Albc Best Six Tournament Results...a Check And Boat!!!!
I should have, but I dont think it was my good luck that won us the boat...Im pretty sure it was the good luck of another team member. I have NEVER won anything like that before. Last year I fished a tournament that had 67 people in it and they gave away 65 door prizes. Wanna guess one of the two people who didnt win a door prize...ding ding ding...ME!!

Zoom Paddletail
I think you are thinking of the Paddle Tail worms. The OP is talking about the new Swimming Flukes. For the Swimming Flukes I like the colros wtml/red, smokin shad, and Arkansas Shiner. I normally like to reel at a steady pace adding in occasional jerks and letting the bait fall on slack line around cover. Most strikes occur when I let the bait fall around a top or some grass or whenever I begin to reel again. Make sure you use a Wide Gap hook, but you dont want it to be too long because it will hinder the action of the Paddle tail.

Albc Best Six Tournament Results...a Check And Boat!!!!
I wish I could keep the boat, but I would have to pay off the other 5 guys. It would be a good deal, but I just cant justify spending 18K on a boat just out of college...

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
Yeah my boat dropped two fish over 5lbs that would have boost us all the way to 4th place. At 12:00 on Sunday the fishing sucked so I picked up my buddy's rod with a white Cavitron Buzzbait on it and hung a 5+ on the third cast. His drag was set so loose though I never got a hook into the fish, I could just see her swimming with it in her mouth, but everytime I jerked line would strip off the reel. The other fish broke at the boat!! It was frustrating too because Thursday and Friday with the high pressure and blue bird skies we killed the fish on some humps in Six Mile, but with the good weather Sat. and Sunday we only caught one off those humps. I guess thats why they call it fishing and not catching.

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
My club, Southern Boyz Bass Club, finished 16th out of 84 clubs this past weekend in the ALBC Best Six tournament. We weighed in 64lbs of fish in 2 days with a 8.02lb and 6lb kickers! That was good enought for a check. And the best part is...WE WON A BOAT!!! It is a Nitro Z7 with a 150 Opti on the back. We are selling it and splitting the money between the 6 of us. All our fish were caught in Housen, Six Mile, and the Meghee Flats on jigs, chatterfrogs, RI Skinny Dippers, Chug Bugs, Buzzbaits, and Cranks. We had a blast and cant wait to fish the Bend agian!!

Albc Best Six Tournament Results...a Check And Boat!!!!
Well, my club participated in the annual ALBC (Association of Louisiana Bass Clubs) Best Six tournament. The top six fisherman in your club gets to fish in this tournament as a team and weigh in 12 fish a day for two days. It was a blast to get to fish with some guys that I normally am fishing against. I finished 4th in our final club standings last year out of 50 members, so I was able to be a part of the team. Anyway, we went thursday to do a little prefishing on Toledo Bend. Found a lot of good fish on the south end of the lake and left em. Friday, we found some more good fish on another hump and left them. Well, tournament day rolls around Saturday and our fish left us but we managed to catch 17 weigh fish that day as a team. We culled 5 of em and ended up with 33lbs with a 8.02lb kicker. The second day we caught 31lbs with a 6lb kicker. That fish was caught while we were loading up the boats. One of the trucks was backed in and a guy in another boat cast at the ramp and caught her on a white buzzbait to finish off the day! It was crazy to say the least. We ended up in 16th place out of 84 clubs, good enough for a check. Then they raffle a Nitro Z7 with a 150 Opti on the back to one club and they drew our name!!! We went crazy.. We now have the boat up for sale and will split the money between the 6 of us. Overall, we had a blast, cashed a check, and WON A BOAT!!! Not a bad weekend...

Favorite Hollow Bodied Soft Swim Bait
I like the Strike King Shadalicous. The Yum Money Minnow is ok too, but my favorite soft plastic swim bait is the LFT Live Magic Shad. Also, RI Skinny Dippers are good too!

Yea there is a huge stump in the middle of the farthest south east west boat lane. Saw it last Thurday and I dont think it was a floater!

Electric Filet Knives
Mister Twister is by far the best IMO. Ive had Rapala and Berkley only to be disappointed. The blades dulled quickly and the knife gave out after less than a season of use. Mister Twisters normally last between 2-3 seasons for me. It is nothing for me to clean 200 fish a day with mine. I catch a ton of bar fish on the river and white perch on the lake and clean them no problem with the Mister Twister. I also have some buddies that guide for speckled trout and they clean 100-200 fish a day every day and they all use Mister Twister fillet knife. They just seem to hold up the best over time and are much cheaper than the others mentioned.

Favorite Beaver
Not exactly a beaver, but the LFT Hyper Freak is pretty cool and catches fish...

Looking About Bass Boats.. Or Dreaming
Get a part time job during school and work full time during the summers. Save money and you will have enough to buy a good boat in no time. I would recommend buying a newer, smaller boat instead of an older, bigger boat though because your going to end up putting a ton of money into a old boat believe me, I know. I bought my first boat when I was 16. It was a 15ft Alumaweld with a 40 Tohatsu motor and a 36lb Motorguide TM. It was great.

Best Big Fish Outing Ever

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
Topwater early, then try a trap or spinnerbait in 6ft with grass. Once that bite slows, go back through it with a wacky worm. Then back off in 12ft. with cranks and carolina rigs. Downsize your baits too. Use a centipede or 4" senko for your c-rig and you will get bit alot more and catch a few good ones.

What Knots Do You Use?
Trilene for trebles and Polamer for single hook baits
-
Fliping Frogs
Try it...it works.

Favorite Beaver
Not inappropriate at all...I plan on trying the UV lures beaver, I just havent found a beaver that I like yet.
