Yes, that's why you manually pull out line. Watch a proficient cover fisherman. They pitch it in and pull line off the reel. There is really no other way to do it. Pulling line of the reel will allow the bait to drop vertically. If I'm pitching deep cover I'll switch to a spinning reel and just leave the bail open. Nothing more aggregating than a hard run with an open clutch on baitcasting equipment. More than once I've set the hook and create the ultimate backlash

The G series is a fine reel, is just not the same quality as the E. Are they worth it? That is up to the buyer. For my money I would wait and put my money on the Chronarch E, not because the G series are dogs, but they just aren't as good as the E series.

Feeling sympathy for your wife is normal, just don't confuse sympathy and compassion for her hurt because he used her with your old love for her. I've seen crazier stuff than a man forgiving his wife for cheating, but the fact he lived in your house in front of your kids while you are deployed speaks volumes to her character. Don't fall for the he promised me this or that, or he somehow controlled her decisions. You can have sympathy for her, just don't let it suck you in to a reconciliation that in the end will mean you will be used as a paycheck while she plays. Could you imagine going OTR trucking now?

Also there is a guy selling NIB Lews Tournament series for 100 bucks including shipping. I have three PQ's the only reel that I have that outcasts it is my Curado E5, but the distance is slight, once you learn how to set the brakes they do fine. I don't think you will ever see a Curado G50. The G series aren't in the same league as the E. All honest Shimano fans know and acknowledge that the new G series is a major downgrade. Not enough quality in the Malaysian Curado to handle the high tech world of the 50

It may slow your revolution but it doesn't affect the reel's speed, the reel will still have the same gear ratio. I see what you are saying in that it slows the angler, but we should careful the way it is worded. The way I've read the posts is that the reel will speed up or slow down, which is wrong. To speed up or slow down a reel you have to change gears. Besides we are talking a few mm difference, it will not greatly affect the anglers speed, you are talking tenths of a second. That may make a difference at Mach 1, but negligble on fishing.

Handle length will not make a reel faster. It will put more torque to the gear shaft, torque to the spool again is a matter of gear ratio. A longer handle on a deep cranking reel will help with angler fatigue

Speed is not affected by longer or shorter handle, unless its more comfortable to reel faster the speed is a matter of gearing. I don't care if the handle is 20 or 90mm, the gearing shaft is only going to turn once with every handle rotation. Which will turn the spool 5 times on a E5 bringing in 20inches of line.

Daughter's was Disney spin cast she quickly graduated to spinning gear. Son's was a Zebco 33, but he ended up with star wars with light up LED's.
