  1. I have a Toadrunner, and tried pulling on the tail to straighten out the split-ring (yes, it's a split-ring). Couldn't do it. Now if split-rings could be straightened out, then we'd be losing all kinds of fish on crankbaits, now wouldn't we?

I know you said you've watched videos, but this one shows exactly how to rig it on a jighead. Specifically, the first and last example show you the two methods to rig it on a jighead, depending on the style of the jighead.
  4. I've been using Invisx and Abrasx a lot lately, and have been really pleased with them so far. Abrasx is actually more supple than Invisx, which I didn't expect because it's more abrasion resistant. Tatsu is the king of fluorocarbon, hands down. I use it a lot, and might use more now that it cost less. And the finesse fluorocarbon really does perform best for spinning/finesse tactics. I don't have any line issues at all with it, the baits act more naturally, and it's extremely sensitive. btw - I don't use leaders, so I can't comment on that application for any of these lines.

  9. Yup, you have line twist. Braid isn't the miracle cure for line twist like some people would like to believe. The real cure, is spooling it on correctly, and then rigging lures correctly, and then using the reel correctly. The last one is many a cause of line twist that few people realize. Here's a video about rigging lures and using the reel correctly.

  11. You didn't mention if you're spooling baitcasting or spinning reels, but note in the videos below what I'm using to spool line on both.
