Topwater Rod?
I would look at Powell's line of crankbait rods. Right now at TW, you can get their Endurance Glass 7' H MF for $119 with the Labor Day sale. Their cranking rods are superb for top waters. I have two rods for tops waters: Max 7' H MF graphite cranking rod, paired withs reel with a 6.4 or 7.1:1 ratio and 30 lb Powerpro. I use that for any hard floating top water under 3/4oz. Then I have their 7'2" MH xf Diesel rod with the same reel and line. This is for small frogs and (mainly) super spooks. Please note: I thin you need to pair the rod with the HOOKS. If you have thin trebles, standard number 6 or 4, then you need a soft rod. However, if you upgrade to 2x trebles, like my spook, those thicker hooks demand a stiffer rod to aid in penetration and holding power, not to mention the monster bass that will take a giant top water. The same philosophy applies to jerkbaits

Tidal Bass, How Would You Fish This Cove?
Hey, I live up by Quakertown! If you want some help fishing that spot, let me know!!!!! I've heard flat sides square bills are a hit in the Delaware. Shakey heads too. It's a notoriously tough fishery.

Powell Endurance 755
Good deal! You won't be sorry. My favorite characteristic about this rod is that it doesn't "give" to the crankbait on the retriee too much. But when a fish hits it, it really plays that fish well. Here's a tip: I upgraded all my trebles to Gammy Short shank 2x hooks. They are a little thicker and stay pinned better with this particular rod.

- Which Two Revo's For These Two Techniques
In all honesty, a 6.4:1 is a great all-around ratio. I like it for moving baits, like swim jigs or spinnerbaits. It will take up line on a jig bite quick enough also. However, the question is which is BETTER. I think in your case, the 7.1:1 is a better choice. My rule of thumb is this: if I'm fishing a technique that requires me to take up slack line on a constant basis (jigs, plastics, top waters, frogs, just about any bottom technique) I opt for the fastest retrieve I can muster (7.0+). However, when talking about moving bait (cranks, spinnerbaits, buzz baits, etc) I like the slower 6.4:1. It's worth mentioning that I only have one 5.4:1 sitting on a glass rod that I use for shallow and deep cranks. Nothing else. But I've caught more fish on a 6.4:1 than a 5.4:1. Good luck!- Northeast River In Maryland
I fish there sometimes. It'll humble you. I've had great days, and the last several outings, I've had crappy days. Water is tidal, and I like fishing shallow wood 1-3' (docks, laydowns) during incoming and high tide. Low tide, I like to flip grass in the 3-6 foot range. Water is stained everywhere their isn't grass. I flip Texas rigged plastics on heavier weights 3/8-3/4oz) on grass, 3/16-1/4 to wood. Spinnerbaits and frogs work well in the grass, but focus on areas with Hydrilla, NOT eelgrass ( that stuff is everywhere). Good luck! Fish the moment! Keep things simple!- Powell Endurance 755

I once took a butter knife and my teeth to a St. Croix Triumph. True story...- Favorite Shakey Head
What is everyone's favorite Shakey head? I am looking for one in the 1/16-1/8oz range with a bigger, light to regular wire hook, preferably a gammy or owner (not a member of the Mustad fan club). What are your opinions? I kinda like the Kriet series. The hooks look soooooo light.- Pro Staff Question
If anyone reading this is a pro staff member for a rod/reel, bait or line manufacturer, I have a question: Do you only use that companies equipment, or do you have other brands in you arsenal? For example, if you are a pro staffer for "Brand A" rods, do you ever use or more importantly purchase another brand's rods ever? Is that frowned upon? Follow-up question: What if the competitor rod you buy is your sponsor's biggest competitor, and you buy it to use and analyze the differences to help you compare to two? Is it less frowned upon then? Thanks all! Can't wait to hear the responses!- When Flipping What Hook To Use?
LOVE Gammy Heavy Cover Worm hooks (5/0), but the keeper on the Trokar is more reliable. I'll never buy Mustads.- Big Bass In Se Pennsylvania?
I live in Telford and fish with clackerbuzz on e and a while WHENEVER HE CALLS ME!!!!!! Haha, anyway, Green Lane Reservoir, though expensive to rent a boat, produces some big bass, and often. I always get a few fours when I go there. I have a buddy who caught an 8.5 during POST spawn. They're in there...- Favorite Jig Color
It depends what color the crawfish are. I fish a lake where the craws are watermelon, blue and white. Jogs in that color produce. Another place I fish, they are watermelon, brownish-purple, and orange. Jigs in that color produce the most quality fish. Generically, if I'm fishing dirty water, tried and true black and blue. Clearer water, green pumpkin/blue. Sometimes I'll throw a little black in the mix. Oh, and I only use solid color skirts. No "striped" tabs. Just personal preference.- Off The Wall Baits?
My buddy tosses a 1/2 oz Flipping jig tipped with a 10" Powerworm. I've seen him land some friggin' hogs with it. I've also seen him lose a jig or two to pike (Southeastern Pa). I've seen other guys tip buzz baits and spinnerbaits with Senkos, but that's a little less weird and more "Wow, you really think that thing is magical"... Personally, I'm pretty old fashioned. To me, tossing a 10" worm is a little ridiculous, but they work. I also have a tough time tossing a swim bait much bigger than 5" (it's a confidence thing). Try a swim jig tipped with a split ring swivel and a size 0 or 1 Indiana blade. No other trailer. It can be great on pressured or suspended fish!- Smallmouthes With Frogs?
I once caught a 3# smallie on a Bronzeye 65 Tropical White. Skipped it under an overhang and he was there. Wasn't a reaction strike either, as I walked it about four times before he hit it. Smallie WILL demolish a frog, but like Smalljaw said, you will doubtfully fish it where smallie live.- Trebles: Ewg Vs Round Bend
Do EWG trebles come though cover better than round bend trebles?- Carolina Custom Crankbaits
Has no one ever used them????? I find that hard to believe, especially here!!!!- Rods In The 160 Range

Does anyone use them, particularly the share bill? They look good, but I want some reviews. I cant seem to find any. Thanks!- Square Bills
How do you anchor the screws where the split rings and trebles go? Is there a process? Do you screw, then epoxy the hole? - Which Two Revo's For These Two Techniques
