  1. Hey Dawg, It's just a discussion, this is how we learn from each other, this is not a court room.
  2. I am with you Froggy 8-)
  3. What the hay does sexual harassment have to do with all of this. The highlighted part of your reply states the point ; The Company does not want to pay the added premium to the state for unemployment insurance, and the state needs justification to pay them out. Anytime an employee exhausts there time our HR department offers them FMLA immediately, as not to run into the above situation. We even offer intermittent FMLA leave , for those with chronic illness as long as they do not go over 12 weeks time in one year. I caught a guy sleeping for 11 minutes, no witness. It is our experience that Federal Mediators want at least one other witness to prevent vindictive firings, he got a warning. None of these situations are caused by unions. They are to keep in line with the NLRA . Keys to successful disciplinary action; Documentation, follow the written contractual steps, Documentation , always try to get statements and witness accounts on paper and Documentation.
  4. I hope this teaches us to keep our eyes open and ears on the tracks. I did a paper last year on the possibility of this happening, pretty much in line on how it happened, I answered a post here and was lambasted as being a Chicken Little, well it happened. This does not make me an expert, like Kent but I was taught to watch for certain things and much to the distress of a lot of folks, it happened in the order we were taught. I like to think of my self as the guide who told Custer not to cut through the mountains rather than a Chicken Little. ;D This does not mean it is time to build shelters and get married! It means , that because we are a nation of many, immigration has brought the finest minds in the world to the US. This is why throughout History we have stood up to every challange as we will with this one.
  5. 2nd that motion it's just fun to bust him
  6. I am the certified and trained chair of our EEO committee, so I can safely safe I know something about the laws. A right to work state requires no proof of whether a person deserves to be fired, a right to work state just wan'ts enough documentation to justify that person collecting unemployment benefits. The union where I work, of which i am no longer a member of , since I am in management made the disgusting move of knocking out raises for all under 5 years in the unit. They received Rocca money , because we are contracted to a federal program, this money was awarded to the union to get to prevailing wage, they voted for only the people with 5 years or more, ( Already making 6.95 an hour more) than the newer folks! At the same time some pretty creepy stuff the company was doing has been negotiated away. Labor/management can both have a healthy work environment, with clear duties to each other with a good contract and fairness on both sides.
  7. I am currently in management but I was raised in a strong Union enviroment, belonged to several myself. To blame the unions is totally ridiculous, why don't we just phase out your job and see how you like it. There has to be compromise, it is to the point where the Union is betting that Management has to blink, and visa versa. Attacking unions is ridiculous.
  8. Pretty cool!! I thought for a minute it was gonna be one of my favorite MONK pieces, but it was enjoyable none the less Here is what came to mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxX0-OaI5j0
  9. Thanks Cart
  10. What a Christmas for Mets Fans; Shoenweis and Heilman both GONE!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D Too bad it happened now for Willie, Randolph had no bullpen and took the blame for Minya's dismantleing of the bull pen to begin with. We lucked out as Manuel, a fine manager in his own right was here with us already I still hate the fact that Minya is trying to keep Pedro The Often Hurt and Ineffective One wih us and may be going after Rameriz. Minya has gone a long and intellegent way to undo the mess he created. This is the sign of a good GM, he is learning from past mistakes.
  11. I KNOW JUST THE GUY TO CALL: THE EXORCIST
  12. BLIZZARD!!!!! Thats a dusting you mook!
  13. Grimilin has felt the effects first hand Burley: He is currently and recently laid off in Michigan, and he is seeing the senators blaming the workers instead of the corporate mooks who made all these bad product decisions and have seen the demise of their industry in a 35 year decline do nothing but continue to make bad decisions and still walk away fat. This is my take, I hope RW chimes in here, he really understands this stuff and explains it better than most. 3 months ago GM started approaching the government saying they had stock ( Large ,gas guzzling stock) that was not moving and they had only 16 billion left in assets and that the operation was sucking up 2 billion a month. So that would put them at 4 billion now, at the brink of collapse What good will another 15 billion do? In three more months we are back where we started from. It's like going to the track and loosing the first 5 races hard and staying for the last 4, still gonna leave broke
  14. OK, I am gonna wait a year. I have an Okuma I use in the brine, and I am very happy with it. I will wait for your review, because I know you really pay attention to detail when you use your equipment. All of your posts show this clearly
  15. Hey Trippy A HEADS UP, on the flea market there is a post from TRAVIS, a guy I have done business with successfully. He has some Used Presidents for like 30 bucks, GOOD DEAL!
  16. I just got off the phone with Mike, the ol lady suggested that I thank Mike for not taking the picture of the back stroke
  17. The name comes from one the the most notorious con men of all time A guy named Charles Ponzi, an Italian Immigrant ( :) who in the late 40's , into the early 50's beat a lot of people for some big money in the Boston area. This is the classic "Pyramid Scheme" How it works is you hook the mark( victim) by appealing to their sense of greed. You Promise and deliver, only in the early to mid stages of the scam such an extraordinary return on investment. The beginning of the sch em you start getting folks to invest on whatever the instrument you are selling , and lets say a great ROI is 10%, well you offer 20%/ You hook some early fat cats and convince them to pour their money in and keep it there, then you start getting other mooks to put in and use the fat cat money( the Base of the pyramid) to pay the new people off, at these high yield and they in turn recruit others, and as long as you can keep paying a high dividend to the pyramid, you can keep getting the scam to grow and grow, Now the money paid out goes to the middle and the base, as more and more folks enter the pyramid at the top, You then use the new investor money coming in to pay the base and the middle guys. Sooner or later you can't pay the middle then the pyramid begins to collapse. The key to keeping it going is to have a strong flow of incoming investors at this point. You have to keep the base investors happy. The problem comes in that, you really do not have anything to sell and eventually nobody is getting paid, and when the rich fools in the base aren't getting paid, and want their money out the whole thing comes tumbling down.
  18. Hey Dawg: You are welcome here at all times. IT IS THE TRASH TALKING THREAD YOU KNOW
  19. If you are not fishing salt water, then the current President is an incredibly reliable reel. I have no experience with The XT's , but I do know that the regular Blue model has served me well, and never had any torque or twisting problems the pros talk about NADA, not one. There are several differences as Pflueger is appealing to the salt water crew, more and more. If there is a 20 buck difference, I don't know if that is a Canadian thing. The President XLT's here are 9 bucks more than the President spinning reels and the President bait casters are 21.95 more than the older discontinued models I can not and will not give any input on the XT's( new red ones) Because I have never used them. I will get one, since I am home in Brooklyn a lot and fish more and more salt water. My take on new models is to wait a year and read reviews that start WELL I HAVE USED THIS REEL FOR A WHILE NOW, and I would avoid any opinion that starts off with ; What I have heard, or What I have read, offer litltle in the way of an experienced review. 22. ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT THE NEW BAITCASTER OR THE NEW SPINNING REEL> FROM THE PRICE DIFFERENCE IT LOOKS LIKE THE BAIT CASTER:. BOTH THE OLD AND THE NEW PRESIDENTS ARE BUILT ON ALUMINUM FRAMES. New President is a lower profiled model with a different bearing count, that is the basic difference. The ABU Revos were so well received it seems many manufacturers are going to similar profiles. THE PRESIDENTS ARE ALL ON ALUMINUM FRAME. I owned an older one, but I really prefer the Trion LP's for bait casting. As far as comparing them Old vs new, I have not every used the new ones, and opinions are not worth much without experience, so I will not give one. The President is a fine reel, I liked the Trion as it was easier to Palm, this may change things.
