  1. Catch and Release definitley has it's values and so does harvest and eat. Ray Scott saw some bad stuff heading his way in days of the early tournaments and he wisely went catch and release. Those early issues of BASSMASTER with the huge catchs, some on stringers would cause a revolution today! Trophy Hunters and Guides as well as pros all want catch and release for their various reasons States like it, because they do not spend as much on bass as they do with trout, at least here in the NE, where a lot of aenceis do not even stock bass, as the reproduce so well. People like to hunt and fish, to eat what they have actually harvested, that is how fishing started in the first place There is no sin in catching fish, within the laws and regulations of the various states and bodies of water, If we keep it civil, this thread need not be locked and you need not worry about people who have a counter position. You were not even born when this all came about, perhaps reading the history of catch and release and the history of fishing may shed some light on this matter. OK NOW YOU CAN LOCK IT IRENE
  2. If your fishing for the table.which is as legal and ethical as hunting for the table, why would catching them again be an issue?
  3. That's because the Fat Ladies are always in front. The Seahawks should draft some of them, their QB's could use the protection
  4. For me that is the basis of the similarity; The Stones knew the track record of their "security Force" Wal Mart and other stores have had a wealth of experience , enough to see that when they conduct these events, people have gotten hurt. A Lt. from the Nassau County Poilce force went to talk to them about not being prepared as they should and they did not heed his warnings.
  5. Hey Ty, I PM'd you where you can see that Stones ugly incident. I agree we do have differences of opionions and while I respect yours you have to admit I AM RIGHT
  6. Agree with the other 2 guys before, as I have learned much from the both of them Perserverence is more like it for me. When I wanted to learn how to use a baitcaster, I put the spinning gear away, if I wanted to fish, I had to learn, now most of my fishing is done with ease, and with Bait Casting equipment Last year it was Jigs, LBH showed me the different ways to work a jig, RW gave me the set ups ( Altough I dont use Shemanos ;D) and Catt was trying to get my thick head to move to where the fish were. When I finally did that , then the equipment was obviouly just right ( Pflueger Trions ;D) and everyone one of Russ presentations, from his video worked. I FINALLY STARTED TO FISH WHERE THE FISH WERE! So keep at it, ask questions and the fellas here will get you on the fish Catt's way of teaching really is for you to open your head up to just HOW SIMPLE ALL THIS CAN BE!, but he lets you figure things out after he puts you on the path PAY ATTENTION TO THESE GUYS as well as several more. They really are good at showing the rest of us what to do. 8-)
  7. Just a question, not looking to get anyone crazy; Why would 2 of the best police forces on the Planet :Nassau County and the NY State Police and neighboring NYPD, want help from in -experienced people, I do not understand this nor have I ever seen it. Its not like there are thousands dead or a flood, it was a trampeling death, not to lessen the respect and empathy to the young man that was killed. The interviews have to be precise and the has to be corraboration between witness statements and the electronic evidence, if any indictments are to comeout of this. Inexperienced hands can really mess this up, no matter how well intentioned. Where did this plea for help generate from, just doesn't make sense
  8. You have no idea of what you are talking about : 1 to 1 1/2 lb of bass fillets In a bath of milk and egss, with dash of Tobascco Corn Flour ( not corn meal) seasonded with salt, pepper, oregano, cyane pepper and garlic salt Heat a heavy skillet up with vegatable oil in it Drag the fillets trhough the flour mixture Place in Frying pan, average size filllet, less than 2 minutes each side It's great, learned it when I lived in New Orleans I practice catch and release, I have friends who don't and I usually get called on to cook em, so I eat some. As long as the were caught leagally and within limit, imagine that what a novel idea, Man fishes for food :exclamation
  9. Real simple: God has the whole thing is his hands, so for what ever reason things happen, thats his choice and our way.

  11. Hey I asked Glenn if he was changing things a few days ago, he was so kind to pick on me because of my age ;D and insinuated that I was a bit paranoid Any way, a whole new Home Page and Forum look. I see it this way, I have been here a bit over 2 years and everything this man has done has made this site better, so lets give it a bit until we all get used to it and see how it goes. That should take it until Glenn reaches my age.
  12. Then that is more than likely also true for every other store that does the black friday deals. People wait in line in front of these stores every year across the country and nothing like this has happened yet. So why would it be foreseeable? Is it a possibility? Sure, but that doesn't mean that Wal-Mart (or any other store) is responsible for safeguarding against every possibility. The responsibility for this crime lies solely on the feet (literally) of those who rushed into the store. Oh really! The Rolling Stones had to pay up big bucks when there Motorcyle Body guards went out of control at Altamont, was it their fault the Angels tend to kill people? Numerous sporting and concert venues are responsible, as in the Who/Clevland disaster,When that band lit up the stage causing a fire that killed people, the owners were held criminally and civily responsible, as was the moron who lit it up. This is not unsual, in fact their is a long history of expectation when any business venture runs an event, to provide a safe and secure enviorment. Opening the door like this has caused other incidents, on Black Friday for Wal Mart, so they knew the risks ahead of time. They do bear some responsibility , plain and simple
  13. If you are like me, just look under or behind your veichle seat, thats were my snow brush always is! Never know when a rare August snow storm will pop up
  14. When newbees or fellas that have been around for a while, are looking for help with non-top of the line gear, and people try to steer them to something els. Usually starts out: I have 50 to 60 bucks for a reel, I have narrowed it down to 2 reels, niehter of them Shimano. Then it starts , well spend 20 bucks more, or Shimano, being the best, BLAH<BLAH<BLAH, just pitiful. It happens a lot here, that is why i stay off those threads. >
  15. From the lead dective, on a very capable Nassau County Police Dept. Detective Lt. Michael Fleming, who is in charge of the investigation for the Nassau police, said the store lacked adequate security. He called the scene utter chaos and said the crowd was out of control. As for those who had run over the victim, criminal charges were possible, the lieutenant said. I've heard other people call this an accident, but it is not, he said. Certainly it was a foreseeable act. . The NY State Police and Nassu County( who have juristiction),as well as the neighboring NYC Police Dept in Queens have a lot of experience with crowd disemination techniques. It all will depend on how the cameras were located, the angles they were at and how clear they can get the images. The interviews are going to be long and tedious.

  20. I am sorry to hear that I really was hoping one of you guys would get a shot at the record
  21. I really do not have a clue how to anwer this, try asking 4 bizz
  22. Hey Fellas; I am curious if those big bass counts start to decline and how soon it will take. Ihave have much respect for those of the Big Bass Cali guys I know, this is not a knock on either them or thier grat ability to put big fish in the boat.It still takes way more knowledge than I have to do wht they do on a regular basis. If there are big fish in a body of water, then they can be caught. If they are not there, then they can't be caught, Fellas fishing impoundments for Striped Bass will not catch the monsters caught of Montauk or up in New England, becuse they don't live there. I am very curious how this will effect thier searh for a new Worl Record.
  23. If you look like me, find another place to fish, according to Sam
