  1. Sent you a PM. Thanks for the kind words guys, lots of knowledgeable people on the board, I just try to help out when/where I can.
  2. I like "did god throw him back down" lol thats classic..
  3. I like a flipping switch, but not really for flipping. I use it when fighting fish, pitchin/flippin, etc... but its really never necessary whenever I'm making a reel purchase. I still use one of my old quantum's that has a flippin switch, and I find it "neat" to have but not neccessary.
  4. Top notch work eddie, as always. I also enjoy the checks, but I never use them on my personal builds. They do look awesome though. I've finished several builds this week, maybe I'll toss up a pic or two as well.
  5. My vote would go to Bo Jackson, that man was a beast.
  6. I don't know them personally, if you follow the links, you can read about it. Sounds like they two guys were driving a Ranger, which is likely irrelevant, but the motor (Evinrude HO) broke off of the jack plate while WOT, hitting both the driver and passenger console. Serious injuries were involved.
  7. Wow I've never heard of a motor coming loose and landing inside the cockpit, lots of speculation on how it happened as well. Boat was a ranger, Motor an Evinrude Etec HO... http://www.susquehanna5.com/fullstory.php?97463
  8. It's likely coincidence, but I know a gentlemen from Corbin, KY. I fish Lake Michigan with him once and a while, the shine he brings up is second to none. Absolutely the best stuff I've ever had...so sweet it hurts, lol.
  9. I see that now that you point it out, I'll post pics of a pack I have. I bought about $50 bucks worth and not one of them came with a plastic insert. I dislike the ones that come with the inserts.
  10. The ones from the site I posted don't have sleeves, they are very similiar to the over priced weights you can buy from tru tungsten, smoothed inside edges and all.
  11. Pretty hard to find the Curado e for 100. If the prodigy's sell for 100 then if your getting a new Curado that's usually around 180 then pretty much your getting that 100 dollar rod for 20. Sounds pretty good to me, but I've never used any Cabelas brand rods. I've bought my last 4 Curado's new for $135 shipped, look harder.
  12. spring for the 8. I assume you'll eventually buy the structure scan module and when you do you'll appreciate all the screen space you can get. I'm gonna buy the HDS 10 right now, and purchase a 5 or 7 for my bow sometime next year. Most people who have bought the Insight maps do like detailed maps. The HD 7's were leaking real bad, but the problem has supposedly been fixed. Even if you get a bad one, Lowrance was quick to replace the faulty units.
  13. Very cheap and very good stuff http://bassteamtackle.com/tungstenweights.aspx
  14. If your partake in the grain, I'm locking my cabin door.....
  15. Lol mafia wars is broke, so Blaine is forced back to BR. Lol, Whats up JimZee
  16. Wow, this is a pretty significant loss. Having a rep from any manufacturer was a plus. I would have kept the forum around simply for the traffic that was generated. Thanks for all your time.
  17. I have a lady who works for me, her husband makes his own batch each year around this time. She brings me in a bottle for christmas, man its potent stuff...
  18. I think we would prefer to have a "poll" if at all possible. Please don't give us the "pole". ;D
  19. Paragraphs/indents are your friend Your edits have transformed the original post into a pretty insightful article about crank baits, congrats! Your missing the point Catt. Regardless of how you fish your Texas Rig, your gonna look like a tool if and when you jump on a public forum and call out how KVD chooses to fish his Texas Rig. That doesn't mean he's right and your wrong, as with every other element in our sport, there are no absolutes. For many readers such as myself, it's hard to take a post serious when the author attacks an established pro, with no basis for comparison.
  20. "Who has experience that is actually recorded means absolutely nothing to me." Can't say I would agree with that. In the event one's experience becomes record, it becomes fact, which removes speculation. Just because Elias, KVD, IKE, or Clunn may have an opinion doesn't mean its an absolute. Given their experience has been factually placed on record, this does add an element of validation that certainly isn't questionable when they do offer to comment. I see Carts point, very clearly. When someone with no credentials wants to step in and clearly attempt to discredit the opinion of a highly decorated professional, it easily comes off as cheap comedy. In my initial read and in my opinon, there was no contrast of opinion, it was a pretty harsh point out of... Hey, Paul Elias is wrong.
  21. This is about all you'll get Glenn, second hand info from forum posts across the web. I'm slowly learning from simply buying and building. I've grown to love the 8+, but I've thrown the RX7 and standard 8 out of my build line entirely as I feel there are better blanks out there, available for the same amount of money. I currently have an NFC blank and several of the new Mudhole MHX blanks in hand, so I'll be finishing those builds hopefully this month. The NFC seems promising, but the MHX is a great buy when you consider the value.
  22. Hush, I'm well aware you have no feelings...
  23. Nah, if you hang around red headed people long enough, you get to see them throw their reels in the lake, break their carrot sticks over their knees, basically throw temper tantrums on the back deck of your boat, lol
