  1. Once and for all ... Shimano is made by Pinnacle, Daiwa is made by Banax, Abu Garcia is manufactured by Okuma!
  2. distilled to it's essence

the outcome might be nice ...
  4. You know, normally I'm a live and let live kind of guy and really don't care what kind of reel, rod, screwdriver, donut, whatever people choose. There just comes a point where you have to swat the mosquito. Some guy will ask a question about a Daiwa, Abu, Shakespeare, Pinnacle, Penn for a specific reason and without fail, someone from a specific "posse" pipes in with an unwanted comment to try another brand of reel associated with a specific "posse" as if they are going to a receive a commission on the sale. People know what they want and know what they don't want. If they wanted advice on a particular "posse's" favorite brand of reel, they would have asked about it. Thanks
  5. Since you addressed all in the clear thinking, non-drone, wouldn't jump off the bridge if everybody else did crowd, I'll respond right back with the same cow flop you just tried to toss on everybody else. How many Shimano reels am I supposed to buy and how long am I supposed to use it before my conclusion is supposed to be valid? I have used Shimano and it didn't a whole lot for me, nothing I couldn't get from an ABU 2005LP @$75 or so? I have used the Shimano Antares7DC, the Daiwa TDZ 103H beats it hands down. Citica, Curado, Scorpion? Revo, Zillion, Sol or Fuego. If you want to run with the pack, stick with Shimano. If you want to lead the pack, run with Daiwa or ABU. Just remember, unless you're the lead dog, the scenery never changes. Oh, yeah, I've been fishing about 40 years.
  6. 1. There are several companies beside Berkeley Gulp which make biodegradable baits. Megabass is one, Imakatsu is another. 2. Although I don't doubt some bass ingest and have problems digesting plastic worms but what about snakes?

    tripendicular
  8. REcommend the 70 HIGHLY. I went through 3 MGs in 5 years. I had my current 70 SC for 4 without issue. Well, until an event beyond the motor's control but that's a whole other story.
  9. This wasn't the case before? Pflueger and Abu were in direct competition before. With both companies under the same corporate umbrella, there is a change in strategy. Stop and think about Pure Fishing's withdrawal from FLW sponsorship. That's not jiving with what they've done with Pflueger adding the Patriarch XT, a refined Patriarch. If you looked currently at both Garcia and Pflueger's lines, Garcia has the very low end with the Black and Silver Max, then Pflueger picks up above those price points then the Revo's enter the picture at the $120 mark up to $170 for the STX, then the Patriarch and XT at $200 and $250 with the Premier taking top spot. While they seem to have most price points covered, there is a lot of jumping around between brands as you crossover different price points moving up the $$ scale. Above the Patriarch is the Premier, Skeet Reese, Elite, Aurora and Akatsuki. The last two at the near $500.00 mark. Look beyond America!
  10. You can't think of this in American market terms completely. It's a global company with a significant Japanese, European and Australian market. We only see a portion of what's available through Pure Fishing. Take a gander at their website and see what's available in other parts of the world. It's an eye opener. I know Australia has some cool stuff. Pflueger Supreme XTS spinning reel, and Abu Revo Premier Elite. I own 3 of the Premier Elites. Umm, they rock!

  13. Pure Fishing is in the process of realigning their line of reels, making Revo top of the line.
  14. 1. OSP Blitz Max 2. Megabass Pop X 3. OSP Zero One jig 4. Jackall Yammy 500 5. Megabass Vision 110
  15. The bait it is setting on works well for women. Where do you buy those jigs? Allen you can purchase those jigs on that Internet auction site or a couple of the Japanese on line merchants. japanprofishing.com or bass.co.jp are among them
  16. I'm agreement with this. Part of the success with finesse is the subtlety and sometimes it can be the difference between the flake or no flake.
  17. what I like about the OSP jig is the eye of the hook is perpendicular to the shank, not in line with the shank, if that was clear. It puts the hook into the top of the mouth on the set and lose very few fish.
  18. smallie beaver -- big texan or sprayed grass w/OSP Zero One jig in bluegill. If there is a better imitation of a bluegill, I don't know what it is
  19. Can you identify the company? Or do you have a confidentiality agreement? Is there a web site? Inquiring minds would like to know! take it from here: http://www.banax.co.kr/eng/com/com0104.asp
  20. BANAX is still associated with Daiwa.
  21. I think you are going to see a lot more of the influence of more experienced anglers as the O-conomy gets worse. People don't have as much discretionary income and those without jobs have even less.
  22. If I'm fishing a tourney, it's all one brand. If it's just knocking around, it's 3 different brands.
  23. Have heard the foam indents easily on both series but haven't really heard anything too bad, I too am interested in how it "came apart". To me the vengeance looks like a heck of a deal and I would definitely like to try one out I currently own 2 Vendettas and just order the third earlier this morning. These rods are tournament grade that happen to be priced very well.
