First impressions on my new Dobyns Extreme
Yeah they offer some in full grips, but not all. I do like full grips as well, but split doesn't bother me.

First impressions on my new Dobyns Extreme
Well I finally came to the decision that the Dobyns Champion Extreme was the rod for me. I was having a hard time deciding whether I wanted this or an IMX. So I did a little research and found quite a few reviews of the Dobyns rods saying that the Champion series were either as good or better than IMX and that the Extreme series held their own ground with the GLX. So I ordered the dx702sf Thursday morning and got it Friday. Took it out of the shipping tube and was just shocked by how light this thing was. The guides were tiny and I was a little worried about casting distance because they were so small. All I could think about was how gorgeous and light this thing was. We got quite a bit of snow here last Friday so I haven't been able to take it out on the water yet. So I threw on my cheap Cardinal reel that has 8# ultra soft on it and tied on a little 1/8 drop shot weight to see how it casted in the yard. The guides being small didn't effect casting at all. In fact I casted farther with this rod than with any other spinning rod I've used (all cheap ones). When I was dragging the weight across the snow I could feel every little bump it hit. I personally have never owned a rod that cost me more than 100 dollars before this one. I think this rod obviously blows my other rods out of the water, but I also do not regret my choice in buying this over everything else in it's price range (200-300). I feel like so far from what I can tell, this rod has everything I need/want in a rod. Extremely light, very well balanced, awesome sensitivity, and it's just straight sexy. If you are looking for a new rod in this price range, please consider Dobyns. Worse case scenario you don't like it, there are PLENTY of people that love these rods and it won't take long at all for you to sell. All I'm saying is research them a little and you'll be convinced by all the supporters. Even better if you can get your hands on one I'm sure that will sell you right then!

Baby Brush Hog as Trailer
I do this too. I only cut about 1/4-1/2 an inch though and then put it on.

If money was no object...
Money is no object and you only want to get 20 kids into fishing?! I'd probably go with every Dobyns Extremes as well. These rods are amazing. Probably get quite a few customs as well with mostly JDM reels. I mean and if money was no object I would have a lake house on every nice lake in Cali, Texas, Flordia and a house in Ten for smallies. ;D

Holy Crap...
Saving her life wasn't enough? She needed you to get her stuff as well? psh, women. : Good going though! 8-)

Another JJ's Magic question....
Um, they do... ;D ;D That's all I use is clear. I don't feel like it's any better or worse than megastrike though. Both do the same thing I feel like. One sometimes might out produce the other and vise versa just depends on what the fish are wanting that day I guess.

Whats with the big craze about Beaver Style Baits?
I fish mine t-rigged with a 1/8 weight and it just catches fish. I mean I don't see why either it just does.

The Hurt Locker - Amazing
I thought it was a really good movie but not any big deal.

Abu Garcia Rod
I'd go crucial just because you know it's a good rod, PLUS if something happens to it just bring it back to BPS and get another.

Help me choose a rod
He'll want a larger reel than a 1000. Oh I didn't even realize it was a 1000. Good call!

A few basic questions.
When I had my BBZ-1 Shad I usually just used a snap. I even use a snap with my more expensive swimbaits, just a bigger snap that can handle more weight. If I had more swimbait rigs to where I could have a lot of swimbaits tied on at once then I wouldn't use snaps, but I don't so i do use them! ;D

I need A New Spinning Rod=Which Of These 3 ?
And now after Islandbass's first impressions with the Lamiglass Excel I would look into those some too.

who smokes cigars???
Nick, have you ever had a Montecristo #2? Cigar Aficianado gave it a 94 I think.... fantastic smoke. I have some in the double corona that is pictured where I posted my humi pics. It's a great smoke. I still have 8 or 9 left.

I need A New Spinning Rod=Which Of These 3 ?
I have a mojo for texas rigs and it is tip heavy but not anything that really bothers me. I love fishing with it though. I don't think I'll get another one just because I'm going to try and upgrade all my rods. But if I were to get another rod in the 100 dollar rod I would probably get the BuCoo or Carbonlite, or wait for the new 100 dollar Loomis rod. The Carbonlite feels really nice in hand.

Where can I find more of these baits? EDIT
Yeah I don't know if it's because it was weightless or what but that itzabug had no action. I'd go with what Thai suggested instead of those stanley ones.

Which Baitcaster of these 4?
;D ;D I always fish for larger bass ;D ;D I need to find a way to tell the dinks I am with the group that wouldn't purchase any of those reels. I like my Curado E-7 ! I'm sure you do, but some of us don't have that kind of money and have to work with what we have. Bass_Akwards I know a place you can get a Citica E for 95 brand new if you PM me I'll send you the info it's legit. That is what I would get unless the PQ is one of the newer ones.

Which Baitcaster of these 4?
I wouldn't touch any of them with a 10 ft pole. And what would you suggest instead? : If you're going to give an opinion like that, why not give one that is useful to him and suggest a reel? :-?
-
Which Baitcaster of these 4?
At that price what reels are "much" better? That's what I'm wondering. My new PQ performs just as well as my Citica E, which is probably the best reel for that price range. I mean I can understand all the others not being the best in that price range but the PQs definitely are some of the best in that price range.

Finally, after 3 years my Megabass Slant Bridge collection is complete.

revo s for 74.99
Now that makes me mad. 50 dollars is a great deal, why doesn't ANY walmart near me have these?! Rip off. I did go in yesterday though and it looked like they were getting everything organized and situated maybe they'll get some new products?!
-
revo s for 74.99
I have a serious question: Is that wrong to do? ;D It's walmart! Every one knows it's every man for himself in there. ;D

who smokes cigars???
Nice stash Robert! Tin I'm more of a Dutch Masters kind of guy.

CI4 v. Sol
I don't see a problem with it, but if I were to get one I would wait until they are on clearance. Why get one now for 200 when they're about to be quite a bit less within this next year?
-
revo s for 74.99
Might as well get at least one to see how you like them! And when you go to get that one, take the rest of them and hide them in various spots in the store just in case you do like it. ;D
