  7. What Bass Brat said Recent scenario me and my fishing partner faced' We fish 2 bodies of water, on private property belonging to an industrial park here, that they have gated but generously have not posted, If you want to fish it you have to walk in. One is a small pond that holds LMB 3 to 4 lbs, then about 100 yards back a stripping pit that holds numerous smaller bass and psycho pickrel. The pit is a draw point for local factories and the fire dept for waters for brush fire control. Everyone who can draw water, has a key and gets to drive their tankers to the pit for water. We have noticed a guy, with a large tanker truck parking close to the gate, not going in and running a draw hose to the closer pond and taking water. We thought this strange Last month when we were fishing one of the Indusrtial Suit Guys stopped and spoke with us. HE saw us picking up those freaking styrofoam bait holders, debris from a fire and cans up. We explained it was not ours, and he said that is why he stopped they are thinking about closing the site to fishermen because of this litter and some constuction dumping going on,. He gave us his card if this were to happen so we could get permission to keep fishing there. We told him aobut the truck, he got very agitated to say the leat as they suspected this was going on, and asked us next time we see this to get the company name and or plate number so he could adress this as it WAS HIS JOB. I was able to do that 3 days l;ater as the same mook showed up. We solved his problem and made a friend to keep us on a favorite spot!
  8. 7 inches so far, more overnight.
  9. For Bass: Most of the time it is artificals with me. I make it a point to have at least one nightcrawler/bobber trip a year to celbrate and give thanks for my youthful invitation to this sport.\ We have an elderly gentleman named GUS on Mauch Chunk, he uses nothing but crawlers, has respectable catchs and fishes the same deep water spots as the rest of us. I have learned a lot about locating deep structure and bigger fish from him. I also use Minnows and Crawfish , on the river for smallies and I really do not feel less than or any need to apologize for having so much sucess and fun. If thats explosive then wear a helmet so no one gets hurt
  10. Early winter; We got hit hard by a Noreaster parked up over Russ's part of the shore, counter clock wise rotation brought cold air on us and rain turned to first major snow!!!!!!! My Knees are knocking , my &$(#'s are shaking and yes fellas Early Winter in NEPA > :-[ :'(

  12. Hey Bass Brat I am sorry, there was some bustin going on with that also I will add a smilie, I mean no disrespect. I do strongly feel that Bait fishing is just as valid, but I certainly would rather make my point without insulting you. I will add smiley, Please accept my apology, I do disagree with you but I never want to be insulting to you my mistake, Dominick
  13. 14. [color=#ff0000]If you fish for food there is nothing wrong with worms but a true bass fisherman uses artificals. This is the point you are missing. That is JUST WRONG! I f I am not mistaken: that Fish Chris has caught monsters using live bait, Road Warriors 2 smallies in his Avatar were minnow caught fish(live bait) and to me bait and or artifiacls are all great waysways to catch good bass. Skill is needed either way, and of course tourny guys have thier limitations due to rules and the artifical tackle makers will tend to make statements like this since thier profits are derived from artificials. Just file those statements in a folder marked Please add a litttle of this : : and a lot of this ;D ;D to the above statement
  15. I wish there was year round baseball.
  16. This is one of the few times I am gonna disagree with yo Catt. Matching the prey is not always necessary from what I can see. It seems in some situations Not matcvhing the prey helps also. I fish two kinds of water here, Lakes/ponds and rivers . There are worms in our lakes especially after rain, it is one of the patterns I use during and after rain storms , b/c I have proven to myself, that fishing t rigged worms , by runooffs with the right cover is highly productive I also fish some large worms, when there has been no rain and *** Salty Triks and have been very sucessful I sitll see a bit of evidence developing in my logs that suggest that if the fish are feeding on some minnows, and i have a bait , even one not resembeling what they are eating, Larger Size and profile for example, and I give that bait the right action to convince the bass it is wounded and easy prey They will bite it. Some of our lakes here and the great lakes do have shad, but most of our smaller lakes have minnows, crawfish and bluegills as the primary source and none of that California or Deep South "schooling" and feeding applies to this part of the country.
  17. "actualy think both of those baits get bit because they dont quite look right. They look like somethings wrong with the trout. They look like easy prey"
  18. She sung it as it was written, posibbly one of the few voices that can hit all the octaves needed. One of the honors for any song writer is to have another artist do thier number and own it thier own way I would say, now having heard it, she folllowed the head ( melody) of the song and imporvised some scale climbing there. Whats the big deal? She sang it the way it was written? You obviously werent even paying attention.... She didnt even get all the words right : She added words.... it was IMHO a disgrace to the honor of the thousands of men and women that have given their lives fighting for our freedom.....however, like I said thats my opinion...... you are allowed to have a different one. Hey Mr.Marshall read what I wrote: I said " She followoed the melody, and used her large range= the ability to hit many octaves. ' MUSICALLY: SHE SANG IT AS WRITTEN, she improvised the structure of the song, one of her artisitic trademarks is her large range: she sings in many octaves. Each Artist , sings it thier way; they are not juke boxes that swallow quarters and spit a song out the same way 50 times a day.
