Outdoor Writer Tim Tucker killed in auto accident
I am still in shock, but I thought you ought to know the sad news that outdoor writer Tim Tucker was killed in a car accident today near his home in Florida. Ken Duke of BASS, confirmed the news. Tim was either going or coming from a baseball game with his son, Kyle and another boy, when the accident occurred. Details are incomplete. Kyle was injured and in the hospital, but the other boy apparently is OK. Neither Tim's wife, Darlene, or their daughter was in the accident. Although the story was an early file, the Gainesville Sun ran the story of the crash on its web site, but with no victim identification. Visit http://www.gainesville.com/article/20070716/SUNFRONT/70716013 and there is information about the crash and a photo of the highway backup. I am sure more information will be forthcoming, but knowing how you know Tim, I thought you might appreciate the heads up. Please pray for Tim and his family.

Glenn May :)
You guys are too kind. You too Long Mike.... I think! Mike B. the pleasure was mine. You're quite the gentleman - well spoken, and you clean up good too! ;D Thanks for talking to him and following up. I really appreciate the help. It was pretty busy there, and difficult to get around to see everyone. There was just so much! In fact, I just discovered I missed Brad from JBOutfitters, and I'm a little bummed about that. But I did get a chance to speak with Richard Dixon of Jack's Juice for awhile. Again, another nice guy who's got his act together. Be sure to click his banner, as they now offer some great bug repellant. I also spent some time with J.P. Greeson of the Texas Fishing Forum - nice guy, to say the least. We got along great and shared some war stories. I have a lot of respect for him and what he's accomplished. And of course, I met Lane and Tony of Sure-Life (Catch & Release and Please Release Me Formulas). A fantastic couple who really know what they're doing (Tony's a chemist, Lane a biologist). They were a blast! I learned alot about our sponsor's companies and products, and I'm confident our advertisers are the best of the best. I also had the privilege of meeting several known and unknown celebrities in the industry. Hank Parker, Ray Scott, and Bill Dance were amongst the known. Amongst the "unknown": George Kramer, a highly respected author and outdoors writer - the quote on the front of this site is by him, and is posted with his blessing - and Berkley Bedell, founder of Berkley Fishing (the man who pioneered modern fishing line). Meeting Mike proved he would fit right in with the fine crew that gathered down at Lake Fork earlier this year. He's very knowledgeable and genuine, and I'm sure a very talented angler. Had a great time meeting everyone!

My Thoughts On Animal Killing Posts!
Valascus - it seems to me you're equating mistakes - due to lack of experience/education - with hatred. It also seems to me that those who made those mistakes learned from them, both from your own educational posts as well as others. If the actions stemmed from "hatred", then there wouldn't have been any learning at all. Instead, the killing would have continued dispite it all. Making emotional judgements, assumptions, and accusations, and then angrily denouncing the person you view through that filter isn't helpful when it comes to these mistakes. Kind education will go a lot further. And the only way to do that is take a look at your own emotions and channel that energy into a positive influence on the person who made the mistake so that they can learn from it and never do it again.

Anybody going to ICAST?
It's a trade show for the fishing industry. It is for companies, wholesalers/retailers, and the media. It is not a sports show, and not open to the general public. I asked the question because many people who are sponsored by these companies are there tending the booths and talking to the press/retailers. And there are several members here who may be going to do just that. This year it is in Vegas. Next year I understand it will be in Florida, I believe.

Apologies
Wow, that's quite the response! Especially Mike's comments! You guys continue to amaze me. Thanks for the kind remarks, and thanks for hanging in there. As for AOL - you're hitting the cache in their proxy servers. There's not much you can do about that until it cycles out. You can try hitting CTRL+R before the page bounces you out, but I'm not sure if that will do anything for you. As for the server status - seems the issue is stabilizing, but the current host provider hasn't given me any updates on the status, so it may be short-lived. That said, I have found a new host and am working on getting things set up there. Between that and ICAST, it should take a week to two weeks - provided everything goes well. The new server is 3x more powerful that the current server, so we should be set!

Help Support The Forum
Simply click on their banner and it will take you their site. They'll know you came from here and will credit the sale to BassResource.com. A small portion of your sale will then benefit BassResource.com Unfortunately neither BPS nor Cabela's have a way of tracking "offline" sales to online referrals. They are only able to do it online.

Diff. between Kinami Baits Flash and GYCB Senko?
Please read the Senko FAQ. This is covered in GREAT detail there. Therefore, I am closing this thread.

Apologies
Yes, I know the site has been unstable. I am working with my host provider to resolve the issue. That said, I'm fed up with the hosting issues, including the slowness issue, and am in the process of setting up with a new host provider. I hope to have the issues solved once and for all soon. In the mean time, it's going to be bumpy, so bear with me for the week or two. I thank you for your patience and understanding. Glenn

Online Store... Hats?
Sorry, but there won't be any more. This is a clearance sale, meaning I'm getting rid of all the inventory. Once they're sold out, they're gone. What's left is going fast, so if you're interested in anything, you'd better step up and get yours before it's too late!

Scam???
Sounds to me you "pay" by giving marketers your contact information, and "opt in" for market research, spam, flyers, phone solitations, etc. At the end of the day, I'd rather spend the 6 bucks on a lure than endure the endless hassles. No thanks.

Look what I found !!
Holy MOLY! Does that ever bring back memories! I had that exact rod in my teens. I took it hiking with me, and canoeing up in the Yukon. Caught a ton of trout and grayling on it over the years before I finally gave it to somebody. Fun little rod. I'm not sure it has the backbone for bass. But then again, I caught a few on it; just nothing of any size.
