue on my puter right now, could someone please test this link. Thanks
  2. I just had to share this with everyone, in case some of you have not had the opportunity to see such a thing. This is what the fall is like in Narragansett Bay, RI. Wind and rough seas had me hiding the camera once we left the dock but it was an uneventful morning anyway. But, just the same, check this out BAIT
  3. I've never used one but the ad says "Designed and built with the same care and precision that goes into every Extreme baitcaster",...(one of the biggest pieces of crap out there),...this would make me nervous. 5 bearings,... :-/ I would spend another $10 and get a Pflueger President
  4. If you look where it broke, that's no "slammed in door" break. Now, after spending $300(?), he has to spend another $50 and is w/o a rod for a week. For me,...that would be a problem. >
  5. I couldn't find it,...."other species" or "my outing"??
  6. All the D.E.M. (Dept. environmental management) trucks here in RI have big letters on the bed of the truck that say "REPORT ABUSE" and a big phone number next to it. I mean BIG, the length of the truck bed. (they make it easy to remember 222-3070) I've used it twice. The second time, a truck showed up within 15 minutes of us calling and they bagged a guy who was filling a 5 gal bucket with 10-12" stripers. The 1st time, I saw no responce but hadn't stuck around very long so don't know whether they showed up or not. It's your right to call but more so,...it's your duty. In this situation, I think you handled it properly. If you see this guy yet again, blatantly breaking the law, I would discreetly call your state hotline, I'm sure they have one, throw the # in your cell now so it's readily available in the future. You've done your part, and even educated them a bit. Now they know. Another "confrontation" could escalate seeing as how there is history there now. Avoid him from now on, call "the man" if you need to.
  7. Soap and water The paint on those is more like a primer than a paint. It WILL come off if you use strong chemicals. For my buddies, we just use soap/water and a power washer. It will be painted by next year 2000GMC- That thing looks awesome!! Great pic,...the turtle and the hare, lol.
  8. Absolutely. It's just like Tuna fishing, the guy throwing the dart (harpoon) is just as important as the guy holding the rod. A team is a team. That first pic is awesome, did they make that for you? Wondering how they set the focus....very cool effect.
  9. Well said Papa, and very true. Your support and insight on this thread are fantastic, thanks from all. FFI- How is this nerve malfunction treated? What did they do that allows her to be at home and off the tube?

It gets dragged into the brushpile with the rest of them......
  11. Personally, I'd rather just let them have their moment. Their skill level, or their opinion of their own skill level,.....has nothing to do with the fish I put in the boat.
  12. 3:33am 65 degrees soft showers I'll sleep this afternoon, but right now I got a lake that's callin' my name
  13. Burley, please continue updating, you are inspiring me.
  14. This is EXACTLY how it was explained to me by a marine biologist from The Univ of R.I.-Kingston. Fish eat many spiney, shelled creatures. The digestive system of a bass, including it's mouth are null and void of the nerve cells that register "pain". The nerve cells found in these areas can detect pressure, weight, taste and a slight sense of temperature. Otherwise, they would starve. Not really mean, but not very effective because they will soon repair the fin (unless infection sets in) When infection sets in, the body produces scar tissue and will stop the continuing growth of the fin, otherwise, it will be good as new in a week or 2. Below is a pic of a bass that lost a chunk of tail somewhere along it's long life. Scar tissue set in on the tail and now we know this fish by the tell tale (no pun) mark. Everyone,...meet Gwendalyn (Gwen for short) She's one of our lakes older matriarchs. Ain't she a beaut for up north?
  15. Puter drama, yuk! I'm lucky, stratosdadri lives nearby and is quicker than ANY on call service
  16. Hookem, don't bother, you can't explain it if the basic tools to comprehend are not there. We couldn't even get past the definition of "illegal" : You guys are entitled to your own opinions. The faults in your arguments are beyond obvious which leaves us to believe that this debate is merely to fulfill an attention need. Not gonna happen.....moving on...
  17. Yea, it was harsh but it looks JUST LIKE ME,lol. He's right though Scott, I was in never never land this morning, lol Glad to hear it George, heal up!!
  18. Where'd ya go? Haven't seen you on since your report back from the big game, All good?
  19. Just wondering how you made out with your recent "upgrades"? Hope all is well.
  20. Sorry Sam, Catt is fishing, he'll call when he gets back ;D
  21. Nerve? Not me,....I was just commenting that this type of approach to fishing is kind of like cheating, lol. (now, If you try to unload 30,000 of them in the flea market for a bulk price of $750,000.........we might have an issue ;D)
  22. This is a well known situation here in RI. Many guides know that when the striper bite is on top and hot, they often WILL NOT hit a topwater plug, baffling many anglers. It's twice as hard to figure because the stripers travel with the blues who make the same topwater commotion but will do the opposite and bite ANYTHING> The well known trick for triggering stripers that have a school of bait up top is to go just sub surface with a streamer fly. If no fly rod on board, a fluke is the next best thing. Still no bite? Weight the fluke. Still no bite? Put fluke or shad body on a bucktail jig and get it below the entire commotion. You will find the fish in one of these zones and that zone will give a steady bite as long as the keep the bait schooled. The double, or multiple fluke rig is also deadly. Yes, he may have caught a 3 lbr but the chance for a much larger fish was there, trust me.
  23. Glenn feels the same way. Last year he got fed up with it all and put $150k salary caps on the mods > ;D
