Steinbrenner used to pull major moves to keep them off when the Mets were doing well and the Yankees were not Also to be fair: Yankee Stadium was 85 years old and more a part of the history of the game I was only 6 in 57 but I can tell you from my Fathers and Uncles perspective the closing of Ebbet's Field was far more tramatic than either of these closings Citi Field the new stadium was designed and looks very mch like my Dad's beloved Ebbets Field

Shea is CLOSED for good :'( My best memories of Shea are from 64 to 70. Bordens milk had a Promo, If you had 10 Bordens Cupons( On the side of the milk container) you got in for 75 Cents! My Father and his partner sold Bordens Milk so they got all the customers and the Borden's driver to bring in their cupons to the store. On Staurday, if your folks shoped in the store, My dad would give the kid 10 cupons, 75 cents and 2 tokens! You also got a Boars Head Bologna and American Cheese on a hard Kaiser roll. with Guldens Mustard ( Still among my favorite lunches) and a Bottle of YO HOO and all the kids, including me and my cousins ( Once we were finshed with our work) would go to all tha Sat home games. I miss Shea, and I really miss my dad since he passed. NOT TO MENTION 84 to 86, My favorite Met's Team.Honorable mention to one Bill Buckner :

Myth or not , keeping it off a cold concrete floor and in a climate controlled basement on wood works for me , I am not a genius or an expert, I simply listen and try what others tell me. No biggie, I will continue to do what I was taught as it has lasted me 3 years,

GREAT WORK! Just a heads up, if you put swivel seats on it, the Astro Turf is just going to come off the seats. We gave up and the swivels onto wood then put wood over the metal and then painted it green and put on the seats, worked a whole lot better!

Yes Wayne: Last battery I bought would not hold a charge after one year. It turns out I had left it over the winter ON A CONCRETE GARAGE FLOOR! The fellas here told me not to do that. I know it was a combination of the cold and something to do with the floor. This battery is in the basement on a thick piece of wood with a rubber mat over it, and I trickle charge it monthly during the off season , and itheis is the third year with it. Why this is, I do not know, I bet Russ does though. 8-)

One box; Hooks , jig heads, jigs etcc and weights One Top water Box One Rapala Box One Crank box 3 boxes of assorted Aluuring plastics Then I have one side pocket with extra line spools The other side pocket; Spinner and buzz baits Assorted poncho,A SCALE FINALLY, towel, pliers etc through out and it holds up well!

I fish a trolling motor only lake and I have had great results with Wal Mart Everstart Marine Batteries deep cycle group 27 They are HEAVY, and a pain to take in and out of my boat, Third year with this opne, sees about 80 full days on the water, still taking and holding a full charge. I keep it off the floor and always use distilled water when it rarely needs topping off. A little baking soda and treminal scrub and thats all the maitainance I do.

Although both are important, neither, Knowledge far outwieghs both. If you do not know where the fish are andwhy they are there all the patience in the world is not going to put fish that are not there in the boat. I have learned this from countless posts by Catt,LBH, Fourbizzle.Matt Fly and other very knowlegable fishermen who explain what tehy know here, Patience has paid off with me, because once I focus on learning something, the last 2 seasons it was jigs, it takes a longer time than i would have thought to learn someting like this Patience , leads to sucess which then leads to confidence in my book

GOT THIS WHEN I LIVED IN NEW ORLEANS: Beat up some eggs and add milk and a few drops of Woshtersire Sauce.Put bass filets in this mixture In a Bag ( Plastic or Brown paper) add CORN FLOUR ( not corn meal, but flour) WALLY WORLD HAS IT SO DO A LOT OF HEALTH FOOD STORES add some oregano, cayene peper, garlic powder , finley crushed anise seed and salt shake all the ingredients and then add filets and shake them until fully coated using a thick black old fashioed skilet, heat up your veggie oil, until it's hot, almost to smoking point put filets in THEY COOK FAST!!! until each side is golden brown put filets on a plate with paper towels to get rid of the excessive oil squeeze some lemon juice on them attsa nice 8-) ps If you do not want to mix the spices just a some Tony Chachere's Creole seasoning to the corn flour. Watch out it is pretty salty , so go a little at a time. It is readily available in larger Super Markets
