788CI - any final thoughts before I buy...
A LOT of people used to think the same thing about GPS units when they first came out.

Winterizing Motor
Same thing as the "big" motors. The steps are the same, regardless of size.

Ya, and when you guys are roasting in the summer with 98% humidity and can only fish at night, it's 80 degrees here with no humidity.

AC Adapter Plugged in Outlet
I believe it's a dc transformer that powers the keypad. Do you have a home security system?

Hey man, that's balmy! We've had severe winter weather since Monday. Our overnight lows were in the single digits last night. We only hit 22 as a high yesterday. Today hit 29.

AC Adapter Plugged in Outlet
Could be a cable signal booster or part of an alarm system. So I'm a little confused by your description. Are you saying the wire that leads out of the adapter isn't plugged into anything? If that's the case, then unplugging it wouldn't matter now would it?

who's still flying?
I've been patted down by the TSA several times before the new regs went into place recently, and it was certainly more than a pat on the feet and shoulders, I can tell you that! LOL! But that's what happens whenever you wear sweatshirts. I've even had them randomly pull me out of the boarding line at the gate to check my shoes and give me another pat down. But they never once went for my private areas. Keep in mind I travel A LOT, so the odds of these random searches goes up exponentially. They're kind of annoying, but it's not a big deal IMHO. I only wish the folks viewing the x-ray images were straight, same-sex individuals. So far, the TSA has not said anything about that.

Tackle Warehouse sale is on
TW is a great site, no doubt. But do please consider trying out our sponsor's sites as well. Many of our members are learning they could have saved a lot more money if they had, or perhaps recieved some extra free stuff. Don't let that happen to you! http://www.bassresource.com/fish/advertisers.html

who's still flying?
The discussion is still civil, so we'll let it run for now. The other two topics blew up in a hurry. In addition, one topic was too R-rated for our young readers, and the other was turning into a cop-bashing thread, which we will NOT tolerate.

Hemorrhoids
I know what they are, and that ain't them. Go see a doctor pronto, or maybe even a trip to the ER. You may have some internal bleeding going on.

Ya, but a whimsical topic is a nice deviation from the norm every now and then.

difference in ranger boat models
That's correct. The 518VX would have been available as a SVX model or DVX model. The S stands for single console and the D stands for dual console. Some people list the boat with the S or the D and others just list it as a 518VX as that is what appears on the side of the boat.

who's still flying?
I fly all the time. I went through the scanner. I figured whoever saw my somewhat, kinda, sorta, nakedish outline probably lost their lunch! LOL! That said, I've already had enough x-rays in my life to start worrying about the cumulative effects. So I might opt for the pat downs from now on. As for security in general - yep, there's a ton of other "soft targets" that are just as damaging without all the hassles of targeting planes these days. It's just like preventing theft. The goal is to make yourself a less appealing target. But you'll never thwart the determined crook. That said, people are very willing - too willing - to give up freedoms and rights all in the name of "security". Just look back in history to Germany in the 1930's. History repeats itself.
