I'll guess...."too close".

Boyd Duckett Wins The Classic
Great Job!! Excellent placing for the Federation nation by Terry McWilliams too!! That must have been one heck of a final weigh in. Unfortunately, I will be sound asleep when ESPN decided it should be airred.

33 classic and 733
Evidently they work. They got you to the status of "legend" by age 15!! ;D Seriously though, the combos we give the kids at CAST events have 33's on them. This yr a 7 yr old boy in a wheelchair caught an 8,2 lbr on it. I'll try and find the pic. Now, I'm not saying I would risk an 8 lb fish on a push button reel but,......it can be done. The more you fish, the need for better gear will come. Use what you are comfortable with till you are ready to spend a little money on the next level.

How Do I Get The Mojo?
It's on the west coast now and will be coming to Fork with us. Hopefully it will be presented shortly after that. It was decided by the last person to have it. That person chose who it went to next.

Hot Foot or not?
The trigger application on mine is kind of a rare thing. The entire steering sytem is different than in a boat. It only goes 1/4 turn to each side (think of handlebars. Also, The "travel" on the cable may require a custom cable, not cheap. We took the time and money with this boat because it really is a classy, one of a kind. A true Boston whaler, 15' center console inboard. Yes, a 15 ft inboard, lol. Very clean. The trigger throttle was another part of the minmalistic appeal we were looking for. The hot foot is designed to be simply "switched out" without all the math.

Gerald Swindle's Day 2 catch disqualified
Point taken on the fact that there needs to be rules to keep cameras and spectators back. Granted. But this group of spectators was watching Howell, not swindle. If you approach the group on plane and keep it there,.....think about it.

Next year, for sure.

Gerald Swindle's Day 2 catch disqualified
Howell waved him on,...not the boats he threaded through. Is it a marked channel? No. They have every right to be where they were. As Trip said, he should have idled through that whole area. Did the time fit the crime? Barely. A fitting add on would be for him to attend a boating safety course. Humble his azz.

Gerald Swindle's Day 2 catch disqualified
Mornin' Catt! ;D ;D The coffee is kickin' in, not much more of this, lol By "his own water", I mean he doesn't have to fish in Howell's lap. I would bet money that if swindle was boating nice fish, all alone in an area he hunted out, for 2 days, and then Howell came and started fishing down current from him, same bank, football field or so apart,....swindle would erupt. Just no need for that at this event with these conditions. IMO

Gerald Swindle's Day 2 catch disqualified
If he went and found his own water,......wouldn't even be an issue. :-/ Don't get me wrong, I understand that sometimes, the fish are stacked in certain places, like that tourny in Fla one yr when EVERYONE was fishing the "monkey box" or whatever it was called, because it was the only clean water. This is different. Great bite, Great conditions, fish are everywhere,...just not neccessary.

Gerald Swindle's Day 2 catch disqualified
Local word is that the reason he was coming through there to begin with was because he had just spot jumped down river of Howell, fishing the water Howell has been in for 2 days and was working towards, with the current. Howell was pretty bent that Swindle spot jumped him, visibly enough so where Swindle picked up and left. Hmmmmm Even today, he's busy justifying it instead of owning it. This goes back to my original comment on this incident. How he handles this will speak volumes for his character. Not looking too good in my eyes, so far. If the fishing industry doesn't show him the love, there's always NASCAR!!

This years terrible coverage is proof of THAT!! SO let down.

Raingear
The 4 big things I look for in raingear are 1. GORE-TEX!!!!! 2. Fitted cuts and added wear protection in key areas (knees, butt) 3. Bibs, not pants for back draft protection (How zipper functions is big for "relieving" yourself. I like bibs that you don't need to remove shoulder straps to unzip)(Has seperate zipper "down there") 4. GORE-TEX!! With these factors in mind, I only use North Face. Past findings: Frogg toggs- way too bulky, not fitted at all (but very "stow-able" & affordable) Cabelas-Great value. Quality construction and materials (guide wear series) BPS extreme 100mph- way too stiff, no thought to cuts and fitability yet very durable. For the same price point here, it's Cabela's hands down) North Face- Has it all, somewhat pricey but you get what you pay for. *Avoid all plastic or rubber rain gear. On any day, you can end up just as wet from sweat not being able to escape. In cold weather, it can actually be dangerous ** Many brands offer a mid level garment. Things like Hyvent and dry plus work great for awhile but break down rather quickly once the outer "scotch guard" type application starts wearing off. Upkeep is neccessary with these. Bi annual "treatments" are reccommended. Added protection on all seams is a must when re-treating. Gore-tex is the only way to go for me. However, even GT needs minor "special care". For years it was believed that GT breaks down if you use a conventional dryer. Not true. The heat actually helps the molecules re-form and re-bond. Fabric softner will ruin the material however. For all the details, refer to the garments care tag but for a general GT care reference, use this link below. GORE-TEX CARE For other alternatives, look in some golf catalogues. They have sets that are made to pack in a bag and also include Gore-Tex. These are usually a light duty outer shell layer. Not made to be beat up but if you are a non-aggressive angler, there may be a match for you there.

Avid's new Bass boat!
Not much stowage,.....then again, maybe it was smuggling steroids and some leaked, lol I would think it would be a cavitation nightmare. Quite a bit of prop wash there, lol Looks like it should have "wheelie bars" and parachutes to stop ;D

Hackney-father in-law rescue
True, very true. I guess in different circumstances, rods really can be a tool. Even if just to fish somthing out of the water. And if anything more happens, you have a means to get food.

Gerald Swindle's Day 2 catch disqualified
If it was a questionable distance, maybe but....I'm with JNamo, someone does a fly by THAT close to my boat, I'm going to start the engine and go put my anchor through his motor cover. Do it at full speed and I might just aim the whole boat right at you. DQ- ABSOLUTELY Should be fined too as far as I'm concerned. He was saying "I gotta go, I gotta go",....ok Swindle, finally somthing we agree on. Catt- I only know what I've experienced. I understand I've never fished these big lakes consistently. I fish primarily smaller places. The Bay I live on, we have bluefish boils where we chase rising schools and even then, with 10-12 boats on a school, we don't operate THAT close or THAT fast. I fished Fork during the spawn last year when the locals said the place was a mad hose and I didn't experience ANYTHING like that. Also. Howell waved him on but Howell wasn't the one he buzzed. If it wasn't a marked channel or boat lane, the camera boat was not in the wrong to be there and was not impeding his path. The boat under power is required to navigate. Not fighting at all, just my .02
