FYI: Loomis Warranty
Every single company that warrants their product includes the "cost" of the warranty in the price of their product. It has nothing to do with "commies", it's just the way business is done. That's my point. If someone wants a warranty, let them pay for it.

FYI: Loomis Warranty
At least they are honest about it. I wouldn't trust a company that hides the price of cost in the price of the rod and spreads the cost between everybody who purchases the rod. If you never have to use the warranty, you're still carrying part of the load for someone who breaks it under questionable circumstances. I've heard those who support such a practice as "rod commies". I hate commies and I hate rod commies even more.

Paypal question...
1. The gift option for PayPal and what protection it provides the buyer? Close your eyes and what do you see? Nothing, the same protection it gives the buyer. 2. 4% is fair to cover the PayPal fee. You don't want to pay it, send a money order. It's no different than paying interest on a credit card.

Revo centrifugal brake pin position
Okay, so I have it reversed. My reason was based upon this passage from the Owner's Manual: Be sure to slide the brake weights inward on their pins before re-assembling your reel. Thanks for your assistance on that! Actually what they meant in that statement. Is to make sure that you move the brake weight (block) you have turned on (un-locked), move them sightly toward the spool shaft (do not lock them).. This will keep them from jamming when the side plate is re-installed, and, you won't damage any of the blocks... Tight Lines!!! Thanks on that

Revo centrifugal brake pin position
Just received a 2010 Revo Premier with the dual braking system. I looked at the owner's manual and searched on-line for the proper position for brake pins for on and off. I'm presuming when the brakes are pushed loose they are off, when they are snapped in, they are on. Can I get a confirmation on that? Thanks

Daiwa is selling rods and reels direct on their website
They must have increased the prices of everything. Pure Fishing sells by website through contracted vendors.

Yellow Magic Japanese Popper
The description has changed so I don't know what that means. Is it a the same? Is it different? Make up your own mind, look at the package though.

Yellow Magic Japanese Popper
I'm doing some follow-up now. Will post ASAP. The original information came from a Japanese vendor website.

Yellow Magic Japanese Popper
I'm a fair to middlin' topwater angler and the Rio Rico showed me nothin'. I like the 1/2oz Pop R and I'm happy they were put back into production. Megabass' Pop X is also a strong producer. The Yellow Magics that come from Japan are NOT the same as the ones that are sold by distributors in the States. One of those deals where the some guy trademarked the name.

If that is the case, this has been personal. Is there any doubt he wasn't the instigator of the Kevin Langill bout?

Seeking Portable Boat Small Lake And Pond Use
let me resurrect this old thread ... I'm in a bit of a holding pattern because we'll be relocating down South. I currently have a 15' jon boat that I really don't want to put any money or sweat into but I don't want to buy anything until I see the situation in the new area. I do want something decent to fish from for the next couple of years though so I was thinking about the BPS Pond Prowler, which is getting good reviews overall. Any further feedback, Ikefan or others with the boat? Thanks.

Ikes ganna be an abu guy!!
I got 4 of them. Nice rods but my baits keep bouncing off the surface now! I'll have to wait for softer water conditions to continue my research.
