Hard Choice, musically they both leave a lot to be desired. Abba sold more albums in the world at one time, and they rot also. Sales does not equal talent, that shows a good manager who knows what a current auidence wants Miles Davis , musically is eons more talanted than Fats Domino ( botrh big favorites of mine) now, Fats sold more singles than the beatles ( The measure of sucess at the time) and Miles was far better than either of them , musically both talent and excecution and composition. I will not compare Jazz to thsi music, as this is the standard I hold all musicans too. That being said I lived and played in NY and New Orelans and have seen and played in some of the finest ROCK AND ROLL BANDS (NOT ROCK) imaginable, While I never was in a very famous band I have had the pleasue of playing with many talented musicans So I am leaving Jazz out of this mix, its apples and oranges. However: Blues , Rock and Roll and R&B are the foundation of this music SO: When You grow up watching and seeing live; BB KING, MUDDY WATERS< PROFESSOR LONG HIAR< JEERY LEE LEWIS<LITTLE RICHARD<CHUCK BERRY< FATS DOMINO<JIMI HENDRIX<THE METERS>THE NEVILLE BROTHERS>DR>JOHN< THE WHOLE STAX LABEL and ALLAN TOUSIANT, BOOKER T AND THE MG"S<WILSON PICKETT< AL GREENE<JAMES BROWN>TOWER OF POWER and SANTANA these other bands are more like somekind of radio static. The Eagles while not loud were really much like country elevator music. DO THEY HAVE ELEVATORS OUT IN THE COUNTRY?

Yes they are abusing it; Not abusing; Hey Dominick it looks like good weather TOMMOROW , can you get me a vacation day? My answer has always been YES Abusing benifits and co workers; Hey it's 2 pm, I am working the 4 to 12 I am sick and not coming in ( It's not raining and I am going to the fair) Now because we have to have one staff on center per so many kids 40% of the time someone will be mandated to cover at least part of a call off, when more than 3 a shift call off. Yesterday there were 5 calls offs in less than one hour; Only one madated. Today there were 4 as I left and there were 2 mandates brewing. So a worker, lets say a single mom, is now stuck at work and she has child care issues. Or someone cmae in n under the weather now thwey get stuck to work a double Mind you I know it's fair week, and have on calls lined up to fill in, but since they have other jobs they need a days notice. So It is abusing the system, when I will do my best and have never failed getting someone off and covered with at least 24 hours notice.And they know this.

The Company I work for is very generous with vacation abd sick time. You start with 2 weeks vacation, 10 Holidays and 2 weeks sick time a year. You stay that way for sick and holiday time , but if you stay with the company continuosly you can max out at FIVE WEEKS VACATION/per year after your 11 year. Thats a lot and you can carry it over!Our Job . housing 600 poverty level/at risk kids is very demading, so there is liberal time off to prevent burn out For vacation time the union contract asks for a 7 day notice for vacation time, as we have over 50 people in my unit, it makes it managable. Sick time can be used up to 2 hours before the shift. They play the weather game, so if it is not raining they call off. I feel this is abusing the generous benefits we have and it makes it necessary at times for me to work from home I have never denied a vacation request, even if asked for in less than 7 days, Then if one of their fellow workers gets mandated to stay they file a grievance :

This is the second most popular week for call offs at work, yesterday I had to cover 5 people who called off from the unit I supervise. Today 4, so far. Well I am watching the evening news, and there in plain n view , on the ABC affiliate are 2 of the people who called off sick! :-/

When I did the Mook shirts, I was shocked at how much the first run of a printed garment costs! We had I believe 50 shirts made and the cost per shirt ( And we passed them along at cost) plus shipping was around 20 if I remeber, For a simple cotton t shirt. We were not in it for business Russ on the other hand, has to market them,advertise them ( he spponsors this site) and pay for thier printing and still cull some kind of profit, since this is a business venture. I have never been shortchanged by Russ, an if I want a 10 dollar, wash em once and throw em away hoddie, there is always Wally World. :

Have some patience, keep your eye on sites like Tackle Warehouse,Cabelas and BPS because the will all have great buys in the next couple of months. I saw it in the Late 60's with the Cards, the Big Red Machine, We Are Family Pirates, the late 70's Dodgers and the best Mets team of all times the 86 Met's. The Cubs are playing and acting like a team with a Series ring in focus, Lou Pinella is just the mananger ( MNGR of the Year I hope) to keep them that way, as he experienced that swagger with the Yankees. He also knows that is was extremely important to play NY hard and they did.The compettion this off season will be hard and they have the ability to run the table Lou made the statement it was important to play Milwakee and NY hard: VERY SMART BASEBALL. What better way to keep a team, now getting hot again, peaked for the playoffs and world series. He has 2 series against quality teams and he has to keep his team sharp and agressive.
