  1. It actually looks really similar to the jackhammer component wise. Can’t wait to grab a few.
  2. Zoom z craw jr and the 3 inch largo Shad.
  3. Ragetail summer craw rage menace caught fish for me in all water clarities this year. I think I can just keep this color and maybe a pack of black and blue with me be covered in 99% of situations.
  4. Do you swim those very often? Seems like it would be a good way to cover a little water and get a lot of bites. I keep meaning to grab some packs of these but always get distracted by something else
  5. I appreciate all the kind responses, it’s so awesome being able to share it with like minded people.
  6. I often just fish with one or two setups so I always bring extra line and usually a backup rod/reel so if I have problems my day isn’t ruined
  7. Lurenet has white 5/16th ounce war eagle finesse spinnerbaits for $3 dollars a piece. The actual color is turtle I believe.
  8. I recently discovered that the only jerkbait I own that actually suspends is my old stx. None of my pointer 78s suspend but my pointer 100 floats super slowly. I added lead to my baits and they suspend now but I caught fish on them just fine before. Has anyone used the stunnas yet? I almost bought one the other day but decided to restrain myself.
  9. I use the 7 foot light action trout model for ned rigs, tiny swimbaits, and crappie and trout fishing. I wouldn’t throw anything with a hook that has a heavier wire than a ned rig on it. A Medium light or medium action would be more versatile if you are just using it for bass.
  10. Honestly I’m so happy with my berkley lightning rods, not the shock models just the regular lightning rods. I fish a lot of rip rap from the bank and occasionally fall and break them, I just go back to bass pro and get another 35 dollar lightning rod and it’s no big deal. I have nicer rods but the lightning rods are really great and the action of them makes them great for throwing both treble hook, and single hook baits.
  11. I have a video of it that really shows the size but the video is too big to post here unfortunately. I really need to get a scale and tape measure to keep in my fishing backpack, really bummer I didn’t get to see exactly how big it was but I can tell you it made a 5lber feel small.
  12. I’ve been walking to banks and driving from spot to spot the last few weeks at some wonderful eastern Oklahoma lakes and it has been my most rewarding few days of fishing I’ve had in my life. I have been out 5 times this week and have had marginal success a few of those days but the other three days have been incredible and very informative. I’ve landed my biggest smallmouth and biggest largemouth ever. Both big fish were caught on jerkbaits and the largemouth actually bent several of the crappy stock hooks on the old style RC STX she decided to eat, I was working my jerkbait through a maze of flooded timber. When I hooked this fish I was immediately overwhelmed, I knew that if it was a bass that it was without a doubt the fish of a lifetime and sure enough it was. All I could think about during the fight was the 10lb mono, my 6’6 medium action lightning rod, and horrendous light wire stock hooks have to guide the biggest bass I’ve ever felt in my life out of a literal flooded forrest. I definitely put too much pressure on the fish and bent some of the hooks but it was the only way to keep the fish out of a giant tree if heading to as quick as it could. When I first got the fish in my hands it almost felt like I was in a dream for a second or two, it’s hard to explain but it was a truly incredible and rewarding experience. Anyway I’m rambling but I’m just thankful for bassresource, I don’t post much here but I literally read here every day without fail and you guys without a doubt have helped me become a better angler. Even the bait I caught the smallmouth on came from AJ.
  13. Lucky craft pointer 78 in American Shad, I don’t know what it is about this bait but almost every time I fish it I catch big bass. Works equally well on spots, smallies, and largemouth. If the vision 110 actually works better than this bait than I guess I need to try it because it’s magic for me some days
  14. So I’ve tried swimming the speed worm a time or two, when I do it rolls like crazy, like a hollow bellies swim wait, it just looks kind of stupid to me. Is this how it’s supposed to be or am I doing something wrong?
  15. So which one is thump and which is wiggle?
  16. Last year was my first year really fishing jerkbaits, I’m not good at fishing jerkbaits yet either but the pointer 78 in American Shad consistently caught this below average angler above average fish on pressured water if that tells you anything ?
  17. Much cheaper though and I can easily adjust hook size and add a or remove a skirt, ordering some for slow fishing this winter, hopefully they do okay!
  18. Get a float tube, super cheap way to get on the water. I can fish places that are hard to even fish in a kayak and it has been paying off for me this year.
  19. You rock, gonna have to try them out. Kinda sad I wasn’t the first person to think to think of them though. I’m surprised they aren’t more popular, we have all these different shaped jig heads but use the same t rig weight shape for every situation.
  20. Exactly, I would kill for some cheap plain lead ones
  21. Now maybe this exists and I just don’t know about it but wouldn’t a football head shaped Texas rig weight be amazing for dragging a t rig on the bottom? You could swap hooks for different baits, add a punch skirt, fish it pegged or unpegged, lead or tungsten. Seems like someone would have come up with this by now, if I inspire anybody to mod their football jig mold please send me 100 or so weights, thanks ?
  22. I would love to see some pics of those jigs with the trailers on.
  23. Guess I’m in the minority here, I like the tiny little bit of extra weight a heavy wire ewg gives the fluke, I will even wrap a tiny bit of lead tape around the hook when it’s a little windy to keep the bait from rising.
  24. Soft plastics, I have a couple hundred bags and love the different colors, profiles, smells, and the endless ways to rig them. It’s also a lot easier for me to go to the store and buy a new $4 bag of plastics than it is the buy the 14$ hard bait I want that will likely get stuck on a log or a rock.
