Do you own a boat?
I have a 14' Old Town canoe, but I really want to get a bass boat.
-
boaters wanted?
Not exactly sure what you mean by that, but no we do not. Last year we cancelled our last tournament due to a lack of boaters. This year we are trying something different, if we have more non-boaters than boaters we are going to go with 3 people per boat, and go down to a 3 fish limit instead of 5 so the livewells don't get overloaded. The non-boaters will have to make sure to have floats that they know are theirs so there is no mistaking fish in the well. I am hoping we don't need to do this.

boaters wanted?
We have a small club, and we have a hard time getting enough boaters to show up for non-boaters.

April LM Bass on Lake Champlain
The only time you would need a license from both states is if you wanted to fish in the tributaries of the other state. If you went to the extreme southern part of the lake (South Bay) you would need a NY license. If you were on the Northern part of the lake on the VT side called the inland sea, you must have a VT license. Otherwise you can have a license from either state. As far as spots, I have to admit, I have not done a lot of early spring fishing. So I don't know as though I could be much help there.

April LM Bass on Lake Champlain
I only really no the southern part of the lake. There are several good spots if you launch out of Ticonderoga, NY or Larabee's point in Shoreham, VT. The ice is just about gone, so you should not have any problems as far as that is concerned. In fact the warm weather this weekend probably got rid of the rest of the ice. I am sure someone on here could tell you about the northern part of the lake.

Lake Champlain question
I live near the southern part of the lake. I usually launch my canoe in Shoreham, just across for the Ticonderoga launch.

Lake Champlain question
Being a local, I don't think Champlain is a secret. The lake gets serious pressure on the weekends for certain. I love having it in my back yard so to speak (I actually live about 8 miles from the lake). Wish I had a better boat to fish it with. I use a canoe so that kind of limits what kind of days I can go out on it and how far I can go, but I get out with friends as often as I can. I used to fish with my uncle until he passed away last March, and he would always say "If heaven is not like Champlain, then I don't want to go."

Going to Lake Bomomseen...Any tips?
Where are you staying? Are you bringing a boat, or are you fishing from shore? I don't fish Bomo very much, but there are some guys in my club that fish there quite often. I will ask them for some info and pass it along.

Hard times hitting B.A.S.S Elite series tournaments.....
How many amatuers fishing BFL's can fish in the Bassmaster Classic? 0 There are still co-anglers in BASS opens, and they added more of those this year. If you think you have what it takes, you can fish in the opens as a pro and qualify for the elite series.

MY bass Marshals Having fun yet
My wife tried to sign me up for the tournament that was going to be on Champlain, before they decided to cancel it, and all the spots were already full. No, I don't think they are going to have a hard time filling the spots.

Lake Champlain question
A VT license will give you access to almost the whole lake. You just can't go up NY tribs, although you can fish the mouth of the tribs. South Bay in NY is so far south of where you will be, I would not worry about that.

Icey cool poll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The ice is starting to break up on Champlain. I did not think would ever come. It should be all gone in plenty of time for our opener on April 11th.

Hard times hitting B.A.S.S Elite series tournaments.....
It is my understanding that they kept the same entry fee per tournament not the total amount. It is $40,000 for the 8 tournaments not 55,000. So they are not pocketing the $15,000. They are trying to save costs for themselves and the anglers by having a little less travel.

Measure and Release clubs
Our club is having two paper tournaments this season during the catch and release only season that we have here. Our regular season tournaments are more traditional.

Club draw tournaments
Our club does just draw tournaments. We don't have a rule about fishing with the same member more than once though.

Going against the grain- Elite Sportsmanship!
I am not an Ike fan. I thought he was being a "good boy" during the weigh in though. The problem I have with his screaming is that he seems to do it over just about every fish he catches. He is obviously a great fisherman, but I just want to say shut up and fish. It just seems like an act to me.

Icey cool poll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope it is only another month. They are still driving trucks out on Lake Champlain to go ice fishing. It drives me nuts

some Classic "pros" are busch league.
I don't mind seeing them swing the fish into the boat, but I really don't like it when they lay their fish on the carpet to choose what one they are going to cull. Maybe sometime they should time how long it takes them to do that, and then go in stick their head in the water for that same length of time ;D
