  1. I fished a decent sized neighborhood pond last night with a friend. Water was fairly clear although had a little color after recent rains. We fished for about 1 1/2 before dark and caught about 6-7 small bass on either a Zoom 10.5 worm or a black buzzbait. The bass below is my biggest ever. I walked out on this pier, dropped my worm straight down next to the last piling, jigged it twice and he slammed it. Not sure of exact weight although it was easily over 5lb.
  2. I have been having tons of success with the black Cavitron recently. So much so that the red hook is losing its color and last night a good one destroyed the skirt. They work and are priced fair. As far as being noisy well thats what I like about them and they can run slow or fast.
  3. Hey SWH, I have been off the site for a little while but yes the Ocean Pines ponds leave a lot to be desired. I don't really know of any decent ponds in Worcester County. I have seen a few but think they may be on private property. Although I work down there I live about 20 min north in DE. I have been fishing quit a few of the ponds scattered around Sussex County. They can be a little bit of a drive if traffic is bad but they are better than nothing. They all can be found on the Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife page. I plan on fishing tomorrow evening I just have decided where yet.
  4. I have the Wacky spinning rod and the Slop and Frog casting rod. Both are very nice for the money. They are well built and I think a nice value. I think you will be happy if you pick them up.
  5. I just got the St. Croix Mojo Bass 7' heavy action frog and slop rod. It was $99. Great rod for the price I think. It fits right in your price range and is a quality rod.
  6. I have the 7' heavy action frog and slop St Croix Mojo and am very happy with it. I have the 6"8 spinning Mojo rod coming next week.
  7. Team All Star 6'4 and a Quantum Tour Edition 6.3:1
  8. I just got an order from BPS in 3 days. I had to upgrade the shipping though. If not they usually take forever. They dont seem set up well for online sales and shipping like say Tackle Wharehouse is.
  9. So what are you trying to say!?! Ok let me dumb it down for the few people who don't get what I said in plain english. The rods coming from Mexico and the rods coming from the US are gonna have the same build quality. They may use higher end materials on the ones coming from the US but to think that a rod made by a Mexican is of lesser build quality is just ignorant. I am all for buying Made in the USA, the fact is the though Made in the US doesn't always equate to a better product.
  10. Made in Mexico by Mexicans, Made in USA by Mexicans. Theres no difference and to say that a rod made in the USA is somehow better than one made in Mexico is just ridiculous. Its all about materials and construction process folks.
  11. Check your PMs
  12. Nice fish Joe, what kind of boat are you fishing out of? I am looking into getting another jon boat soon. I sold one when my son was born and really miss having it. Oh and if you know of any little ponds close by let me know
  13. Hey good to see another local guy on here. I don't really know of any ponds or places to fish in the immediate area. When I had my boat I fished Trap and Ingrams pond alot. Know I fish mainly in Ocean Pines or the more well known places in Sussex County. I fished a really good neighborhood pond in Lewes but was told by a security guard that it was for homeowners only. The pic in my avatar is from that pond. Send me a message and let me know where you fish, maybe I'll see ya out sometime. I am always looking for new places to fish or people to fish with.
  14. Hey I live in Ocean View and actually work in Ocean Pines. If your speaking of the South Gate pond yes there are some nice fish in there as I have seen some people catch some good sized bass in there. As for other local ponds the above poster pointed some out in Delware although fishing from the bank at those spots is really limited and small boats really come in handy around here. Good luck and if you need any help send me a message sometime.
  15. My Tru Tungsten swimbaits are now in stock and shipped today from Tackle Wharehouse. I won't use them for a few months though. If anyone gets a chance to use theres let us know how you like them.
  16. I was real close to getting the Fishin Buddy. I didn't want to drill into my boat to install the fishfinder and to mount the transducer. I decided to get the Humminbird PiranhaMax 220 and go ahead with mounting the fishfinder by drilling into the boat anyway. For the transducer I mount mine on the trolling motor. Very easy and effective way to use it without drilling into the boat to mount the transducer. With all that being said I spent less then the Fishin Buddy costs and I think I got better performance as well.
  17. My local Gander Mountain still had some American Classics in stock when I bought my Team All Star. If your interested in picking one up check Gander Mountain, maybe they will go on sale.
  18. I just bought a 6'4 M Team All Star rod. It is one of the two spinnerbait rods they have. Really nice rod for $100.
  19. No problem, let me know how it goes. The times I have fished the river my best luck came with buzzbaits around the pads, flippin and pitchin the pads, and fishing shallow laydowns. There are plenty of fish in the river although you may catch your fair share of pickeral too. Not all our water over here is salty On this side of the bridge we lack the resevoirs but have decent rivers and ponds to fish.
  20. Tacklewharehouse site says mid November. I like the looks of the Tru-Tungsten swimbait as well. Not sure which one I will chose.
  21. I have a 10' jon boat that I trailer. It is light and has enough room for me and another person. I dont think you would have a problem with getting the jon boat in and out of your truck. I use a 55lb trolling motor and just added a Humminbird fishfinder. Great little boat for ponds and other small waters.
  22. The bite has been good. Buzzbaits around the pads have been the staple for the summer. There are pads all along the river both on the inside and outside. Nassawango creek has also been producing really good.
  23. I am looking for a good mid level priced spinnerbait rod to be paired with a Quantum Tour Edition baitcast reel. I am looking to spend up to $120. Preferably a 6'6 either M or MH. Been looking at the Loomis Spinnerbait rod but its a little pricey. Thanks
  24. Been usind either 10 or 12lb Berkley Trilene XL. Works fine with my other reels.
