  1. The spawn is great, but this time of year seems to be when the bass here in Orlando really turn on. Anyone else notice this? I have been catching straight up lunkers the last week or so. They seem fat like spawning females, yet it's late in the year. I guess they are feeding hard now for the winter?
  2. First cool day of the year this morning. On the way to work I kept thinking about it. Got home this evening, threw the gear and family into the car to go eat dinner at the parents (who live on a great bass lake). Went out back and on the second cast caught a sweet 5lb'er. Used a muskrat (sweet beaver) t-rigged right off the grass line.
  3. I live on a golf course and there are a few ponds i walk to in the evenings to fish. All have bass. Whenever I pick up a new lure I like to test it in these ponds. It is amazing the size of the bass sometimes.
  4. When dragging a worm or lizard across the top of the pads. Sometimes you can see the pads start to move a few feet from the bait and BAM!
  5. Finesse worms with a very small split-shot about 6 inches up the line.
  6. Night fishing under a full moon or around docks with lights is awesome. The biggest bass I ever hooked up with was in the grass edge of a lake where the large lights on the dock were shining over, it was probably 2 - 3am. Plus, the fish always seem bigger than they are it seems. Maybe because it's harder to see. But it is fun.
  7. 20lb PP green braid. I know some people like the stretch of mono for cranks but you can just adjust your hookset or get a longer rod with more play in the tip. If your fishing with a 1oz crank chances are your gonna hook the bigger fish.
  8. Jigs with pork rind trailers.
  9. When I used lighter tackle I would catch speck and large bluegill. Now when I target bass thats usually all i catch. Last summer my buddy caught this gator while fishing in a springhead.
  10. I consider myself lucky. I live within walking distance to 3 great ponds, 2 miles from 2 lakes, one which feeds the st.johns and 1 hour from mosquito lagoon. I average about 2 trips during the week and fish every weekend with bi-weekly trips to the coast. Fishing paradise.
  11. I know they have to feed. Any tips on catching them late summer?
  12. Have both, I like the Mojo. Seems better balanced. Not necessarily lighter just a more natural feel when casting, and more sensitive.
  13. When we headed back in the glow from the prop thrust was amazing. It left at leat a 20 ft long trail behind the boat. Next time I am gonna take pictures.
  14. 7.5 curly tail culprit. rapala original minnow, 4" black and blue skirted jig chartreuse spinner with willows super spook jr
  15. Florida! Central, St. John's or surrounding areas. ;D
  16. I have used that app for a few months now. It is awesome. I was finally able to night fish on the Indian river and get back to the ramp by the channel markers on the phone without grounding.
  17. What are your thoughts on using snap swivels? I like them when using topwaters and cranks but always wondered about how it affects the lure action. It's just so much easier to switch baits when using them.
  18. Curado 200b with Mojo Bass MH/M action. 20lb PP line. Good for all your needs. ;D
  19. 7" curly tail, grape.
  20. I use a Stradic 2500FI on an Avid AVS66MLF.
  21. Amen to that! I fish with all 6' rods (mainly cause I mostly shore fish) and they work great for me. When I buy a boat (after xmas if AT&T buys my employer) then I will buy 7' rods. hehe Sorry steez, felt like I plagerized u. Didn't see ur post. Funny it's the same.
  22. I was a 6'6" user for years. I recently got a few 7's and love them. It seems like I get a few extra yards. Mostly use them from the boat though. For the shore in pads and stuff I still use the 6'6"ers.
  23. I love the tricks in watermelon pepper. I use a small 1/16 bullet.
  24. I try everything plastic (100's of bags.) Creatures, worms, etc... But for 30 years, every year, I always use and catch bass on 7" grape curly tail worms, mostly Culprit. If I had to pick a bait that I had to use for the rest of time that would be it, FL-rigged with a 1/8 oz bullet.
  25. Zoom gourd (pumpkin) green. 6"
