  1. We tried - very hard - to get on his show, because he touts it EVERY time ("YOU can be on my show!"). He and the show's executives completely stonewalled us, except for a quick note telling us to stop contacting them. So much for being on his show. I'm not too fond of folks who deliberately decieve people, especially public figures on national television.
  2. Ignore him. He's made up his mind, so it's worthless to try to change it. Besides, keeping a few every now and then helps the fishery overall (how do you think slot limits work anyway?). As for people who project human emotions into animals - they're clueless. See if they'll buy some land in Florida from you! ;D

  6. That could very well be the understatement of the year. No joke. However, you really need to thank the sponsors of this site, because they made it possible to do the upgrades. I couldn't have done it without them. This includes the newer sponsors as well. Please show your appreciation by purchasing something from them today. Help them support BassResource.com. Thanks! 8. c'mon guys, let's not bash him.... too much. : To be sure, a 150MB download is absolutely huge, and will take awhile even on the fastest connection. That's why the link in my first post is a streaming file, not a download - to aid in a faster response. That said, to judge the entire site by a single, massive download is unfair, to say the least. And if you're on dial-up, sorry. This site isn't optimized for slow connections because less than 4% of the visitors are on dial-up.
  9. I take 150mg Ranitidine (generic Zantac) every day, and take an extra 75mg on those Pizza Fridays. It works ok for the most part, but it's still a little weak for me. Used to take 20mg of Aciphex daily and it worked like charm. Absolutely wonderful stuff. But then the insurance company arbitrarily decided to stop covering it, so that was the end of that. Nexium, Pepcid, Prilosec OTC - none of those worked one bit for me. I mean not-at-all.
  10. Really cool thing - both of you! Burley - you coming to Guntersville?
  11. Sounds like you have algea. This may be of help: http://www.bassresource.com/fish_biology/algae_plant.html http://www.bassresource.com/fish_biology/algae_control.html I also suggest you check out http://www.pondboss.com. Lots of articles there about your problem, plus an awesome forum for pond owners.
  12. So let's keep this on track, and not turn it into another Senko thread. I have several comments in response to some of the posts. For the most part, he was throwing a 1-ounce football jig on points where the creek channel came near it in 20-40 feet, just fishing the 45 degree slope. Early in the morning he tried crankbaits and got two bites, but the rest came on the jig. There was no way I could tell you guys that earlier. I promised Mike I wouldn't let on to what he was doing for the Classic. He fished the heavy jig not because he was deep, but because the bass weren't hitting it on the fall. They hit it as he was dragging it down the slope. So he wanted to get it down there quickly. 5 if you include the flasher. I asked him about them, and he said 2 of them (one on the front and one on the cosole) were backups. It was 32 degrees at blast off. It got to the low 60's at the end of the day, but the 25mph winds kept the chill on. You'll note one the pictures shows him crouched down on the deck - this was right after a wave crashed over the bow (I missed that shot by seconds!). Water temps stayed in the high 40's. Actually he did both, frequently. This lake has a TON of points, so the shoreline is rarely straight. The pics look decieving in that manner in that sometimes it looks like he's throwing parallel when actually that shoreline is in the background when we're sitting on a point. One thing I noticed was that he zig-zagged across the depths, searching for bass. Never really stuck to exact same depth. Rather, it was the general vicinity of +- 20 feet of the 30' mark. Again, he was prefishing, so the goal is to cover A LOT of water very quickly. We probably hit 70-80 spots in 8 hours. Factoring in travel time, that's less than 5 mins per spot. That literally meant a few casts per spot. Seems unproductive, right? Well, his goal was to find 2 more spots during the day...2 bites. He ended up with 7. Not quite. The marina where we launched was off limits. We scooted across the lake about a mile and started fishing a different marina.

  14. Hey the club idea is a good one. Makes sense for the club to purchase one, then charge a few bucks a reel for people to use it. Maybe bring it to a sports show or to a local tackleshop for a day. Good way for the club to raise funds.

  19. As most of you know, I spent the day with Mike Iaconelli during prefishing for the Classic. Of course, I asked questions and shot a lot of pictures. I put everything together into a video for your viewing pleasure.... Here is the video. Enjoy! (Note: this is a large file and may take a long time to download) ---> You will need the latest Windows Media Player in order to view this video. <---
  20. Does your pond have a rocky bottom? I've seen this happen on bass that forage by flipping over/moving stones.
  21. Just a hint of what's happening at the dinner: We'll be holding a raffle to benefit Cast For Kids. Several of the prizes are worth over $100. Also, we'll have a special speaker that you won't want to miss!
  22. I don't know. Call Dan at Spokane Valley Marine. He'll let you know. Tell him I sent ya.
  23. DOT COMMMMM! ;D
