Bass Resource Becoming On-Line Equivalent Of Weekly World News?
You are correct. Just after the picture was taken five pounds of lead bird shot fell out of its mouth. Grasshoppers Unlimited has disallowed the weight, and is considering sanctions against Big Bill.

Pray For Our Buddy Dwight Hottle
Here's to you Dwight. May God's blessings be upon you. I have a friend who was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer. He went through surgery, chemo, and radiation, and now has a clean bill of health. It was not, by any means, a walk in the park. But, with it in the rear view mirror he says he'd go through it again should there be a recurrence.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
On my schedule is the holidays. Thanksgiving and Christmas are always a busy time of the year. After that we'll be off to Daytona for speedweeks, and hopefully much warmer weather. Late March or April, we may go to visit out daughter in Georgia. I'll check the long range forecast and if it looks decent, we'll tow my bass boat to GA. There are several lakes within and hours drive, or a little longer. Alatoona, West Point, and three or four lakes in Rocky Mountain State Park to the north. One of them is a trophy lake, open only the first ten days of each month. Weiss, and Logan Martin in Alabama are also within an hours drive. Another hour would get me to Guntersville, or Wheeler. The bite around here should be getting serious about the time I'll be getting home.

I'm Surprised
Not a single thread about the Holm/Rousey fight. Heck, I haven't even seen a post about it.

Turkey Or Ham?
Turkey for Thanksgiving, ham for Christmas. We have Christmas dinner at our house, and for a few years we cooked a turkey and a ham, but the number of relatives has dwindled, and most liked the ham better. The only thing I really miss is the dressing, and we haven't found a good recipe for ham soup. The best ham is the Triple M Budaball ham.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
That certainly shortens the off season. I was done almost two months ago. Fortunately, I don't suffer from cabin fever. Two months down, four or five to go, and I'll be after them again. I'll be glad when December 21 rolls around. The days will be getting longer. See, I've just "wished away" a month of my life.

Maintenance Reminder
I have mine "winterized" every year, and mine is kept in a garage where the temp never goes below 45 degrees. On days when I'm working out there, I up the thermostats about twenty degrees. If I need more room, I pull it out of the garage, and put it back inside when I'm done for the day. The best part is that I can keep all the hatches open and the air circulating through the off season.

Party
You are correct in your case. But remember my dad said that to me sixty plus or minus years ago. That was long before I learned that ladles could be used for more than cooking.

My dad said this about me many decades ago. And I suspect Raider's dad must have said the same to him. If he didn't, he should have. "You're like the guy who keeps hitting himself over the head with a hammer because it feels so good when you stop."

Mercury Verado Pro Vs Optimax Pro Xs
Fishing is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get.

Mercury Verado Pro Vs Optimax Pro Xs
Regarding weight, I don't think you find much if any weight difference in the Optimax 200 - 300 horsepower. I doubt the only difference is the chip in the four cycle line of motors from the two hundred to the three hundred horsepower versions. All internal combustion engines are nothing more than air pumps. The more air you get into them, the more fuel they can burn to produce horsepower. One way or another, be it larger or better porting, the 300 horsepower breathes better than the 250. Chips control the air/fuel mixture to optimum ratios, which primarily involves controlling the fuel injectors. I'm surmising that the reciprocating parts in the 300 horsepower are significantly stronger, and maybe lighter, than those in the 225 horsepower engine. It costs big bucks to produce stronger and lighter components. You can bolt on a turbo charger, a supercharger, or a nitrous injection system on your street car and gain a hundred horsepower. But the guts of the engine will not take the strain of that extra horsepower for long.

That, or a forklift. Raider size of course.

Going Under The Knife Again
Well, it might not cost them more in insurance rates, but they would definitely lose a patient, and any future fees they might receive from treating him.

Raider is not your average man. You'd need a stretcher with handles along the sides like a casket. He'd need at least four groom bearers to prevent hernias, or is it hernii?- Mid Life Crisis: Kayak To (Aluminum) Bassboat...is It Inevitable? What Should I Expect?
There are a few "arrangements" for the safety strap/chain/whatever. On my Z7 there was a short strap with a hook on each end. one for the winch stand and the other for the bow eye. On my Z8, the safety strap is affixed to the hook on the winch strap. At the other end of the strap is a hook which attaches to the winch stand. I have seen other designs as well.- Trailer Issues
Use this stuff carefully. Get a drop on your finger and it will coat everything you touch. We used to laugh and say you could paint the world with one can. Seriously, it is great stuff. Used it to coat hauler assemblies, pump assemblies, etc., on my lobster boat. That was a harsh salt water environment, particularly for the hauler which had salt water running over it constantly while hauling gear.- Party
I know my eyesight isn't the best. I don't see some things that are there, but I don't see things that aren't there, yet. But I could swear I see a ring on each of Raider's hands in the wedding photos.- Installing Carbon Brush Question??
I believe on some starters, when the engine starts, it "drives" the starter gear back down the shaft. Don't make book on that. You'll know once you start your motor. You may want to put some light lube on it, or maybe just a silicone spray. Grease attracts dust and dirt and can get "gunky" and make for a sticky pinion gear.- Party
