What is your best color in a Rat'L Trap?
Chrome/Blue Char/black Tequila Sunrise when it's cloudy out or raining.

Fish Attractant
1. Edge Hot Sauce Gel: Not sure what it is about this stuff, but when ever I add it to my frog my hook up percent goes way up. I know a few Cali lunker hunters who turned me on to the stuff and swear by it. 2. MegaStrike: Use it on jigs and worms and it seems to work ok. Still waiting for the water to warm up here to give the new formula a good work out. 3. Bass Wax: Fairly new to me, but I did catch a few nice Crappies with it while ice fishing. Time will tell how well it works on Bass.

what are you guys putting on your bait caster right now?
The ice on my favorite pond just opened up today so I will have a Jig & Craw soaked in the new formula MegaStrike, tied on this weekend. Once it warms up a bit I will add other lures, but for ice out the jig seems to work best for me. Now if I could just get the ice to go away on the lakes around here I can completely cure my cabin fever. HEHE

what uses for 6'10" pithin team all star im10 rod heavy
Not the same brand but I have a Quantum Tour PT 6'10" Heavy action that I use for pitching jigs mostly, it's really more of a backup to my MBR 844c for say there not hitting the black and blue jig, I'll have a different color on the Tour ready to go, but it also does make a good frog rod in the real heavy junk. As for the team vs select, they are different blanks, but for 60 bucks the select is one heck of a rod. It's heavier the the team, but I would put it up against most 100 dollar rods any day.

Trigger X lures?
Trigger X is owned by Rapala of whom bought out another company that made the formula, from what I have heard. No clue if it works or not, but the idea of Pheromone's is not new. Baitmate has been using such for years, BioEdge uses it also. It will be interesting to see the results once people start using the product.

Favorite Spinner Bait brand?
Hildebrandt is all I throw.

Loomis IMX rods
The MBR 844c IMX is my favorite rod for pitching jigs and worms. The GL3 version, same model number, is great for frog fishing.

Cotton cordell crankbaits?
The Big O is my favorite crankbait for shallow water, less then 10ft. I have not tried Cottons other models though so I can not comment on those.

MegaStrike Scent
I just got a tube of the new stuff so I can't comment on that yet, but the old stuff lasted a good long time. Like Bobby said when the lure feels dry it be time to reapply. Can't wait for the ice to break so I can give the new stuff a go.

quantum tour blue, any good
I have several Tours and Energys from last years line up and love them.

One or Two ...
If it's a bait that I am buying for the first time I only buy one most of the time, never more then two, but if it's one like say the Cordel Big O of which I have caught a ton of bass on I will buy 5 to 10 of each color I like for I know I will use them plus with that many on hand I don't worry so much about getting them hung up. Keep in mind however I rarely spend more then 5 bucks for one crankbait. As long as them less then 5 dollar Big O's, Rattle Traps, Bandits and so forth keep producing I have no interest in 15 dollar cranks. I may spend 10 bucks on a frog, but I know I am not going to lose that unless Mr. Pike rips it up. I hear what your saying though, buy two just in case, but just in case usually means it will be sitting in my tackle box taking up space for 10 years. LOL

New Spro frog popper
I bought a couple but have not fished with them yet. I am a little concerned the hooks seem a little on the small side, but will find out this spring.

To oil or grease? That is the question.
Quantum recommends the following. Lubrication points on baitcasting reels are as follows (some part descriptions vary from reel to reel): Grease: Main Gear, Pinion Gear, Pinion Yoke, Worm Shaft (light grease), Worm Gear, Release Slider, Worm Shaft Guard, Anti-Reverse ratchet (when applicable), Continuous Anti-reverse clutch sleeve (when applicable), and Bushings Oil: Spool Shaft, Spool Shaft ends, Handle Knobs (both sides), Spool Release Mechanism, Level Wind Stabilizer Bar, and Ball Bearings. Lubrication points on Spinning reels are as follows (some part descriptions vary from reel to reel): Grease: Main Gear, Pinion Gear, Worm Shaft, Worm Gear, Oscillator Gear, Continuous Anti-Reverse Clutch Sleeve, and Anti-Reverse ratchet Bushings. Oil: Handle Knobs (both ends), Bail Hinge (both side of rotor), Kick Lever Mechanism, Bail Spring, Bail Spring Holders, Roller Bushing, and Ball Bearings.

best rod under $100.00
I would have to agree with the Quantum Energy Rods. Very nice rods for the price.

Lure attractants
I use either MegaStrike or Edge Hot Sauce Gel. However I don't believe any of them actually attract strikes but instead just help the bass to hold on a bit longer once they do strike. I will say though that the bigger fish I have caught seem to smack the the Edge Hot Sauce Gel more, or it just seems I get bigger fish with it or I am in the right spot or this or that, but no solid proof one is better then the other. One thing I do know for sure is my hookup percentage on Frogs with The Hot Sauce added has increased a great deal. I think MegaStrike, however works better on worms and jigs, for me anyways.

Berkley Gulp Jerk Shad
I have found that the Smallies really like them, but I have not had to much success with Largemouth using Gulp.

Pitchin'/Flippin' Rod
Shimano Clarus CSC-76H St. Croix Mojo Bass MBC76MHMF Falcon Original FC-5-276T All Star Team All Star TAS907FSX Quantum Energy PT QEC767FT Also if you want to be way under 100, you may want to check out All Star Select or Instinct. They sell between 50 and 60 bucks, yet are very well built rods.

What new rod and/or reel did you get for Christmas??
That's a sweet setup there. I got a G-Loomis MBR-844c GL3 of which I hope to add one of them reels like you have there. I am thinking this may be my new frog setup since I have a couple IMX rods for jigs and worms already.

Ceramic fitting fell out of the lead eye, the eye not damaged.
Not so. First off the fuji guides and tips are not the cheap ones. Secondly, knocking out inserts is 99.999% of the time a user error. They offered to fix the rod. I realize it's financially impractical but they still offered to fix it. They also might not want a novice to overheat the tip and ruin the blank... causing a full replacement anyway. If you knock out a tip, spend the $3-$6 to have a new one installed and move on. Ok then I stand corrected, however I have 4 of these rods and three of them have had this happen one of which was only on the third cast with the rod. Fuji or not, all's I can say is in the 30 some years that I have been fishing, no matter the cost of these guides, I have never had this happen until with these rods. Also I have some G-Loomis rods in which I did in fact break the tip guide by stepping on it or what have you and a simple call to G-Loomis and they sent me out some new guides. I can understand Quantum's concern, but at the very least they should offer the option of not just sending in the rod, but the option of sending you a new guide. I am not bashing Quantum, heck I am probably one of the few who swears by there products over company's like Shimano , it's just with these rods that tip guide is junk no matter who makes it.

P-line and Izorline
I vote for McCoy Mean Green. The best mono I have ever used.

3.8 - 4.7 gear ratio
This is why I still have two old Quantum EX301P reels that I treat like gold. 4:4.1. You just can't find that gear ratio anymore, especially in LFT hand retrieve. Till death do us part, or till 100 bucks each do we part. LOL
