  3. also, alot more people of my generation aren't getting married (and having kids) at all. I still have to agree with Fluke, the parameters he chose to quote sure do seem to be tailored to prove his point. Current numbers would be better. Also remember that often times how popular somthing is or isn't is based on "retail sales". Not neccessarily a true miror of what's gong on in the field, just a guage.

  5. Just busting everyone, please don't take offense, I could really give a hoot but will always root for my hometeam. Nothing annoys me more than a guy driving around Boston with a yankees sticker on his car (unless he is originally from NY). Like I said, who wins is irrelevant but loyalty says somthing.
  6. lol, everyone thought the chargers were a shoe in,..I love it!

  8. 3 different retrieves I use alot are the rip/stop (like peacock fishing), the continues steady, very "trackable" consistent retrieve and the last is a steady retrieve with erratic pulls and snaps, make the props make as many different sounds as possible, all mixed up. My favorite is the steady retrieve, like a buzzbait. This is the one you can get that sizzle like rolo was talking about. It's like a finesse version but the blades have be tuned dead on and even the landing from the cast can tweak them enough to mess up that "trickle sounding sizzle" . It sure is a deadly one though. lol, long ride into the sun w/ no shades, see the wake? We were going from one end to the other, about 25 mins. 8-)
  9. wow, I didn't realize New Yorkers were allowed to turn down a bribe,...lol I brought alot of stuff last year, won't be doing that this time. A bass is a bass, I went and spent all kinds of money buying everything in red, blah, blah, blah. I'll be using the usual stuff and then when the intel starts coming back, there are tackle shops everywhere. If RW and myself can't get them on plastic, I'll be looking to the ranks for a go to. That's right monkey. Sit. Heel. Chill.
  10. for vertical jigging, like ice fishing
  11. An even better alternative IMO, is the Heddon Dying Flutter. Same bait, better construction. or for CREATING cover for humans, lol
  12. I think I use spinning gear much more than most folks here. I, personally, have NO ISSUES with using braid on spinning gear but I really don't think that will help your dad. A med power rod just isn't going to get it done. Wrong rod for what he's trying to do, adding braid won't fix the issue, however it will complete the answer when added to a MH, H, or XH rod.
  13. Nice gesture chode, I hope that Karma boomerangs on you and your livewell stays full this season I moved this here from flea market for more views and seeing as how it's not for "sale". It has a time limit so I thought more exposure would be better.
  14. lol, a "runner" at UPS is an "over-achiever",....not a compliment from one teamster to another. A guy that works through his lunch break is a "runner". No, I don't run. I do however, "walk at a brisk pace which commands attention. Scanning my walkway and lining my passangers side door with my delivery point. " But I don't run. lol

  16. I've used the AN40 on my saltwater spin gear for years. Got some stretch to it but holds up great.
  17. I bet those slimey critters really missed you! If you woke up sore, I suggest 1.5 hr sessions instead of 3.5 Build it back up even slower. I know you've been right on the ball as for not overdoing it but now the bug is back and we are just spurting our warnings to help keep that bug in check, lol. CYA soon!
  18. Glad all is well, time to settle in. See any decent looking water nearby?
  19. Would make a good idea for a club. A special tourny. not so much eliminating the elctronics but limited gear. I mean REAL limited. 3 rods with the lures that are on them. You can have extras but must be same lure and same color. Would make for some fun to see who guessed right AND got lucky AND knows how to fish.
  20. That's the heart and soul of it right there!
  21. bittersweet,...there's that word again. Great to have you guys on board but a big drag that KU can't make it.
  22. Vw Jetta 15' Boston Whaler jet 12' jon
  23. Buzz, that's awesome!! Can I suggest you cancel your room and grab KU's so you can be staying with the whole group? Seeing how you just booked, I'm sure there won't be any problem pulling out of the original place. Names are going on the list and 5bass, yours isn't coming down till we have exhausted ALL options.
