  1. One time 10% discount for *** http://www.***.com/malone/
  2. Maybe I just got a bad Citica, but my Curado IS smoother.
  3. I like a faster gear ratio so I use a 7.0 at 30ipt.
  4. I have a Savvy and a couple Champion Extremes, but not Champions and the main difference between the Savvy and Champion is probably sensitivity. The Savvy is plenty sensitive but not near my Champion Extremes so I'm assuming the Champions are more sensitive than the Savvy as well. Plus you get Sic inserts on Champions. For what you are going to be using it for, I'd go for the Champion.
  5. I think so. I've had the CiticaE for a while now and just got 2 Curados not too long ago and used them for the past 3 days and they cast better and are quite a bit smoother. Go to ohya.com and login as:customer password: preferred And you can get a Curado for only 140 shipped.
  6. Its all good!! Just in fun is all. Obviously your excited about getting a new reel and wanted info and that's what were here for. You have to have thick skin around here. Like I said if I had posted in your thread about getting a Shimano instead I would have been hammered so I didn't post anything. Good luck with your purchase, the Carbonlite looks promising!! I will check it out as well next week to see what all the fuss is about as well as the rods All I know is I love kidding around and being sarcastic, but there weren't any signs at all of sarcasm in your post. Being on the internet, if there isn't any way to tell if you are kidding when you actually are can lead people to assume, and you know what that does! ;D Oh, and PMs are there for a reason.
  7. I was just excited to catch something. It finally hit a high in the 50s yesterday so I went out around lunch time just to try out my new combos. I went out this morning and got this one on my Savvy/Curado. It's a solid 3-4 lber and the Savvy 663c handled it perfectly. Same lure, Spro Aruku Shad.
  8. so what? x2 x2x2 How about quit reading them and move on if they bother you so much? No one forces you to open any thread. :
  9. DX744C as of yesterday. I can easily cast 1/4-3/4 jigs a mile and is plenty sensititve and lightweight and perfectly balanced.
  10. Spro Aruku shads and Jackall TN/70s.
  11. Finally started warming up yesterday so I went out this morning for a bit with my new combos. I started throwing a lipless crank, Spro Aruku Shad, and third cast saw a decent bass following it but it turned around when it saw me. Then before I left I put the Aruku Shad on my Dx744c just because and was reeling in admiring how smooth the Curado is when I felt this baby hit it. I'd say a solid 2lbs. These Dobyns rods are awesome. I was straight launching jigs from 1/4-3/4 with the dx744c.
  12. I have a Pro Qualifier and it's an awesome reel. Performs as well as my CiticaE. I'd say Carbonlite because from what I've heard it's pretty much the same as the PQ just quite a bit lighter. Also at the Classic the PQ that is going to be on sale is some L.E. one apparently? Which is 7.1 ounces? I'm not sure what will be different between this Limited Edition PQ and the regular one besides weight and if that's the case, I'd still say the CL because it's still lighter.
  13. Should've waited until next friday XPS flouro is going on sale buy 2 get 1 free!
  14. ;D ;D ;D : 4in and 5in Gary Yamamoto Senkos (BPS Stik-Os are a great alternative). Some Bandit 100 series, or since money is no object some Lucky Craft RC 1.5s (they'll be on sale starting next friday). Get pretty much 2 colors of each Rage Tail soft plastic. Watermelon and black/blue! Get some Rapala Husky Jerks. Get some 1/8 bullet weights and some 3/0 and 4/0 EWG Gamakatsu hooks. Oh and some Xcalibur xr75s
  15. Well in order to figure out if you even WANT to get serious in the sport, you can start out with a cheap combo. I have the same cheap spinning combo that I had from day 1 2 years ago after serious use and it still works great and I'm sure I'll have it a good while.
  16. x2 I use the regular ones for stuff like cranks/swimbaits/spinners/jigs/pretty much everything I can. Obviously not t-rigs. And sometimes when I'm feeling especially lazy I will even do it for weightless plastics and haven't noticed any difference in productivity. And I have never lost a fish due to a snap either.
  17. Good, I was about to say!
  18. I don't think it's no Shimanos to turn in, but you can't use the discount on Shimanos AFTER you turn in an old reel.
  19. Saving the best for last? haha I hope it gets better.
  20. Yeah that's what I was wondering. Are they measuring the whole thing? Or just the body? I really want to try one.
  21. I'd get the carbonlite. And if you really are thinking about getting both, look at that Pro Qualifier they're going to have on sale instead for I think the same price as the RCX?
  22. Yeah I know, plus the rod and reel have been on sale for a while now. Awesome day 1 sale! :
  23. I wouldnt screw with any foreign substances in the internals of a ci4 for fear of major problems but maybe thats just me Yeah I wouldn't either. Sounds like a bad idea.
  24. If it performs well and there aren't any other better options, I'll go with it no matter how ugly. Like the Curado E7s, I HATE the color, but they are some of the best performing reels in that price range and fit my needs perfectly, so I got 2 anyways.
