which rod?
I have several Avids and love them, I also have a couple Falcon Cara T7s and they are also outstanding rods. Later,

US Reels
They are most interesting looking I will admit. I haven't tried one, but I am considering trying one out. Later,

Mixing brands
Use what feels best to you. It doesn't matter what brand reel on what brand rod etc... as long as it is comfortable to you, is the only important thing. Later,

Invisible terminal tackle

Should i just buy a Curado E?
I have the Curado and a 2010 SX. I love both reels. Both cast very smoothly and retrieve very smoothly. You will not be disappointed with either one. If you want to stay on the cheaper end then the Citica is the way to go. The new Revo S does have the new centrifugal breaking system but it does not feel near as nice as the Citica. Later,

Throwing finesse baits on casting gear?
I use both spinning and bait casters for throwing finesse baits. I personally just feel like I have more control over the bait and presentation with my bait caster. Right now it is just a confidence thing. Later,

New to braid; need some help
I use PP and I do not use backing, I use the PP compression tape for tying to the spool and 95% of the time I do not use a leader. But that is just me, Later,

The Rod/Reel setup you are happiest with
Loomis IMX MBR844C, Revo Premier, Seguar InvizX 15lbs test and I love this combo for fishing all types of jigs, especially swim jigs. Later,

$100 towards a new reel
Citica 201E, Revo S, BPS Pro Qualifier or BPS Carbonlite would all be good choices. I personally prefer the Revo S or the Citica. Later,

Shore angler looking for a casting setup
The Pro Qualifier combo would be good and so would the Carbonlite combo. For line, I would suggest either Yo-Zuri hybrid or P-Line CX or CXX. In 12 to 15lbs test. With this being your first BC I would use one of the lines mentioned above. They are quite a bit cheaper then braid and you can spool your reel a couple times from each. Later,

More line on one side?
I have had that problem before and I did what Jig Man said you have to apply side pressure to help keep the line going on evenly. Later,

Tubes and Largemouth
I love fishing tubes. I really like the YUM Tubes in black and blue, watermelon and green pumpkin. I also use the Owner Phantom Tube hook, works very well. I fish them as erratic as possible and have had great success with them. Later,

Abu Garcias Vendetta rated better than Shimanos Cumulus!!!!
The Vendetta looks a lot like my Falcon Cara T7 Split grip rod. So after reading this yesterday I went up to BPS and took my Revo Premier. I put the reel on the Vendetta rod and it felt pretty good. So I brought one home and am heading out to compare it to my Falcon today. Updates coming later today... Later,

Finding the right lure/color
I would try a white swim jig, I have had great success fishing this type of lure in the exact type of situation you are describing. Later,

Power Pro line.... I'm sold
I use nothing but PP, I have tried Fireline Braid and Suffix Braid and I just prefer PP. I have it on all of my setups and have not had any problems with the line. I also don't really by into the visibility issues either. Later,

Revo Premier
I have both of these reels and I really don't think that the Core is worth the extra $$$. The Premier is a dream to fish with and is an excellent pitchin reel and casts all other types of lures exceptionally well. Both reels are top notch, but I just prefer the Premier Later,
