  1. Interesting week 1. A few surprises. The Browns, Bills, and Vikings all look good (except for too many mistakes). Dolphins seem to be building off their momentum from last year. How about them Bengals? And what happened to Green Bay? Also, the NFC West served notice it's once again the toughest division in the NFL.
  2. Of the two choices, #2 is more of an all-purpose rod. The first rod is more suitable for baits with treble hooks, due to the moderate action.
  3. Yes, bass do move shallower in the fall even if there isn't any shad. In your lake, I'd concentrate in the rocky areas with crankbaits, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, topwaters, and jigs.
  4. My clock radio alarm woke me up, with the announcer saying, "You're probably going to hear more about this later today, but we're just hearing that a plane struck a building in NY. Might be a Cessna or small plane, we're not sure. But you'll hear more about it today I'm sure." Slight understatement, ya think?
  5. The rule of thumb is this: If you're trying to promote something, it won't fly here. In other words, if you're trying to find a chip in the armor to find a way around the rules....you won't.
  6. Been there, done that...several times.... have the T-shirt LOL! Wife and I were fishing Guntersville once. He was actually fishing with somebody else. We met up at a a little shoreside tackleshop slash snack shack to grab a bite to eat. And while we're on the dock gabbing, he's casually tossing a Senko around the docks, and catches this: I mean really? .... REALLY? LOL, I give him a hard time, but man, what a skilled angler! Umm..do I at least get credit for netting it? ?
  7. I used to run a "guess the weight" contest of my own pics - first one without the scale, 2nd one with.... You'd be amazed how far off the guesses were. I mean, WAY off. Like not even in the same city, let alone ball park! Sometimes over, other times under. I just depended on the pic. And these people were trying to win baits and tackle, so they were putting forth their best effort. But it was always a very small % of people would actually guess correctly +/- 4 oz...a very small %. Lesson learned: most people cannot judge the weight of a fish by its pic. So give the guy a break.
  8. Seems we often get questions here along the lines of, "When is the right time to use a snap or a snap swivel for bass fishing? Or should I tie my fishing lure directly to my fishing line?" So I made this video to help answer those questions. Hope it helps!
  9. Awesome catch! Full story here: https://ftw.usatoday.com/2021/09/angler-in-shock-after-landing-record-smallmouth-bass

  11. It continues to spread. Last week, Montana announced they discovered 50 infested boats at checkpoints this year.
  12. We get a lot of questions regarding how to choose the right size weight for Texas rigs and jigs. So I broke down the variables to come up with the definitive guide for picking weights. Detailed and straightforward, this tutorial explains the factors for selecting bullet weights and jig sizes to help you determine the right weight for any given situation. Enjoy!
  13. 1/4oz keel weighted EWG hook.
  14. A few folks you might know... From L to R: BFL All-American winner and FLW Cup qualifier Jeremy Lawyer, Elite Pro John Crews (11 Classics), and 2x FLW Tour Champion Bradley Hallman FLW/Elite pro Mike McClelland and his lovely wife Stacey Corey Schmidt, CMO of Tackle Warehouse holding a new Lew's reel. Had a great time, good food, with good friends!
  15. The entire finished jighead. I have some, and here are the pics. While not "technically" a traditionally-shaped Ned head, this is the weedless finesse jighead, which is designed to be fished in all situations where you would use a Ned rig in similar fashion, but in weedy areas: Note the concave head for the eye: And this is their new Finesse Jighead, which has a more traditional Ned rig shape, plus a screw lock:
  16. Oh man! They were just CRUSHING it today! The 4" X-Zone Swammer is the real deal guys. https://www.xzonelures.com/site/shop/detail/pro-series-swammer-fishing-lures
  17. Gamakatsu is making them now. Called "Weedless Finesse Jig Heads". They're not on the market just yet. I think Oct/Nov timeframe.
  18. Firewire is a slick line. The best knots to use with it would a Uni-Knot or Palomar knot.
  19. Thanks guys! I really appreciate the feedback!
  20. Here are 7 drop Shot mistakes all anglers should avoid. Are you guilty of any of these?

  22. Yup. The server crashed. We were down for about 90 mins. Apologies for the inconvenience. All good now!
  23. Wow! That's quite the compliment! Thank you, I appreciate that. I work hard on each and every video to bring you guys the best information I can. I don't just launch the boat and say, "Ummm...what video am I going to make today? Maybe something will happen...." I wish it were that easy! But the reality is, each video represents several weeks of work. So, I appreciate it when you guys recognize the work I do. I makes it all worthwhile!
