2nd annual BR.com roadtrip!!!
Kev, miscommunications happen, certainly nothing personal, we ALL lost out on the food part. Your daily check ins and being the only one in that 1/2 of Texas catching fish were highlights for me, not even to mention your encounter with the well groomed hummer dude, lol. Hope there are no hard feelings that have been hanging around, I value your contributions bigtime.

**VIDEO # 20** Oh man, what can I say
FC- Are you talking about Butch Brown? I have links to his vids if needed. Hawg_Hunter was the first to do it, that I had seen and shortly after, I saw Butch Brown's videos . I use a Fujifilm s5600. It's a straight up 6mp digi cam with a video setting. I have a 1 gig card and on the highest resolution, it gives me almost 15 minutes of filming. That's alot. Before this, (before sept, when I bought the big card) all those vids were made of compilations that came off a 1min 51 sec card!! lol. Now the vids are getting better because 15 mins gives us basically unlimited time when you film in the style we do. Which brings me to your point. Eric is my fishing partner and I am his. One is not the "cameraman" while the other fishes. We just fish and the moment you have a bite you let the other guy know. We are gettting pretty good at reaction times now that we have a full season of it under our belt. The camera just sits in the bag with the top open , in between both of us. Depending on the bait, there are different "lead times". ex. a senko, when the line shoots out, you can let the other guy know. He gets the camera and presses play as you are reeling down on 'em and then you get the hookset on film. For Hud's you'll miss the hookset but get all of the fight, all of the landing, all of the hootin and hollerin', the weigh in and the release. This can be done alone!! You'll notice in many of my videos , I am alone. I simply sit the camera on the rear seat and point it forward. After I get a good hookset, reach over and press play and you're in the game. There are better set-ups to mount the camera also. Hawg_Hunter (Darrin) took B. Browns idea 1 step further. He bought a hard drive movie camera and built a mount (works in a machine shop) to accept the piece you screw into bottom of camera for tripod and then the other end fits his pedestal pole. So the pedestal pole is his tripod. Very secure and he can actually film every minute of every trip w/digital hard drive memory. Now if you're boat isn't set up where you can forfeit the rear seat, you fabricate a mount somewhere else,....like in the stern corner,..makes it more of a wide angle. Back to the camera Another guy, the director for BASS Youth in RI is an electronics/computer/gadget junkie and has shopped out the cameras hard. He has bought 3 and never been satisfied with the quality from any of them. 3 different brands too. He still has 2 that work fine but bother him because of quality and when he 1st saw my videos, he instantly asked what I was using. When he heard it was a reg camera, he flipped out. Bought one immediately, the next one up from mine. Absolutely loves it. Just for the record, I was so happy with this camera, I bought another one when my first one died (wouldn't power up). Now I have 2. If you look up the specs, I believe this line is actually slightly better than anything in it's price category, strictly by specs, not "usability" etc (although this camera has extremely user friendly menus and functions). Plain as day, right there in writing that it "should' have better quality than the others. First time I've ever seen this actually be the case. I usually see that as spec manipulation. make yours slightly better, even if it's really not and nobody can "tell" the difference but will buy that item over the next one based on the numbers. BTW- I believe this camera still retails for UNDER $300. Like $259 I think. Amazing.

That is some very personally rewarding stuff. Nothing better for the soul than helping people that truly deserve and appreciate acts like these. This show is the epitomy of "random acts of kindness" My favorite show ever made. THAT'S what TV's should be used for. Have fun and be safe on the site. Kudos to all involved.

river fishing
I don't fish rivers for bass much, in RI, most all of our river fishing is for trout and we use fly rods for those,however,....many of the same priciples apply, a few of the main obvious ones are: A fish will duck behind any object that breaks the current. Sitting behind a rock in a river allows a fish to expend very little energy while resting in an ambush state. Food is delivered to these fish via current. They simply slide out from behind the rock, suck up passing food and slide back in behind the rock. The placement of your offering needs to be precise and forcasted as to how it will be manipulated and delivered. these are just a few obvious ones. RW is away this weekend but is a premier river angler and will surely give you the whole picture when he returns. Another thing to keep in the front of your mind when river fishing is boat handling and more importantly, boating safety. PFD's are a must, 100% of the time. A swift current can make harmless looking water, deadly. Current can also sneak up on you and your vessel and put you in a situation you can't get out of. Always stay EXCEPTIONALLY clear of all hydrofoils, they are UNESCAPABLE.

Unusual question for sponsors...
Vorlin, are you limiting this to "pro's" only? I think the format of the show is a great idea for the avg guy which most of us are. On that thought, the avg guy's learning experience doesn't usually come from a touring pro. Great idea but just and elaborative suggestion. GUIDES. I think including guides on your show would really bring it home as many of us "Avg Joes" who have a major learning experience, have gotten that experience from a guided trip. Guides do what you are looking for every day. Pro's don't. Guides teach, it's what they do. Don't get me wrong, I really like the pro idea but I am only suggesting......to include guides. Great idea.

HOW TO FIND BASS FISHING SPONSERS
Marcia Ruben, a touring pro, explains alot of it quite well in this post. https://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1143220947 often , if you are as marketable as you feel you may be, they find you

Members challenge
OK guys, with winter on the doorstep I need some suggestions from everyone. Should we do a Nov challenge? Lots of us will be shut down long before Nov ends and I'm wondering if we should put member challenges on "hold" till the spring. The whole program was extremely successful. Once we ironed out the kinks (many thanks to you guys for that, your input means everything) Lots of guys caught fish and a few nice ones I might add, on baits they either had no confidence or success with. GREAT JOB TO EVERYONE!!!! I am definately not cancelling it, just putting it off till spring but if you folks want to keep it going through the winter, I have no problem accomodating our southern folk, but want to make sure there will be enough participation. Thoughts?

2nd annual BR.com roadtrip!!!
Update. Brent Bollinger from *** will be coming as well. He will be staying with Dirk and I and will be bringing his Triton so there will be an extra seat available on Mine and dirks boat on certain days. WOOHOOO Brent is just another of the main people I have been wanting to meet from the board. This is great. I buy alot of plastic from Brent and he had made a suggestion to me that he bring me this yrs plastics to Fork, will save me about $60-$70 later in shipping. Just a thought, if anyone also buys in bulk from him, he would be happy to do the same for you I'm sure. Man, as it gets colder and colder here in New England, I just remind myself that the colder it gets, the closer we are to Fork. In New England, we concentrate hard on keeping that glass 1/2 full during the winter, lol. CAN'T WAIT!!!

Other species you'd like to fish for ???
I have been very lucky. In my youth, I was able to travel to 27 different countries and just about everywhere in the states. Spent 3 months fishing Hawaii and was born and raised in Bermuda. This has allowed me to establish one heck of a species list. BUT.... I WANT A PEACOCK!!!!! This is the one specie I have yet to get that is starting to bother me. I know I could get one in Fla. but I feel it wouldn't be the same. I want one from native waters. Maybe this is just a ploy to visit the Amazon? Maybe. But before I die..........

Accents
OK, I take alot of heat for my accent. No biggee, I'm very proud of where I come from. Yes,...we do not use the letter "R" in many words. ex. "I'm gonna Pok the Cah" Well guess what? I'm not so odd. I just noticed that the southern population have also omitted a letter from the alphabet. The letter "T". ex. "In the winner when it's get's cold..." Funny how drastically different these 2 accents are, they mind as well be from 2 different countries!

Sidenote- This song was chosen as a tribute to a good friend of mine. The singer is my ex g/f from college, trying to make it in the music biz. Still unsigned, this song is an indie. Song is called "Arrow" by Non-Fiction for the couple folks who asked via PM.

cast for kids/ cfc campaign
At UPS, we only deal with the United Way. They have the same thing where you can choose an agency from the book to donate too. I wonder if CAST would qualify to get in it. I'm going to look into that one when I meet jim O. today. He flew in last night from Wasington to meet me and talk about some CAST issues. If I can get CAST in the United Way book, I will be able to tie UPS in to our program in a big way. UPS, like the gov't, also donates on the clock employees to assist United way during the campaign. We also stay active with UW agencies in the community year-round. I am especially active with this aspect of UPS, now you really got me thinkin',lol.....
