I got to hold the carbonlite yesterday and it's a lot nicer in person. I imagined those grips to be uncomfortable but felt rather nice in my hand. I also held that new Rick Clunn rod and it was a little heavy and that grip is weird but it seems to have a great balance point. Maybe it was just the one I picked up but it felt pretty good in my hands.

Google that store before you purchase. If I recall someone posted about that place and the price a while back so I googled the store and found some reviews saying don't order from then. I wouldn't chance it if I were you.

x2 That's the rod I use with a Cardiff 300. Great swimbait set up for only around 200. If you look around you can find Cardiff's going for 75ish.

I really believe Mir didn't care for Lesnar. I really believe Mir felt like he could win again but knew it wouldn't be as easy that time. I also believe Dana needed a way to get people to order that fight.

Great, now that I've looked into them more I think I'm going to save up a little more for the Extreme. Well, since you are saving money, you might as well get the GLX BSR852. I can't imagine a better, more sensitive spinning rod than this (though, I realize your original post was asking about a Dobyns, so I apologize for discussing another rod). Not a problem. But yeah I'm not going to be able to save enough for a GLX. 300 for a rod is making me feel crazy. But I do have a 50 dollar gift card to TW so it's really only 250! ;D Really though when I researched Dobyns rods a little more, it sounds to me like the extreme is the best rod for 300.

From what I read they're not made in China any more it's somewhere else I can't remember. Either way it's not the U.S. For cars I'm going to stick with American made, but for a rod it's too hard to stick with American made.

it wasn't all hype...it stemmed from mir himself...mir was certainly convinced of his improved greatness after beating a sick nog... mir beating kongo doesn't say alot to me...kongo's a gatekeeper and 1 dimensional...he hasn't evolved at all...mir should of beat him easily & did...just as brock would of most likely crushed kongo with ease... maybe the carwin/mir fight will show me something different in mir...but carwin doesn't train full time and hasn't fought in a year...and pretty much has fought all tomato cans except 1...so i won't be surprised at all with the mir win...just depends what game plan carwin has...does carwin follow brocks lead on how to beat mir?...does mir fight smart or does he try & stoke his ego by trying to stand & trade with carwin?...its going to be a good fight none the less... mir bulking up doesn't = improved or better shape necessarily...theres alot of negatives that come with added bulk...you lose speed, rang of motion/flexibility and muscle endurance...bigger muscles need more oxygen to function...mir will never match brocks raw power, agility & speed at the bigger size...thats where brock is a unique freak of nature... its not like brock will be static from now til the possible match up...brock will be equally prepared and will have that much more training time behind him and will have naturally progressed as well...as fighters should, but some don't... i simply think that brock is mirs kryptonyte...honestly, brock has beat him up both fights...and i don't see the 3rd being any different...but in a fight anything can happen...mir stopping the white rhino's take downs?...don't know bout that, hasn't worked well thus far...once brock has top control and uses his far superior wrestling...mir is done... as much as mir thinks talking trash will get into the head of his opponent(brock)...sure it works with some...but i think its a mistake poking the bear in brock...i think it has the opposite effect...the ironic part imo is that brock is actually in mir's head in the way mir would want it in brocks lol... I've saved up enough money now to get a good spinning rod and I really like the looks/sound of the 702SF, but I'm worried it won't be as sensitive as a Loomis IMX. I've heard a few things about the Dobyns but would like a little more before I drop that much money on the rod. Maybe even if someone has used a Dobyns Champion series rod and can compare it to an IMX would be great. Thanks.

That was all hype. They will say anything to get people to order the fight. He's in a lot better shape now than he was for the second fight. I'm not saying he's easily going to be able to take Lesnar out, but he has A LOT better shot than he did before. I knew when he was facing Mir that Mir was probably going to lose. Lesnar is going to have a really hard time taking Mir out on the next fight.

I have the Premier crankbait rod 1/4-5/8. It's not the glass one but I have a Fritts crankin reel on it and it can easily cast 1/4 cranks, but I mostly throw 1/2. Great rod for shallow cranks.

Who else is going to fight Lesnar? Carwin and Mir are really the only contenders that have a chance at beating him unless there are some that aren't as popular yet that I don't know about. I didn't even know who Carwin was until he was set up to fight Lesnar. But really who else in the UFC H/W is going to challenge Brock?
