If This Works It's A Game Changer!
Very cool, and nit allot of funding wasted in research, unlike MOX which will probably never work, despited hundreds of millions spent on research.

N A S C A R's Brightest Star?
I quit caring about NASCAR when it stopped being National Association for STOCK CAR Auto Racing. Everybody is driving the same machine, pure bunk now. Remember when the company actually had to produce the car they put on the track. I had a friend who owned an 88 Monte Carlo bubble back because Chevy had to produce so many of them to be able to field the car. Don't remember exact figures but less than a thousand were made.

A Week To Go Then Dr Frankenstein Tries To Put Me Together Again, Postponed!!!
Thanks fellas. This will be the third surgery on my neck, already have hardware from C5-T1, all surgeries the front. Going in from back and putting in rods. It's going to work!! Have some bone growth cutting of the nerve to my left arm, removing that and putting in rods.

A Week To Go Then Dr Frankenstein Tries To Put Me Together Again, Postponed!!!
Starting to feel like Peyton Manning, 3rd major neck surgery is a week away 25th. Not happy about it but maybe it will work miracles. Removing bone and fusing back side of C7-T1. Will miss most of fishing but will come back with a vengeance.

Old 2013 Thread!!! Bass Pro Pro Qualifiers For $65 With Reel Trade In. Old 2013 Thread!!!
It's the new Bionic, they changed the name this year to Bionic Plus, I guess because it now has an aluminum frame and the dual cent brake. FWIW the flyer has it listed as a 109 value, but the reel and rod cost 80 each, . Edit I took a look at the flyer, the rod is white so it may not be the regular Blade (red), the do offer a white blade that has micro guides and is cheaper than the regular Blade rod. That's probably the differenceAlso don't forget the reel trade is the first half if the sale and rods trades start the second half, there isn't any day that u can go trade a rods and reel the same day, requires two trips. Finally my flyer came from the Savannah GA, BPS. I don't know why, as the one in Charlotte is closer

Citica Or Orra Sx?
I know that the bearings are better in the Shimano, Abu gets to that price point by using a lesser grade bearings and brass gearing

Here's One You Don't See Every Day...
His ad states that these rods are for fishin, but I'm thinking that it would be a great conversation piece as a display. The ad also states the item is in CT, I would have put money on Texas. To Charlie I clear coated it with an epoxy. posted pics in Tacklemaking section. It is 3/16" braided nylon.

its all finished, I think I should have just epoxied the line to the handle and not topcoated, I did both, which should make this section of rod nearly indestructable. But I'm not wild about the epoxied finish on the line.

Won An Inexpensive Baitcaster For Christmas... Opinions On What To Use It For?
Just fish it, it's serviceable for the techniques described. I would use mono, I think you mentioned this is the first bait cast reel you've owned. I suggest mono cause it's cheap and easier on the wallet when respooling after the inevitable birds nest. Floro lines are crystalline in structure and a kink in it should be treated as a cut, the inside of the line is broken and it will break under load.

Curado 200 All Done
What kind of epoxy clear coat did u use? It looks awesome.

How Many Rightys Fish Lefty?
I was like you, when I first tried to switch to LH casting equipment I found that my left hand remained stationary and I moved the rod around the handle. I injured my neck forcing me to switch, took some getting used to, but I think I've got it now.

I believe the requirement is that the reel be in working condition. Don't remember anything about cosmetics

Here's One You Don't See Every Day...
I just completed extending the butt section of my rod, I didn't recover the blank with traditional cork. I decided to go with a nautical theme........ What do you guys think? Not as ugly as the Rattlr!

Rooster, the sale starts the 22nd right? The Bionic Blade combo for 80 bucks seems like a steal, the new design looks great, on paper it appears as good as the PQ, can't wait to get my hands on one to see how good it really is.

My Rod Modification, Butt Extension Pictures
The handle on my cranking rod was too short. With allot of advice from Imabassninja, I extended it 6 inches. Instead of covering the rod splice with cork, I decided to add a nautical touch, 2 Turks Head knots and a line wrap. Its all done just waiting for me to apply the epoxy topcoat. What do ya'll think?

How Many Rightys Fish Lefty?
I like many others.was with spinning gear cast right reel left, casting equipment cast right reeled right. New convert to LH models now all reels have the handle on left. Took awhile to get used to, but grew up fishing spinning tackle so it wasn't that big of a deal
